- Design of those is pretty straightforward, as they have been around for over 100 years. So your only possibility is to find companies that manufacturer them. Small ones are usually made in China. Large ones that are used in power plants are made by companies like GE and Siemens. Contact them for information on job opportunities. electric drive systems ? do you mean electric motors?

- Depending on your skills, a CMOS 555 timer chip could probably drive a solid state switch (triac) for this interval although a more reliable timing, especially if you want exactly a 50% duty cycle, by feeding the timer output into a counter, so that the 555 cycles say 32 times (once a minute about) for each change of state of the selected output. Smaller cycle times are more stable.

- Q:Ever since I was a little kid I could tell when there is a T.V on in a house when I walk by. I get this feeling inside like I can sense the signal or something with my brain. - I can, too. I just don't know why (I assume it's radio waves). I was in class once (science) during high school and the television behind me was completely black and not making noise, but I could feel it was on. My teacher thought she turned it off with the remote after the morning broadcast, but I could still feel it was on. So when she came over near my side of the room I told her it was still on, so she pushed the off button on the side and it turned off. She asked me how I knew that- if I saw it or heard it. I tried to explain I could FEEL it was on and she looked at me as if I was crazy. So I've always been confused why can some people feel it and some can't? I can feel security tvs at Walmart as well, and pin point their location from the feeling. Anyway, after I tried to explain that to a couple people (friends, family) and everyone gave me weird looks I just decided to keep it to myself.

- Kaed59, The usual problems of shipping GCC electonic and electrical equipment to the USA (NOT applicable to Saudi Arabia) is that the main power supply in USA is 110VAC as compared to the UAE - which is predominantly 220VAC (so you will be needing lots of transformer or a big transformer with a bigger wattage rating. But the biggest problem is actually the frequency (Hz). The US utilize a 60Hz frequency as opposed to the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait's 50Hz frequency (KSA use 60Hz). Hence, you will find in SOME of the electrical appliances and equipment as rated 90-230VAC 50-60Hz. These are universal appliances which can be used both in European (50Hz) and American (60Hz) power supply. Unless specified by the manufacturer to operate on either 50 or 60 Hz, appliances may not operate efficiently or even safely if used on other than the intended supply frequency.
