- Q: I bought a used printer but it did not have the power cable with it, but I have an old power cable from another printer. The only visble difference in the cables is that the colorful end that goes into the printer has a plastic notch on it that is in a different spot. My old one has the notch in the middle where is I need it off to the left. Can't I just shave the notch off and have it fit?
- It's hard to say. Electrical equipment and parts are made for a specific reasons. Now, if you modify the power cable, it's possible that it may work. But, then again, there is also the possibility that it could do more damage than good. It will totally be your call.
- Q: i pods,cameras,nentendos, ect
- right here's a itemizing of prohibited and authorized products from the Transportation protection administration. Airline policies could be extra strict than TSA policies, yet for many visitors - those no longer carrying radioactive isotopes or something like that - the TSA regulations are the proper regulations.
- Q: and which one to use in my country Egypt ?
- NFPA - National Fire Protection Association - National code that covers anything to do with flamable stuff (electrical, dust, combustibles, sprinklers, fire alarms, etc) (United States) NEC - National Electric Code a.k.a NFPA 70 (NEC is a section of the NFPA code) - Addresses proper installation of electrical equipment, devices and wiring(United States) NEMA - National Electric Manufacturers Association- trade organization for electrical manufacturers. Sets common rules, practices and certification for the manufacture of electrical components and devices (United States) IEC - International Electric Code - International version of NEMA IEC would most likely cover devices made for use in Egypt. I'm not sure what organization or governing body would address the installation there.
- Q: i need to take my house hold to san diego and need to know to ship them by ground how much will it cost and who will do that? which company? it is 10 pieces overal cost of $15000is it worth taking them with me because selling them with only cover maybe $6000 and replacing them there is more expensive. need help please.
- put it onto a container . the container will be transported by train then. your better off just renting a truck and driving there yourself. the cost will be enormous by train.
- Q: How come water shorts things out when water doesn't even conduct electricity it is the minerals in the water. If you dropped pure water in electrical equipment what would happen
- nothing would happen if you dropped pure water in electrical equipment and the electrical equipment is also pure without any dirt which is soluble in water. however, in real life, this is not possible. firstly, water which you get from your tap contains all sorts of impurities that dissociate into their ions when in aqueous form. hence, there is presence of free ions that can act as charge carriers to conduct electricity in tap water. if you are able to get pure water, without any impurities, it would be almost impossible to ensure that your electrical equipment is clean without any dirt and impurities on it which are soluble in water. Hence, these residue can dissolve and dissociate in water to form free ions that conduct electricity.
- Q: I accidentally connected the negative and positive terminals of my battery with a wrench, I have checked all the fuses and none look to be blown. What else should I be looking for?
- Your looking for a melted fuseable link-- noy a fuse. It will look like a burned wire
- Q: I have just recently started getting electric shocks at random times when working with my tank. The first time it happened i was wearing a rubber glove (which i thought would block electricity in the first place) i put my hand in the sump and it tore through the glove and shocked my whole arm. The next day i was using the net in the tank itself and got a big shock, then the same thing happend to my brother, my girlfriend and my friend all at different random times. It feels like one of those trick handshake or trick lighters that people have but it hurts way more. Basically the shock runs through my arm and into my chest, leaving my arm numb.I have a 72 gallon bowfront saltwater set up with live rock, about 15 fish, the whole deal. I have the coralife 260 watt compact fluorescent light hood with moon lights attatched with plastic legs on top of the aquarium over the glass canopy. I have an 850 gph pump in the sump, a 300 watt heater in the pump and a protein skimmer in the sump.
- yes, i agree with the first answer.untill they arrive, unplug everything at the wall (don't just switch them off). if you haven't already (and they're still alive) remove everything from the tank. not much else i can tell you, since i do not own a marine aquarium. hope everything turns out well! ]
- Q: I have a hanging, pull-string electrical light in my attic. This is very standard stuff. I would like to purchase an electrical device that will screw into the electric light and give me an electrical outlet. Think of this as a device with the base of an electric light bulb and an electical outlet instead of the bulb. I thought I saw one in a hardware store 20 years ago, but I have no idea if this product still exists. I can not think of what it would be called with a technical name when searching for one on the Internet. My business application is to be able to plug equipment into my attic rather than running the cord into the main house.
- It's called a light socket adapter. There are many places that sell them. Take care not to overload the low-current lighting circuit though !
- Q: I want to choose between Electrical Engineering and MBA , but I heard this career now a days is not a good investment because of outsourcing from Asia , what do you think about that
- Of course.mechanical engineering and electrical engineering are hvng gud career because it is a part of our daily life.since electronics equipments are now available in cheap rates electronics and such other engineering has no scope
