- Q: Does 39psi in the front tyre and 36 in back seem right for a corsa sxi 3door 2012.iv lost manual
- Kelly, tire pressures are not "by the book" in real life. the numbers stamped on the sidewall of your tire are most often max readings to safely use in them. These numbers are determined by a specific weight of vehicle carrying a specific weight. as an example a pick up truck may have a tire stamped with 55 lbs cold@ 36000 lbs. This means when the truck is parked and checked in the morning it should have no more than 55 lbs with a load in the bed of 3600 lbs. Generally a 5 pound less number works well. 55 lbs at 50 cold. A tire run too low in air will become much hotter when rolling down the road. this is often the reason a tire blows out. The rubber compound gets too hot and ruptures more easily. a well inflated tire mat resist a blow out when it hits a sharp rock in the road and a nearly flat tire will burst from it. But is this all? NO Tires are only the same shape and that's nearly it! A tire size can be found in a model for very light cars, medium weight cars and light trucks. The weight of the car is important to the working of the tire. A lot of weight on a kids bike either blows the tire or flattens it to the rim and breaks the bead. the opposite can occur. to little weight on a tire meant for weight and the side walls don't curl and flex enough. the riders feels every piece of a rough road as does the suspension as it begins to wear out. The federal government sets rules for tire makers because your life depends on the tire being right.
- Q: I just got my two front tires replaced on my car. My old tires were 90V's and they have been replaced with 89V's. Would it be a big deal if my rear tires were 90V's. I was always under the impression the letter was the most important aspect of a tire and should match.
- aH..... Thinking of going over to the Dark Side you are. Automobile tires are made with a much stiffer rubber. They have a flatter profile. If you ride mostly upright and put 20,000 miles or so a year on your motorcycle you may consider crossing over to the Dark Side. With an automobile tire you will get many more miles out of the tire. The cost, there is *always* a cost, is that you will have relatively pitiful handling. A motorcycle tire, in a turn, keeps a large contact on the road. A car tire, in a turn, will lift most of the tread off the road and you will be riding on just the edge corner of the tire. You lose a lot of cornering traction. But if you don't push it, don't lean far in the wet, you will most likely be OK. If I had a touring bike that spent 99% of it's time upright on the Interstate I would likely be on car tires. Instead, I ride city, regularly scrape pegs, ride in wet, over painted lines and steel manhole covers. I don't give up my safety to save a few bucks on a tire. I run Metzelers.
- Q: Do wheels/tires need to be on my car to have them balanced? Or can I just take the wheels separate from the tires to the shop and have them mount and balance them?
- while you're transforming into a rubbing noise, that's neither stability or alignment. you have a worn area on your suspension, or there is something out of adjustment (like a fender liner) which rubs on the tires, or the tires are certainly one length too super and that they are rubbing the fender liner while they are grew to become all a thank you to the left or the surprising. Alignment makes useful that your vehicle tracks quickly without pulling to the left or precise and without wearing the tires inconsistently. stability is to circumvent a violent shaking interior the tires once you're vacationing at street speeds. No tire is so appropriate that it would not have a somewhat heavier spot someplace on the tire. Counterweights are utilized throughout balancing to circumvent the shaking. Rubbing noises are exceedingly much continuously a demonstration of unfastened or worn suspension or physique areas or harm that became no longer fixed precise until eventually now. each and every so often alignment shops do no longer verify for all that stuff. you may might desire to bypass to a physique save with physique measuring and alignment kit. they are lots lots extra possibly to diagnose the difficulty properly.
- Q: those anyone know about STRATA ZENO tires it they are anygood? getting rimes and tire pckg for 919.00 is it worth the price?
- Victoria tire and wheel? I know they use those damn strata zeno tires. No they arent very good quality tires.
- Q: 1.I know that there is a tire mounting machine that mount the tires to the wheels, but is the same way when you change the tires? Since, both procedures resulted in having the tires bring on the tires.2.I never really pay attention to the wheel well before, but what is the thing that is the part of the car that is mounted to the wheel assembly?3.What does the thing look like?
- Mounting the tire to the wheel is the process of installing the rubber tire on the steel/aluminum/etc. wheel, this is aided by a machine which removes the old tire, helps strecth the new tire over the wheel, and helps to get the tire locked on the bead locks. When someone says they are changing a tire, this includes the wheel and tire for whatever reason they are changing it, blown tire, flat, etc. This process requires jacking the vehicle off the ground to allow for removal of the tire and wheel. To remove the tire and wheel the lug nuts have to be removed. The wheel bolts to the axle, the wheel well is the area of the vehicles body around and above the tire.
- Q: Hi, I have been wanting to buy a motorcycle for a very long time now and just started wondering one day what would happen if you got a flat tire on a motorcycle? I mean, if you got a flat tire somehow then you‘d pretty much be dead, especially on a highway. Is there some kind of safety protection that prevents flat tires? Maybe stronger tires that can‘t be pierced through by nails, glass, etc.?
- from my experience with motorcycles i've never really seen a full flat tire. i've seen them get low with air and before it becomes any danger at all you'd have had plenty of time to fill it up by then. i've never had any problems with motorcycle tires just getting flat on the highway.
- Q: I‘m going through a set of front tires after a couple of hours, driving on concrete road. It seems that I have to adjust the tie rods to suit the weight of the drives. Mostly inside tire ware.
- Ask in the auto section, bicycles do not have tie rods.
- Q: In my tech class I am building a sofa vehicle. I went to canadian tire today to buy tires for it, and I found some wheelbarrow tires tha said max weight 300 lbs, does that mean that each tire is 300 lbs, so if i had 4 tires would it be 1200 lbs? or does it not change no matter how many tires there are?
- max weight 300 lbs per tire i think you would want something better if its going to be drove at any kind of speed
- Q: Which number in the tire size determines the profile of the tire...and is the smaller the number the lower profile
- www.okorder /
- Q: Could a tire patch (plug?) cause the tire to go out of round? I had a puncture nearly dead center in the threads; I took the tire to a local big box and had the puncture repaired. The tires were balanced and rotated. The repaired tire was placed front side passenger. At highway speeds the tire wobbles or shakes. At 300 miles I checked and noticed it was inflated to 42 PSI when 32 PSI is recommended. I had the tire rebalanced and it still shakes. There were no issues before the repair. Can repairs be removed an redone?
- If the tires were balanced at the tire shop, then the repair did not make the tire go out of round. That's the whole point of balancing, to make sure the tire is properly balanced. Something happened to your tire after leaving there.
