Q: Their is a black spot on our white carpet. I think it's been their for at least 2 years, but we never realized it was their. We've tried 2 brands of carpet remover, and it only faded a little bit. We tried oxy spot remover, and it didn't do anything, please help.
buy a stain devil thats made for biro nailvarnish or paint make sure you rinse well. its worked on everything ive needed it to even hair dye!!!!
Q: I have two area rugs that need cleaned. They aren't stained, just a bit dingy looking from my lab laying on them. One is a jute type rug, 8x10, and the other is a mixed type blend 7x9, it does have some wool in it. I was just wondering if I could use my hand held steamer, I have a Shark Steamer, to clean these? Will it hurt them?If I do this, what should I use with it, just water or some kind of carpet cleaner, etc?
hmm, well when you say Shark Steamer i think that model can't extract water back so my thoughts would be no you can't use that kind of steamer for this (it would probably need to be an extractor type steamer cleaner)
Q: Ok ... So I have two messy boys at home, a 2 year old and a 23 year old. They are, like I said, messy. There's nothing I can do to make them cleaner, so I was thinking about gettinga long rug to go in front of our couch. The couch is a dark green, our carpet is a light beige. Would that look retarded, or like a blatant cover up? And if I get one, what color should it be? Our walls are a light off white.
When my boys were home I had an area rug that went under the couch, coffee table, and the chair across from it. I think it was 6' x 10' and it was washable. I could just take it out to the deck and spray it with the hose. Sure saved my carpet. I think if you could find a neutral tone darker than your carpet...maybe a sand with green flecks, it would tie the whole area together. Funny, now that the boys are on there own they are both very neat and good at cleaning.
Q: its dark brown hair dyeits dry nowits a bathroom carpet
Getting hair dye out of carpet is tough - and if you're to have much luck it's best if you can get at the stain immediately. Here's what to do: Step 1 Blot the stain immediately with a clean, white cloth. Step 2 Mix a solution of 1/4 tsp. liquid hand-dishwashing soap and 1 cup lukewarm water. Step 3 Blot stain with soap solution, using a clean, white cloth. Blot from the outside of the stain, working inward. Step 4 Let sit a few minutes. Step 5 Mix a solution of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts lukewarm water. Step 6 Dab stain with vinegar solution, again working from the outside in. Step 7 Once the stain has disappeared, flush the area with cold water and blot dry with a clean, white cloth.
Q: How can I get my carpet back to its normal color? I have a beige carpet and we mixed to much bleach to get the stains up so i have a couple of bleach spots..
The bleach spot is permanent unfortunately. You've stripped the dye out. If you're talking wall to wall carpet you might want to call a carpet installer and ask if there is a dye you can use to re-dye it back to as close as possible to its natural color. Mind you, I have never heard of this, just a shot in the dark and have no idea if they would have something like that. But I should think calling a professional carpet dealer/installer would be your only hope. Otherwise, as the other poster said, lay a throw or area rug over it if at all possible.
Q: What color of the carpet looks good with white tile?
Black, green, violet and orange are all good, nut the whole room style and tone should be considered. But for the coordination of the whole style . yellow floor matches well with white, blue and many other colors if the color blending is the only consideration.
Q: Is there need to lay carpet after laying floor heating floor?
Very soft; under normal circumstances, in fact, there is no need to lay a mat on it, it's needed in every family , if you feel it's unecessary, you can choose not to lay it. after all, it is just the floor. actually, that depends on your needs
Q: What if the carpet is dirty?
B. carpet stains and dirt classification:A. water-based and dry stains, dirtMost of carpet stains are water-based and dry substances, including dust, sand, starch, soft drinks, tea, fruit juice stains, dirt accounted for about 80%-85%, especially for fine dust, life and work off, mostly adhere to the carpet surface. Larger dirt particles fall into the supporting layer.B. oil base stains, dirt (which includes moving and vegetable oils, cosmetics, shoe polish, ballpoint pens, oils, etc.).C. protein base stains, dirt (which includes blood, vomiting, urine, food products), these two types of stains, dirt, accounting for about 15/20%.
Q: So I am updating my bedroom, like new rug, new shades for my windows, repainting my walls, and a new bed mattress. So i have these butt ugly carpets in my room that i've had since kindergarden and they have to go. They are embarrassing, unattractive, and dirty. I just need to find a website that sells just rugs and that has a huge variety. I am specifically looking for plush rugs. I want the rugs to touch wall to wall, basically touching every inch of my floor, but i don't want an installed carpet that i can't take off the floor, just an area rug. So if you know of any good websites to get rugs off of please tell me. Oh and i'm a guy so thank you!

Q: I am going to pay to have my carpets cleaned. What is your opinion on the best way/method and service? (USA)
You're wasting your money having someone else clean them. You can do it pretty cheap following the following plan. Use a deep/steam cleaner, but only after you've dealt with stains. Otherwise the deep cleaner might help them to set in. I bought my deep cleaner for $100 at meijer. The only way I would have spent more money is if the cleaner had a real good moving brush, but I just use a carpet sweeper to brush stains. To save a bundle of money using the deep cleaner, don't buy expensive deep cleaner detergent. Just use the low-suds laundry detergent you already have at home! I do this every time and it works just fine. To clean up other stains, you might have to look up the source of the stain online. For animal stains, get enzymes that break down the odor-causing chemicals. For red wine, mix detergent and hydrogen peroxide and soak a little. This works really really well at breaking down the tannins in red wine. Peroxide works on some other stains too. Spot Shot is the best I've seen for general spots, it comes in a blue and orange bottle.
