Q: What type of cement should I use what is waterproof? and What type of glue should I use?
Very good job on the backround. Very natural looking rock wall. If I may inquire, what type of fish are you going to put in the tank?
Q: What's the difference between concrete, asphalt, and cement?
Thats going to depend on its purpose, expected use and local climate. concrete is the outgrowth of cement, cement is not used for roads. reinforced concrete is the strongest of your choices, but requires regular maintenance over time, pure concrete could be used for a driveway, but no one does that anymore.
Q: can you use cement in ceramic molds?
Don't think so-- slip (what you put in ceramic molds) is much different than cement-- and the action of the material is different.-- i.e. cement heats up as part of the chemical action to get to the solid state-- slip is actually a type of mud-- the mold wicks the moisture out of the mud-- leaving a shape.
Q: I have a small nick on my tire, and just a small piece of rubber is hanging out. There is no air coming out and the cords or anything is not showing, don't be alarmed. I've driven around with this car and nothing has happened. It just cut the top portion of the tire, not so deep where any major damage is visible. I'm afraid to just rip the little piece off. Can I use rubber cement glue to glue the little piece back together?Once again, there is no major damage to the tire. No air coming out or cords showing. Just a slight tear.
Take it to a tire shop to be sure.
Q: My father has been using a really loud and strong nail gun to mount stuff in our new place that has cement walls. I did some research and found that you should drill a hole and do a bunch of other stuff as safety precautions. The website i found said that if there was an earthquake, the walls would crumble if you used a nail straight into cement. Is this true?I live in an area where we dont even have earthquakes often at all, which is Southern Ontario, Canada, but im still a little concerned because we had one last summer. Also, We live on the 10th floor, so if an earthquake does happen, it would shake a lot more up here. He also has been mounting stuff on the cement ceiling as well.Should I be concerned?
I have been using a Hilti Nail Gun for years To fasten 2 bys onto concrete to fasten Garage Doors to. I have never had to pre drill holes! Couple of times doing this the board split and I had to start over. Trying to pull the Nails out from the nail gun was impossible, I ended up breaking them off> That's what they are designed to do. They will even shoot them into steel beams.
Q: cement is slanting towards the back of my steps and I want to raise it enough to either level it out or slant it away from the house because rainwater is leaking into the basement.Too hard for me to break up the old stuff, as I*m not physically able to do that.
I poured new concrete over my old porch and sidewalks old and its held up for 6 years now. I did ruff up the surface of the porch but not the sidewalks. They sell a primer now for doing that. As long as the new concrete isn't to thin, you should be fine. If you just need a thin surface, Home Depot sells self leveling concrete and floor leveler. It is made by Henry, is in a 40lb bag in the tile dept.
Q: can u explain cement manufacturing?
That could be a very hard question to answer, particularly if you add water.
Q: The wind knocked over part of our wood fence. Two of the wood posts that were cemented into the dirt were uprooted. I figure the best way to fix the fence would be to use new posts (or bust off the old cement) and bury them in the ground with fresh cement. I'm feeling lazy and wonder if I do as good of a job just burying the old posts with the old cement back into the ground. Will it hold? Maybe this is a no-brainer for some folks - useful comments appreciated.
I would probably pour new cement for the reason that when the cement is wet it conforms to the hole dug and seeps in a bit therefore it seems it would be more stable than digging a hole and putting the existing post with dried cement then filling it in with loose dirt. Also, the ground around the new wet cement would be undisturbed and is still hard, you know, not like the loose dirt that would surround it if you just reburied it.
Q: I know cement will add more value to my home, just wondering which way to go.
think that the width of the strip of grass is x. in case you draw this out, including the strip of grass each and each of ways around the rectangle will upload 2x to the two between the size and width of the rectangle. So, the mixed area of the pool and the strip of grass is: (20 + 2x)(30 + 2x). the area enclosed by the pool is in basic terms (20)(30) = six hundred, so the area of the in basic terms the strip of grass is: (20 + 2x)(30 + 2x) - six hundred. we would like this to equivalent 336 feet^2, so we've the equation: (20 + 2x)(30 + 2x) - six hundred = 336 ==> 4x^2 + 100x + six hundred - six hundred = 336, by FOILing ==> 4x^2 + 100x - 336 = 0, by putting the wonderful part equivalent to 0 ==> 4(x + 28)(x - 3) = 0, by factoring the left part ==> x = -28 and x = 3, by the 0-product belongings. because we the strip of grass won't be able to have a detrimental width, x = 3 is the only existence like answer. as a result, the strip of grass could be 3 feet huge. i'm hoping this permits!
Our company has our own research organization-cement and concrete research lab, which is fully equipped with up-to-date facilities. Our products have been exported to South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom, Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Taiwan Area.
