- I would try vinegar and/or baking soda. You could also try boiling a pot of water and then pouring the hot water down the drain. You could also go to a home improvement store and buy a snake to try dislodging anything that could be stuck in there and causing the odor. I wouldn't pour bleach or any other chemical down the drain in case it is sewer gas. The bleach and the gases could combine to make you sick, or worse yet, go kaboom! Call your landlord or a plumber if general cleaning doesn't work.

It mainly sounds like a water faucet does when you have it turned on at normal speed. - its most likely the sink basket. it takes some work the plumbers puttee between the sink and the basket is gone ,or try tithing the nut on the basket not easy ether .there is special tools of course it would be easier to call a plumber or a friend that is handy with repairs, there is so much that maybe wrong under the sinks , but inexpensive to replace the plumber on the other hand..... same for bathroom but the drain is call a pop-up check all the drain fitting nut only use your hands to tithin them
- Q: how to umplug bathroom sink?
- 80% of lavatory sink drains clog at the stopper. Remove all the water you can first. Look under the sink and you will find a rod sticking out of the drain perpendicular to the pipe. unscrew the nut that holds this rod to the drain. pull it out of the drain being careful not to drop any of the parts on the rod if there are any. pull the stopper out of the drain. use a steel hanger with a hook on the end to swirl around in the drain to remove debris. don't run water without pop-up rod as it will leak under the sink. put the stopper back in the drain with the hole facing the back of the pipe so the rod will go into it. put the rod back in and tighten the nut finger tight. flush with cold water and check for leaks around the nut and the pop up rod. tighten as needed to stop leaks. If that doesn't work you can remove the p trap under the sink and empty it. if there is no debris clogging it you can snake through the pipe sticking out of the wall (trap arm). after you snake the drain reinstall the trap and flush with cold water. check the trap for leaks and tighten as needed. I NEVER recommend Draino because it doesn't work very often and when it doesn't, you end up with a sink full of dangerous caustic chemicals. A lot of plumbers will charge extra if they have to deal with it because it can burn you, blind you, ruin your clothes and ruin drain machine cables.

- Don't worry about bugs coming up through the drain. There is a pee trap under the sink that seals the drain by staying fiull of drain water to prevent sewer gas (and any bugs) from escaping.

- Well the plumbing part is easy RE; Hot left the cold to the right, That means the hot is on the Left and the Cold is on the right, Watch how the old one comes out, most is a screw or bolts clamp to the counter and sometimes sealed with silicone which you can cut loose with a razor knife, Un hook the lines at the valve under the sink, if you don't have any then get some and put them in, On the new sink connect the faucet and the supply lines before putting in the sink, Set you sink in correctly and trim the supply lines even with the valve inner part so that it is all the way in and tighten the nut, after you turn the water back on, then slowly open the faucet and let the air come out, then run it for a while, some guy remove the faucet packing stem and then turn on the water, this flushes the line out and won't clog the faucet.
