Either replace it with a new one of the same type, or return it to the maker for the fix. Converting a permanent magnet to an electro-magnet probably won't work very well, because magnetic material, oddly enough, does not conduct magnetism well. Q: I have a 1 inch plastic conduit and am running about 100 feet underground?: Running electrical wire and any other wiring in the same conduit is against electrical code. It is potentially dangerous and could cause damage to your equipment, shock hazards to the users, and possibly start a fire. Don't do it. Your insurance company wouldn't cover any damage from this illegal wiring.

This takes care of TV, DS, and Video camera. I doubt the cable modem will also work. US has HD radio, which will not work either.

Makes no sense. 12V is quite a voltage - you need 8 1.5V batteries, or a 9V and 2 1.5V batteries, but that only take scares of voltage. You also need POWER (amps). Say you power 20 W of speakers, that requires about 1.6 A - not a trivial current for common batteries. Think car battery (which is not very portable )

Q: hiwhenever there are clouds, lightning or clouds sparks strikes my house and damage my electrical equipments like tv, fan, lights. my house has an entrance from south side and have windows, doors openings from this side, i also have openings in north direction to access to my back verandah but no sparks fall from this side. The house have 3' high iron bars fencing at front wall of 5' height as well as on rear wall of 5'-6 height. Do i need to put one 1'-6 high lightning rod made up of copper and aluminium and placed it on the roof top of my house to arrest these lightning sparks whenever they fall or some lightning arrester or you have any good solution of my problem. my house is 39' wide and 52' in length and 33' high(including ground floor,first floor, second floor) and have flat roof top and its in haryana region. please suggest me what to do? i will be really grateful to youthanksbye: You Have the answer in your question you basically have to use a lightning arrestor an top of your house. But make sure that the earthing of it must be separate from your house earthing and try to maintain a earth voltage around 1Vlts preferably below 1 Volt. Q: I just don't understand it, what does it mean when people say 3 phase or 2 phase Voltage, I know higher phases are used to power bigger more voltage demanding things but what does it mean?Can you get both AC and DC in each phase?Is phase just basically saying higher phase higher voltage for higher voltage equipment?How do you convert between phases?Are high phases created with the use of transformers or can they be created directly from things like wind turbines?What is the maximum and minimum phase?How does the phase effect the amps?: First off you need to realize that AC power is 60 cycle sine wave that goes from positive to negative. (50hz in europe). With 3 phase power you have 3 hot circuits. The peak voltage happen at a different time on each of the 3 hot circuits. You can not have any phases in DC power because DC is a constant voltage, it does not cycle from positive to negative. Higher phase does not higher voltage. You term high phase makes no sense. It's either a 3 phase circuit or a single phase circuit. A single phase circuit is when you have just one hot wire. Like your wall outlet. Note that you can get a single phase circuit by just using one part of a 3 phase circuit. Phase does not affects amps. To make a 3 phase circuit from a single phase circuit you need a motor/generator.

Q: Can I use 240 volt electrical equipments into 220 volt? Should I need a transformer?: No, you don't need a step down transformer. It's the same with the standard 115 volt wall outlet. if you use a voltmeter to read a standard wall outlet, very rarely will it be precisely 115 volt. Normally you get readings of between 110 volt to 120 volt. In North America we use 2 phase 240 volt (splits to form 2x 120 volt @ 60Hz) In most of Europe use 1 phase 240 @ 50 Hz. So if you're planning to use a European piece of equipment (single phase, 240 volt, 50 Hz) on North American (two phase, 240 volt, 60 Hz[x2]), don't because you'll risk damaging your equipment.
