Q:Every time I vacuum in my house, my dog comes running over, apparently all excited because I brought out the vacuum cleaner. But then if you bring it within 2 feet of her, she backs away. Electricity now-a days are a vast improvement compared to back then.More outlets per room have to placed 18 inches above the floor,back then you would find outlets in the floor.

I have set up bible studies while going door to door and I know several people who have become Christians after bible studies that were set up during door-knocking campaigns. Door knocking is a whole lot better than doing nothing (and I have seen it work)! .

Q:I have the Miele now, and see that Kenmore was top rated by Consumer Reports.: Have used Kenmore for years, also based on C/R ratings. Mine is a cannister; works well on dog fur. As I recall, Miele's biggest problem was initial cost, so if it's working ok, stick with it, but if you NEED to replace it, go with Kenmore. (My sister-in-law, whose kids have asthma, also swears by Kenmore.)

Q:I have two upright Vacuum Cleaners, a 1997 Hoover Turbopower 2, and a 1979 Electrolux 502S, and was wondering how long the drive belts usually last ? On the Turbopower, I had to change the original belt about 3 months ago, as it was starting to slip, which means its belt lasted about 14 years. Is that normal ? Or was it incredibly lucky to last so long ?As for the Electrolux, it obviously doesn't have the original belt, and since I only got it 2 days ago, and didn't ask the previous owner when she last changed it, I have no idea how old it is, only that it still works fine.: In an air conditioned house where you vacuum once a week a belt will last about 4 years. In a really hot and dry place like Phoenix it drops down to around 3 years, especially if you store your vacuum in the garage where it's easily 110 degrees with 9% humidity. I learned the hard way and now store my vacuum in the hall closet inside the house where it is 75 degrees and 27% humidity. It should last longer. Vacuums that were built 14 years ago used better components and the units lasted longer. The more modern ones are cheaper, designed to wear out faster and use thinner or less reliable components. The manufacturers want them to breakdown so you buy another new one or at least have to buy another, belt, filter, canister etc.
