Q: survey - why do vacuum cleaners suck so much ?: They don't suck as much as your mom

Q: A) vacuum cleaners B) washing machines C) Refrigerators D) televisions: The Television. It was invented in 1929, but not sold until the Depression and WW2 ended.

Q: I have a habit of asking weird questions, but I think it is interesting how different regions/areas of people have different ways of saying/naming things. For instance, where I'm from, we call vacuum cleaners 'sweepers' and apparently other people don't. And then there is the whole 'pop' and 'soda' difference (I stick with pop). Oh one last thing, would you call it making dinner or fixing dinner? Right, so this question is kind of vague-- but what phrases are odd to you when you visit a different area? I'm just exploring the language differences... so any discussion or anything would be interesting!: some are vernacular and others colloquialisms. In the Midwest you'd say making dinner. In the south or southwest, fixin' dinner. We called vacuum cleaners Hoovers since they were the most popular in the 1930's. Sweepers were usually made by Bissell, and were un-powered. Lunch was dinner, and dinner was supper in Oklahoma.

Q: How does a bagless vacuum cleaner filter the dust? Does it cost as much to replace the filter as a bag?: There are several kind on the market so can't quote cost. Mine is an Eureka Altima, comes with atatchment hose, xtension, nozel and furnature tool and a self cleaning ceiling fan and blind brush in small cylinder on the side. The basket and several filters are easy to remove to empty and clean. I have even used it's hose to clean off it's outside when needed. It uses what are called Heppa filters for dust etc and they too are washable. Got mine used for $30 at a flee mkt couple years ago and love it. I did break the brush a while back and when I replaced it I also got new filters and a belt. If you wash the filters each time you dump the basket they should last for years. The basket is large enough that you only have to dump it about the same as replacing a bag. The brush did cost me just over $ 30 but the belt and filters was under $ 10. Oh, my wife loves it too.

Q: Ok i bought a decent hoover just before christmas and it has blown up the thing is last year i had 3 new vacumn hoovers whats wrong with me? What do i do wrong? I have to hoover 3 times a day due to have 3small children under 6 but its never bashed around i really am fed up. Anybody have any suggestions?: the only thing that would cause them to blow-that easily would be completely blocked vents, that prevent the machine from running too hot and frying itself...so I suggest cleaning your filters and emptying the bag more.Also another thing that commonly breaks vaccuums is running over the cord with the machine

Q: Or did they convert to Vacuum Cleaners?: They use Swiffers they can fold that mop part up or down to increase or decrease the drag better speed control and they can shoot their witches brew right out of that dispenser.

Q: The vacuum has a really loud noise to it. At one point I seen grease/oil on the floor while it was running. The noise sounds like it needs grease or something. I'm thinking the bearings, but that's just a guess. Please can someone help or advise of a website where I can find the quot;how to fixquot;. Dyson support was useless. They just said to send the vacuum in or bring to a repair center at my cost. My options aren't big, I live in a very small town that doesn't have many or if any repair centers. I am concerned that you have indicated your machine was leaking some kind of oil or grease and neither of these fluids are used in the manufacture of the DC14 or indeed any of our vacuum cleaners. If your DC14 is making a loud noise and is not running correctly, we would strongly advise you take it to a local repair centre or call the Dyson Helpline for assistance. If you are not able to take it to a repair centre, we can arrange for it to be collected and taken to one. Q: Do canister model vacuum cleaners have a belt on them?: The floor sweeper with the rotating brush Yes the belt is on that part only. not in the canister itself There is no belt in the that part or the vacuum

Q: Do vacuum cleaners help clean cat hair?: yeah until it cloggs up on you lol... ive gone through 5 vacuums in the last two years... i recommend shark brand, so far its lasted a year... but nothing helps more then brushi g the cat, if your cat doesnt like to be brushed you can make a cat brushing station for your cat to brush its self... all you need are two baby bottle cleaners from a 1$store and a pice of wood for the base, make sure its heavy enough not to fall over, you can look it up in detail on youtube
