Q:We have a mischievious dog in the house that keeps chewing and destroying things. The power cord he severed belonged to a Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive vacuum cleaner and it will take about $25 to replace, rather than buying a whole new vacuum cleaner. I was wondering if anyone thought it was a dumb idea to attempt to remove the back part and replace this cord or if it could be done at all? Q:Has anyone purchased one of these outrageously expensive vacuum cleaners? We have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy. We have a horrible time with vacuum cleaners. We have had Dysons and just had one die on us. Does anyone have any feedback on these vacuums?: we have a Miele Blue Moon. We also had a very hairy dog. But we bought it because of allergies. it picks up and keeps dust mite droppings which no other vacuum does. but you have to change the HEPA once a year for it to do that. The bags and hepa are rather costly but we have had it 9 years and it works great. The only other tip I'd give is keep the height setting one setting higher if you find it is overheating when you vacuum. we have shag carpet so it was overheating the powerhead set at 1. We love it and it definitely works better than the less expensive models.

Q:i was cleaning my pc with with a vacuum ( wich im already doing for years)and before i know my pc would't startup when i pressed the power button i connected my power SW (switch) and reset SW and speakers to my motherboardnow my pc will start but after i get my first ASUS screen it just shuts down???? everytime again.....this is what i already tried to do : unplug 1 RAM card see if my cpu fan was properely attached to motherboard changing the POWER SW and the RESET SW from positions and it still doesn't want to work ???Please help me i would appreciate that.greets Jason Dewaide: That's a big NO-NO... Vacuum cleaners create tons of static electricity which can damage computer components, especially graphics cards, processors and even motherboards. Only clean a computer with canned compressed air for electronics, never use a vacuum cleaner.

Bagless is preferred: In my experience, NONE of the mass market vacuums are much good. They are full of bright colors and features but as actual cleaning appliances they are merely fair. Worse than that, they are all prone to failing at a relatively young age. Spending more money on a Dyson is not a good investment. Its main gig is the gimmick of the bagless design. At work we use Sanitaire SC vacuums. SC is a commercial model but don't let that stop you - the goal is to get dirt off the carpet. Sanitaire used to be a division of Eureka, but Electrolux bought them out. Don't worry, it's still the same design they've been building since the 1960s. No joke. 1960s. I guess when you come up with something that works, you don't screw it up by changing it. Anyway, I have homeless workers helping clean the place up with these things. Being homeless volunteers you could reasonably expect them to be tough on the equipment, and you'd be right. But some of these vacuum cleaners are about six years old and still going strong. You can get parts easily on the internet (OKorder has just about everything) and most of the repairs, when repairs are needed, only require a screwdriver. Belt changes are done in seconds. Emptying out the bag takes two minutes, tops - less if you don't spring for the slightly more expensive, reusable cloth bag, but then you have to keep replacement bags around. Not a big deal and the bags are available everywhere. Sanitaire SC series vacuums are available around the $100 level. I've been using them for decades - no exaggeration - and have tried many other machines. I keep coming back to Sanitaires. Good luck with it.
