Q: I had my scaffold done on friday, and it's still very sore and swollen. My boyfriend's accidentally caught it a couple of times but not badly and i was wondering if the pain and swelling is normal and if there's anything i can do for it. I've been cleaning it with savlon and have been careful with it x: You should be using non ionised sea salt dissolved in warm to hot water twice a day to clean the piercing, not savlon (which is to harsh for piercings and will dry out the skin). If the piercing keeps getting caught then it is going to swell and be painful, the area has been through trauma so will be very sensitive. Although swelling at this early stage is still normal and to be expected.

Q: I got my scaffold piercing 6 days ago, with titanium, and it was fine until yesterday.I had a couple of nights out and might have knocked it a few times, but yesterday it was swollen, red, throbbing and very painful. There is no liquid coming from it. It seems to have got worse today.I have been following the aftercare advice and cleaning it several times a day with rock salt solution and (up until yesterday) savlon antiseptic spray. If it is infected, will I have to take it out or just take antibiotics?Thanks!: it sounds like it's just irritated, if it's infected it will be secreting puss. Have you tried to soak it in the rock salt solution? Soak two cotton balls and put one on each side on the piercing and keep it there for 10 minutes a day. And make sure the antiseptic spray has zero alcohol in it because that can irritate it and prolong healing. Try this for a few days and if it's not getting better then go see your doctor.

Q: I have some scaffolding that I would like to use to build a temporary slide to my swimming pool. The slide I would like to be made out of the side parts which are the ones like rectangles with bars going across them and I have a variety of poles. I would then like to put a slippery tarpaulin on to the frame.But how would I hold the tarpaulin up, because the metal poles will be too short? So that if someone slid down it they would not just burst through the tarpaulin and hit the floor after hitting around five metal poles!: Why would you even consider something like that? Obviously you kids and your family use this pool, why put them at risk making a temporary slide with scaffolding. Not a good idea.
