- Q: On the large harness that goes to the radio, I can't figure out what 5 of the wires are for. on the harness they are b3 (light tan/white), b4 (gray), b5 (black), a6 (pink), and a7 (blue).
- To play an auxiliary source you'd need to fool the deck into thinking it's a separate factory accessory, like an XM radio tuner or CD changer. That's the purpose of the adapter. If you already have a stock XM tuner or CD changer, and you don't want to use it, you might be able to cut the audio signal wires and connect them to an audio cable running to your MP3 player. Then you can set the head unit for the XM tuner but you'll get the audio from your player. But if there's no factory external source equipped in the vehicle, then this isn't an option for you.
- Q: I have a buffalo tools 2000 watt generator i have been rebuilding. I have searched for a wiring diagram to help but no luck at all my question is about the wires that come out of the section that generates electricity. Outside of all the resets and switches coming right out of the back of the section that creates electricity has 6 wires coming out. Four are hooked to two different plugs two in each plug one set is red the other blue and the last two wires are separate black wires i would think are negative/ground wires i am looking to know what the red wires and blue wires actually are dc/ac volt i imagine just would like to know for sure don't want to blow anything up and help even guesses will be greatly appreciated.
- Wire colors inside a generator are pretty much meaningless. I've seen green live wires and red ground wires. I suspect four of your wires come from two of the output coils. Each coil will produce 120VAC. They can be placed in parallel for maximum power at 120V or in series for 120/240V operation.
- Q: I am replacing a 2 wire circuit for a fan/light combo with a 3 wire fan/light combo switch. I ran a new 12/2 w/grnd to the switch box. I ran a 12/3 w/grnd to the ceiling box for the fan. I have a ceiling fan and light control switch that control light and fan separately. I can't figure out which wires go to what.
- To make that easy to understand we take fan as light and to turn on the fan you need one neutral wire one hot wire and one ground wire.Switch is a cut circuit device which will install in hot wire(simple circuit). If already it's wired you will have 4 connected wires in the light box which one of the hot wires and neutrals are directly to the light and separate from other wires,(BLACK AND WHITE) so connect them to the fan wires as same color and if you see green wire in fan connect it to the ground(COPPER). Now 3-way wiring is using 2 control for fan. 3-way switch has 3 entry 2on top and 1 in bottom (COMMON) SHOT DOWN POWER FIRST then: 1- connect main hot to first switch (TOP LEFT) 2-connect free hot wire 3/12(RED)to the (COMMON) 3- connect BLACK hot to (TOP RIGHT) 4-connect neutral to neutral and ground to ground 5-send 12/3 after connecting as above to the fan box. 6-IN other switch with another 3/12 wire connect BLACK to (TOP LEFT) 7-connect RED to (TOP RIGHT) 8-Connect WHITE to (COMMON)and by wire tape put a black sign to white wire as return HOT. 9-Send that wire to fan box . A-NOW in fan box connect RED TO RED and BLACK TO BLACK . B-connect NEUTRAL from first switch to the fan neutral wire C-connect all the ground to gather. D-connect WHITE wire from second switch to the BLACK wire of the fan and put the black tape on it to separate that from neutral wire. Before close the switches turn on power and try both switch to make sure one will turn off and another will turn on and opposite.
- Q: What type of wire do i need to install a normal inside wall outlet? Do i have to use solid copper wire?
- Buy AWG # 14X2 cable inside includes one more bare copper wire for grounding. Solid single conductor is the common product.
- Q: What do all the wires do

- Q: Ceiling light junction box has 2 wires (black and white on both). One of the two is hot (always juiced). The other of the two travels down the wall to the switch junction box, and this is the only wire in this junction box. When I connect the two blacks and the two whites of the ceiling junction box, the switch wires become juiced. But when I try to hook up a switch to those switch wires, the switch doesn't cut the power to the ceiling junction box when I flip the switch on and off. Why?? -very frustrated.
- You wired it wrong. Disconnect all of the wires, take a piece of black tape and put it on the white wire that goes to the switch. Connect the other white wire to white of the fixture. Connect the black from the switch to the fixture, Connect the grounds, then connect the last 2 wires together. Now it should work.
- Q: A 41.7-kg sign is suspended by two wires, as the drawing shows. Wire 1 makes and angle of 42.2deg with the horizontal and wire 2 makes an angle of 58.8deg. Find the tension in wire 1 and wire 2.
- To solve this, you have to find 2 equations, because there are 2 unknowns. Assume, Tension in wire 1 = T1 Vertical component of T1 = T1 sin42.2 Horizontal component of T1 = T1 cos42.2 Tension in wire 2 = T2 Vertical component of T2 = T2 sin58.8 Horizontal component of T2 = T2 cos58.8 Since the sign board is in equilibrium, the forces must balance each other. Horizontally, the horizontal components of both forces are balancing each other. Therefore, T2 cos58.8 = T1 cos42.2 T2 = (T1 cos42.2) / (cos58.8) -------------------(1) For the vertical components of the wire, both are balancing the weight of the sign. T1 sin42.2 + T2 sin58.8 = (41.7)(9.8) T1 sin42.2 + T2 sin58.8 = 408.66N ----------------(2) Combine (1) into (2), T1 sin42.2 + (T1 cos42.2)(sin58.8) / (cos58.8) = 408.66 T1 ( sin 42.2 + cos 42.2 tan 58.8) = 408.66 T1 = 215.66N Subst T1 = 215.66N into (1), T2 = (T1 cos42.2) / (cos58.8) = 308.4N Hope it is correct ^^
- Q: Hello everyone! I have what is probably a very simple question.I'm not exactly a radio expert. So my question is this:Is there a difference between copper wire and antenna wire (copper as well)?
- ANTENNA WIRE CONTAINS A FEW STEEL WIRES COMBINE WITH COPPER WIRES THEN TWIST TOGETHER. THAT MAKE THE ANTENNA CABLE IS MUCH STRONGER AS IT IS USED TO BUILD SHORT WAVE T SHAPE ANTENNA THAT REQUIRE A LENGTH OF HUNDRED FEET.
- Q: what wires do i use to bridge subs together?
- 14-18 gauge
- Q: wic iring codes for turner plus three wired to uniden washington cb radio
- Typically there are 3 wires. The shild is ground. Of the remaining two wires, one is push-to-talk and the other is the audio lead. Find the push-to-talk (switch) lead by checking continuity from the shield to each of the other two wires. On one of the remaining two, there will be continuity when the mic is keyed. That is the switch lead, and the other one is audio.
