Q: The one that starts out with vacuum cleaners making a squeaking noise? Damn i hate that commercial.: OMG. You too?! Yes, definitely annoying. But obviously that makes it an attention getter, which is what they want. I could be doing anything and not paying attention to the tv, and the minute that commercial comes on I'm like WTF, what is that? Ughhhhh. Haha.

Q: He doesn't seem to be scared of any other loud noise but he screams when we go to the store and pass by them. He also panics when we touch or go near our own vacuum at home. I just wonder if this is normal he's been scared of it for the longest time and still can't seem to get over his fear.: I think all kids have some sort of weird phobias. My 5 year old is terrified of most toilets. She hates the self flushers. I have to sit on it behind her so it doesn't flush while she is going. I would suggest getting him one of those toy vacuums from the toy store. My daughter has one that actually picks up some things. If he can learn to help mommy vacuum with his own, he may not be afraid of them anymore.

Q: Hoover or Kenmore? I say Kenmore, because a gladiator would like greater quality. I have thought Kenmore would be a gladiator's best friend when it comes to vacuuming. I have thought that the guy would go for Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum cleaner to buy and use, instead of a Hoover vacuum cleaner that is made in China or Mexico, for quality reasons. I thought Kenmore would sound more gladiator-like than Hoover. Also because of performance and that a Kenmore would hold up better than any Hoover that is one the market. I would say gladiators in general prefer Kenmore over Hoover for quality, performance, reliability, and ease of use. Because of this. I do think it would be a minority of them that would prefer Hoover than Kenmore.: Yes , I think you are correct , a gladiator would prefer a Kenmore vacuum cleaner...........

Q: this house s covered in dirt. im 20 with a 2yr old daughter and almost 16 weks preg with our 2nd. my husband is 22, we live with his dad and sister because mu husbands job keeps cutting hours and hes not making enough to get our own place, and i know some people will be like well if you dont have money to get your own place why have another kid...well i was on birth control both times ok!!! and i dont do abortion, and if i have a child i am going to keep it and take responsiblity and not jut give it away ok!...anyway back to the question...so i want to clean this house, it makes me so mad with how gross it is...everything gets dusty super fast and the carpets always have dirt in them. Our vacuum broke, so is there a way for me to clean all this without a vacuum???: I sweep my carpets because my vacuum broke also. Surprisingly sweeping gets loads up. I had two cats and sweeping always gets more hair up than a vacuum. Also try dusting your carpet with light sprinkling of baking soda this will help cut down on odor and when you get a vacuum you can vacuum it up. Try figuring out what is wrong with it. Typically it is just a busted belt. They sell them at WalMart for a few bucks. Presto, viola, it will work like new - if that's what wrong with it. Pawn shops typically have good prices on used vacuums or you can try to borrow one form family or a neighbor. I used to bake for a neighbor of mine every time I would need to borrow her vacuum, I am sure she loved all the cupcakes and muffins I used to give her. Chin up and keep trying; you are no doubt doing an excellent job with the resources you have ; ) ~Divine Edit: The belt may have slipped off and is consequently rubbing against something it shouldn't. Take it slightly apart (to get to the belt), have a screwdriver handy (you may need it) and take the belt off to examine if it worn, broke or breaking. You may need to take it apart more than that to find out what the problem with it is. It would be a good idea to do all of this outside, it may make a mess. The good news is that vacuum cleaners (most anyway) are pretty easy to repair. Also the vacuum may be clogged somewhere (in the tubing) working the engine way to hard, this could be causing it to smoke or the engine may be just going bad. But this hardly ever happens, usually the rest of the vacuum goes bunk first. Try posting your question about how to repair it in the Home Garden Maintenance Repairs section of Y!A and see if you can get more detailed help. Or try to google repair help for this particular brand and model. I am sure someone else has had the same problem with this vacuum, not everyone has the luxury of throwing out something that breaks and just willy-nilly buy a new one.

Q: I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. I can vacuum over a small piece of trash in the living room and the vacuum just pushes the trash around, lol. Help!: I personally love my Dyson. I have the Dyson animal, it is a bit more expensive. I have 3 large dogs in the house and have had it for 4 years now, and I don't have any complaints.

Q: So I went on a trip, and I put my clothes in SpaceBags to save space. Problem is, there's no vacuum in the hotel for when I'm repacking to go home. I only brought one bag, and there's a one-bag limit. No carry ons. What do I do about it?: Roll them up very tightly. So all the shirts rolled tightly, all the slacks rolled together. etc. A space bag isn't all that necessary this way.

We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.

Q: Hi, I'm looking for an answer from someone who subscribes to consumer reports magazine. When was their last article on vacuum cleaners published? I'm looking for a comprehensive review of vacuums, not one article on a specific model. Thanks for the help: Pop into your local library and see if they have the 2010 Buying Guide that Consumer Reports puts out. That's the last one I remember seeing. However, I will warn you, I was disappointed. They rated Hoover very high and after having two of them and nothing but trouble with no results from Hoover, I went to a Bissell Healthy Home. Now happy as a clam with my vacuum.
