Q: The flooring was put in yesterday (they call it "floating floor" laminate) and as we walked on it last night we notice that some of the boards creak and groan. I know that traditional hardwood flooring does that when it gets older, but is laminate supposed to? Because if it's not, LOL - we need to get them back out here! Thanks.
its not suppose to squeak. thats why people get laminate flooring, not real wood flooring
Q: After the tide of moisture on the ground, the color of the carton into the floor tile, and now some of the brick above the yellow, washed with hydrochloric acid, did not wash off. Who knows what can be done to wash the color of the dye? More
In the daily life, the pollution of floor tiles is usually the following types: daily pollution; tea, ice cream, oil, beer; sediment, rust, mortar; paint, drawing pen; soy sauce, vinegar, carbon; Pollution treatment methods are not the same, the following were introduced a variety of pollution treatment approach. 1, daily pollution can use the mop, and then use the detergent, soapy water can be cleaned. 2, tea, ice cream, grease, beer can use soda solution can be cleaned. 3, sediment, rust, mortar using sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid solution. Put it in the brick surface, put it aside for a few minutes after the wipe, pay attention to the hand for good protection. Amway has a special tile cleaner effect is also quite good! 4, paint, drawing pen can use turpentine, acetone wipe, home use toothpaste also has a good decontamination effect. 5, soy sauce, vinegar, carbon end of the use of clean toilet effect is better. 6, the ink can be cleaned with Amway's tile cleaner or toothpaste.
Q: I saw a lot of things on the wooden floor of the wall, especially such things, I really do not know how to build, I hope you advise more
The process and shape I have seen, the wood substrate on the line. Use the panel on the wall, do the floor texture of this process is seen! Wall layer after the use of panel wall wall closed edge, the surface can be decorated with paint or varnish of
Q: I hate the tile in my kitchen but my Dad will not let me take it out. I was hoping for something quick and enexpensive. I came across cork flooring. Now..I figured the floating meant no adhesive. Has anybody applied this type of flooring on top of tile and did it work? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Floating floors can be installed over tile as long as the tile is level and even. If the tiles are uneven then the floating floor will also be uneven and could crack at the joints, depending how it is made and just how uneven the floor below is. Cork is an excellent option for a kitchen, but make sure to apply a urethane clear-coat over it to seal the joints and prevent water from penetrating to the substrate material below the cork. The cork itself is resistant to mold and mildew and water damage, but the layers of the floating floor system below the cork are not, so do it properly so you won't be having to redo it again too soon. Good luck!
Q: whats the easiest way to get it off the floor . been there since like 1984??????????
There is a special tool you can find in a Home store. Ask them. Would be worth buying if you have a lot. I have seen it being used, sort of like a scraper on a long handle. Doubt it would be very expensive.
Q: I put down a laminate floor 1 month ago, and when I walk across most areas the joints move up and down. I had a new sub floor installed prior to the laminate so I don't believe it's a leveling issue. There is an expansion gap on all walls and I'm taking the floor up because I scratched it.Would it make sense to put PL300(prefer this for cost) or flooring glue in the joints when I relay it?Thanks.
Laminate floors are floating floors and should not be glued to the floor (of course). Whether a tongue-in-groove laminate or a snap lock, it is advisable to use the laminate joint glue in the joints. Many manufacturers specifically require this for warranty for their floors that are being used in a commercial setting. I believe it makes sense even for residential in that it will help keep moisture from spills, etc. from seeping into the joints. I would NOT use the Loctite PL series of glues. These are great Liquid Nails-type construction adhesives, but not a good application for the laminate flooring seams. The bottles of laminate flooring seam glue (Bruce, Pergo, etc.) are inexpensive, easy to apply and clean up as you go, and really go a long way. Good luck.
Q: Three layers of solid wood flooring panel, core layer and the bottom of what are the requirements?
1: core thickness of not less than 7mm2 core width can not be greater than 6 times the thickness of 3, the gap between the core can not be greater than 3mm
Q: My parquet floor is expose to water and moisture due to rain water getting on them. Resulting with small 'polka dots' like damage on the surface. Is there any way that I can DIY repair it? Cos getting the professionals are too expensive.
Parquet floors are easily damaged by exposure to moisture. There is a point where you can't fix them, they have to be replaced. Ask again with pics of the floor for a better answer.
Q: ok so i was watching routines on floor and i was just wondering, because it seems highly unlikely people could do the things gymnasts do on regular floors, so are the floors used for floor event like springy floors?
yeah they have more bounce to get more height. if you watch them you can see the floor sink and then come back up when they jump.
Q: Tare out old floor and toilet and and llay the tile how much
One poster is right on the money. It does vary but I used to charge 30$ to R&R the stool, rip out varied as to what needed to be ripped out ( you don say) but that could range from 50/60 $ to 200. All depending on what was needed to be ripped out. This included removal and disposal. Prep ranged from 2$ to 3$ a s/f . This depended on if the floor needed a cement board or over slab. This was taxable stuff like thin set, grouts, cement board, Labor for floors was 3.50$ a s/f. So your looking at 6$ a s/f(+-) for all prep materials and labor. Plus rip out, Plus tile, a big variable. So you can see it varies.. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
