Q:I‘m redecorating the bathrooms of my town house. I want to tile the one wall in the shower with small blue Mosaic tiles, and the rest of the bathroom with plain white tiles. As it‘s a very small en-suite, I‘m thinking o
Mosaic tiles can add a lot of variety and interest into a bathroom. A mixture of blues is suitable and your decision to keep the other areas white is also correct. I am assuming the fittings will also be white colour. But, if you are planning to cover only one part of a wall where it is against the shower, it might not look right. (unless the wall you are referring to is the wide side of the shower and it is also the full width of the bathroom) it is best to either use it on all three sides of the shower or in one full wall of the bathroom.
Q:I would like to glue it to the tile that is already there, except remove a few that are coming loose.
yes, but, if theres already some of the old tile coming up, may be a goo idea to take all of it up. if it is only a couple of pieces just pull them and fill in with leveling compound
Q:What is the basic role of tile glue?
7, anti-corrosion, acid. One of the most important applications of Beatte tiles is the use of thin-layer construction methods to paste tiles. The process is: the pre-packaged dry powder adhesive in the field and water mixed with a rectangular tooth with a doctor blade will be mixed with the adhesive applied to the wall and the ground, before it is dry before the tile on the bar: The basic requirements for adhesives are: good construction, long opening time (time from smearing to dry), good slip resistance, sufficient deformation under various possible climatic conditions.
Q:I am looking for some shiny gold 1 in tiles i need about 50-60 can anybody help me out. I would prefer ceramic cause they are gonna be used in a floor but ill take suggestions too.
check out a tile outlet store, id give a few names but i dont know if i'm allowed ,, also id think about going with porcelain tiles,,just for the fact that if 1 happens to chip,, the color is set the same the hole way through the tile, instead of just on the top, then u dont have to replace it
Q:The tile I have has some asbestos in it .How do I dispose of it. Also somebody also said that the glue has some of it in it,True or False
Is the tile 9 inches square? if not, you probably do not have it in your tile, as they stopped making it in tile in the 70's. If you get it checked for asbestos and it's positive, you are best to let an abatement contractor do the job. You can be fined for tossing this away if it has asbestos in it.
Q:I am installing 13x13 porcelain tile on a wall. Should I leave a 1/4‘‘ gap for grout or can I butt them up tight for a smaller grout line?
Tile with no gap will not accept grout. A gap less than 1/8 will accept on non-sanded grout. Most large tiles are set with a 1/4 gap or a bit more. That will accept sanded grout. It's very difficult to get butted tile perfectly straight on a wall so it will look good afterward. If that wall is in a wet location, you definitely need grout.
Q:how to paint over tile
If you are asking about painting over tiles on a wall in a particular room such as a bathroom, the answer is you can't. Wall tiles, like glass are a non-porous surface. Paint will only adhere to a porous surface (i.e., absorbent surface such as drywall, wood, canvas, etc.). However, if you are talking about painting a design on a tile(s) then the answer is yes you can. But in order to do this you will have to use a glass medium and apply it first before you can paint on the tile and then the tile will have to be cured with heat after wards. To do only a few tiles would be economical but to due a whole room of tiles it would cost a small fortune in both time and money. And yes, you can use epoxy paint but you need a well vented area as well as a mask and goggles to do it and it may not last very long on the tile.
Q:I want to rip up the old linoleum in my bathroom and install some tile. The previous owners laid the current layer of linoleum on top of the original linoleum. From the little bit I‘ve peeled up to look underneath it looks like chip board underneath that. Does that mean I need to lay some kind of backerboard underneath the tile? I also plan on tearing out the curent cabinets and installing new ones. Should I install the tile or the cabinets first?
You need to install the Cabinets first in most cases unless you want to run tile all the way underneath. Kind of a waist of money if you ask me.. YES you should use a HARDY BOARD or Concrete Board under the tile over the Chip Board. Your Plywood floors shift under weight from time to time and if this happens you will be faced with pop-ed tiles or worse yet completely broken. Use Drywall Screws to fasten it to the floor and fill the cracks and screw holes with ThinSet Mortar and let dry before you start laying tile. If you put the cabinets in before tile it will give you a VERY straight line to work from as a starting point and will easily save you $100.00-$800.00 in tile and materials by not putting tile under the cabinets. Hope It Helps!!!
Q:How to do the wall tiles off
9, at this time the new paste around the brick will be squeezed out of the gap from the gap, with the mud shovel flat can; 10, with a rag to the brick and the surrounding wipe clean, and then clean the cloth with white cement directly in the brick, over ten minutes after a slight strength of white cement, and then clean the cloth with the tile and wipe clean; 11, clean up things, Qi live!
Q:ok, i tiled my kitchen with the sticky tiles (not expensive ceramic ones or anything like that) then sealed it with a clear tube of sealant. it is about 3 or 4 days later, and the floor looks like crap. the sealer left behind a nasty tar trail or something. While the tile looks glossy and beautiful the places i sealed are dull and def noticable. How do I get rid of the excess???? I've tried scraping, it just don't work. help me!!!!
If you are referring to silicone sealant, you can buy silicone remover.
