1. For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?
—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.
2. What is the MOQ for this tile?
—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.
3. Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?
—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.
- Q: I am looking for an obsolete 8X8 ceramic tile I believe was made by Interceramic. It‘s described on my original sales slip from 1999 as IC WestPalm Surf It‘s solid white in color and has a slight pebble texture. I need to modify my kitchen some and don‘t want to tear up the entire floor to install new type tile. Any ideas how to find this tile if there‘s any left out there.
- IC did away with the 8x8 tile about 8 to 10 years ago .. They revamped there line to a 10 and 13 inch tile..10 didn t last long at all..Soon the did away with most all the red bodied tile.. So please don t even bother trying.. You will have to do something else , like a border and or accents. There were reclamation places that bought up old lots of tile but none that I know about now.. - Q: I have just had a room tiled with porcelain tiles. They are non-shiny matte tiles and it was suggested to me that i should use a sealer. What sealer would be better to use, a water based or solvent based? What are the differences between using the two?
- Penetrating sealer.. Although a water based product, a couple of coats will last years. Mist on( w/ a spray bottle) wipe it thoroughly over the tile and grout with a damp cloth. I dampen a cloth with the sealer. Let set for 10/15 minutes and wipe excess off amd dry. Don t let it puddle and dry. Repeat at least once , twice if possible. The grout must be set for a minimum of 3 days with all the excess grout has all cleaned off. I ve have only used 2 brands over the years Cerama Seal and Miricle 511. - Q: while laying new floor of tiles, i‘m confused above, which tiles are more durable for floor: homogenized floor tiles or glazed floor tiles, or granite floor tiles
- In a home setting it rally doesn t matter what you use. They ll all out last us if they are properly set. And setting is the key from the floor prep to the glueing of the tile with thin set. Two basic type of porcelains, full bodied porcelains where the color goes through out. The backing is basically the same colored as the front. Then you have glazed porcelains where the tile body is porcelain , the porcelain is baked, there is a color or pattern on the surface and then a glaze is applied. Then there is the standard clay bodied tile where the clay is baked , a color on the surface and a glaze and its refired again. Homogenized tiles, and I m not over familiar with them is a very hard tile that has a very low water absorption rate. All are good products but clay tiles are not as true in sizing as most ( not all) porcelains . Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
- Q: for diferent size tiles are there standard grout joint sizes
- It depends on the size of your tile. A lot of 4.25 inch tiles have spacers built in. When you put the tiles in it will give you a 1/8 in gap for you grout. I use 1/4 inch spacers when installing 12 inch tiles.
- Q: I need to install tiles on the floors of a 500 square foot apartment. I am torn between ceramic tile and vinyl. What is the price differential in terms of materials and labor? In otherwords: in total, how much would I pay to have the entire apartment tiled in ceramic vs. vinyl? Please note I am not a DIY person AT ALL so approximate labor prices are crucial. Thanks!
- vinyl tile would be a lot cheaper..off the top of my head and if the place is empty and the floor that the vinyl tile is going over is in good shape,you are probably looking at around 800 dollars........ceramic maybe 3 to 4 thousand......these figures are far from exact but the vinyl tiles could probably be finished in a day,whereas, the ceramic could take 4 to 5 days in all.........
- Q: We recently remodeled our kitchen and are now ready to apply something between the counter and wall cabinets. We are thinking of tile. Our cabinets are a light oak. The counters are a marble looking blend of grey, blue, beige. Our appliances are beige. What color tile would look nice for this? Also, could you use 12x12 tile vs 4x4 or the smaller tile or is smaller tile better? We currently have unpainted drywall. Can you install tile with drywall behind? Or do you need that other type of backing?
- (I prefer the drywall myself.) If you're using ceramic or stone tile, you'll need a backer for the thinset. If you're using stick-on linoleum tiles, just install Luan before the tile. The 4 tiles will look better, but for a beginner, the 12 would be easier to keep straight. Try to come up with a color that matches or refleects the color of the floor.

- The cloudiness you see is called blushing--the remedy will depend on the finish that you used. If it a lacquer you can use blush eliminator, I have never tried it on shellac or enamel. It may go away after it is dry however. Sometimes the moisture in the air will cause the finish to blush.
