- Q: Please mention if you own one or have owned one in your answer.
- Can't comment on a Roomba, but I have it's brother The Scooba for tile/hard floors and I LOVE it!
- Q: I'm looking for a small vacuum cleaner but I don't know where to start. what are the best brands?
- About a year ago I bought a bagless Bissell at Wal-Mart for $42.00 and I just love it. It's small, light weight, has attachments on board and I don't have to buy bags for it. The canister and filter are easy to clean too. I was surprised I liked it so well because the one I had for 11 years without a problem was a Simplicity and I really liked it. The Bissell I bought is smaller, lighter and now that I've used it for about a year, I think I like it better than my old one that cost me over $200 because its easier on my back.
- Q: i forced her before will she hate me forever and never take bath
- sometimes running water and vacuum cleaners and heavy metal makes birds want to take a bath. my cockatiel will land on my shoulder when i wash dishes and by the time i'm done with the dishes she is all worked up croaking and fluffing out her feathers that when i give her a spray bath with warm water she opens her wings and turns around and fluffs out for me! but at any other time she would not like it. buy a bird-bath spray in a pet store. you don't need to keep using it, you just need a spray bottle that never had chemicals in it, you can re-fill it with water. put the bird in the cage and take out all the food to keep it from getting wet. The spray the bird, but try to make the water fall on top of the bird, so spray over the bird to give it a rain shower, don't spray AT the bird. i think this sort of spray-bath is least painful for the bird in that the bird won't hate you too much. give your bird a treat of millet afterward. some birds will bathe themselves if you just leave a dish of water out for 'em. try leaving one out for a month or 6 months and see if the bird uses it.
- Q: Is it true that if you accidentally vacuum metal, that can cause a fire?
- If the metal is hitting against metal as it is being sucked into your vacuum cleaner, then it could cause a spark would could cause a fire. This used to be a problem with the older types of vacuum cleaners because they had a lot of metal as part of their makeup, but plastics have replaced most formerly metal components, so there is little chance of that happening anymore.
- Q: If you have an Oreck vacuum, could you give me some feedback please? My biggest cleaning problem right now is cats. We've gotten rid of all our carpets - vinyl or laminate floors only, which has eliminated all the pet odors. But it is still hard to get rid of all the pet hair (etc) that builds up on all their favorite bedding or couches.I've got my eye on the 1400 Series canister vacuum ($899! What am I thinking??!?!) But if it does what it claims, I think this would be worth it.I appreciate any feedback based on your experience with Oreck products. Thanks!
- I am of the opinion that you can't go wrong purchasing an Oreck product. It is quality--and they have the ability to back up their quality with great service from one of their 450 Clean Home Center stores. To all the Oreck bashers out there--get a life. You are so misinformed. As far as the Consumer Reports ratings, they are a non-objective rating company. They don't accept any sort of advertising money, but will give your product a great review if your company donates to their foundation. That sounds like extortion to me. Don't believe anything you read there--just that the #1 rated product is probably not the best one!!! Buy an Oreck and you will be happy forever!!!!
- Q: Hello ParentsCould you please advice me on buying a vacuum cleaner for my baby's car seat. I was going to buy dyson's hand held one but the review said the battery time was only 4-5minutes after 3hrs of charging, therefore looking for something else that is good and handy and easy to store.thanks for your reply.
- Best okorder and on several other leading consumer sites. It offers strong suction with 5.5 amps and has a stretch hose that lets you clean upholstery, stairs, and cars with no problems. The revolving brush is powered by 1 motor while the suction is done by another motor. The Riser Visor is for carpeted stairs and there is an excellent crevice tool for hard to reach spots. The bagless filter and clean dust cup are easy to clean and the 20-foot cord is long enough for almost any job. Users say they love that it is lightweight (about 5 lbs), has lots of power, and it cleans pet hair off of fabric quite easily. A few people mention that the hose wand is a tad too short, but still say it manages to clean windowsills just fine. The Black Decker CHV1500 15-3/5-Volt HEPA Cyclonic DustBuster ($50) is a close 2nd and worth mentioning here. The Dustbuster from Black Decker has a HEPA filter and a cyclonic-action filter system. Owners say it charges fast, has powerful suction, and is a breeze to clean out. On board attachments include an upholstery brush and crevice tool while the translucent dust bin lets you see just how much debris, hair and dust you are collecting.
- Q: What are the structural principles of a vacuum cleaner?
- In this way, it is possible to form a higher pressure difference with the outside world. The dust and dirt of the suction nozzle are sucked into the dust absorption part with the air, and the dust and dirt are collected in the dust cylinder after the leakage of the leakage device.
- Q: Is it because of cost? What they say about central vacs that makes portable vacuum cleaners look bad? Storage issues? Cost to maintain? Reliability? Hype? Being forced to buy one over a portable?
- I prefer Bissell up right vacuums and if you keep the filter clean...for under one hundred it's a bargin Central vacuum units are pricey and if you get a clog in the hose you have other issues..plus dragging the hose around the baseboard scratches them up Also thing about the dust and dirt blowing and sucking through the line to the holding canister...you are literally...pulling dust and dirt through the house in a hose... the canister is bulky and a pain to empty and if full when dumped it is a dusty mess.. for a less price and a little closet space you have little to lose I would never waste money on a central vacuum unit...buy a Bissell not a dyson and vacuum onward. *(* *(*
- Q: Are Roomba's good vacuum cleaners?
- My latest one is more heavy duty then the first. Gee two Yes I love it. Simple enough to run it every day and definitely better to clean daily then haul out the Big vacuum once a week. Glides from carpet to wood floor to area rugs and ceramic tiles easily. It does tend to chew up the fringe on rugs so I just got rid of those. Love it and would not do without. Picks up gravel, cheerios, dust and tumbleweeds if need be
- Q: I have had several of the cheap vacuums from Walmart and they have all left me infuriated. I need one that will last for more than 2 months. I know that you get what you pay for and I am willing to spend some money on it, but not too much. I have 3 animals, too!
- Buy okorder and find a location near you. If you let me know of a big city in your area, I can get you hooked up with one of the wholesale suppliers.
