Q: ...and no, Miss Blue is not in a funk, just asking seniors what they do to get over the blues...lolY/A wanted this in the category of Home and Garden. (DIY-do it yourself.) I am dying laughing here over that one. I suppose we got the answer....just do it yourself! roflmbo
I grab myself by the posterior and shake it like all get-out. That usually does the trick but if I am unsure I get my old Roan saddled and head for the South Pasture or the River Pasture By the time I am through talking to this old worn-out cowhand I have my head screwed on straight again and I am at peace with the world. Some how, out there by myself, I separate those things that I can change from those things that I can not change and everything just sorta comes into focus. After I have come to grips with everything and separated reality from foolish thinking I am well on the trail to recovery and in the distance, if I squint, I can see the silver lining around the edges of the dark clouds.
Q: Does the television show Home Garden Television (HGTV) influence you to improve your home and garden?
I'm sorry. I don't have cable. I'm afraid I spend much of my spare time in my woodworking shop, or on line. I do watch the Woodwright Shop on PBS. Not too keen on New Yankee...too many gizmo tools.
Q: the food and drug administration claims it does not have enough man power to inspect everyone's garden for food safety.
I wish he would make stupidity illegal.
Q: My grandmother updated her cookbook and passed on to my mother but the old recipe is not in any of the versions we currently have. If anyone has an old copy or the recipe it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Here is the recipe from my B H G Cookbook that I got in 7th grade cooking class. That would have been about 1950. I hope this is the recipe you are looking for. It sounds delicious. STUFFED ZUCCHINI SQUASH - BETTER HOMES GARDENS 6 medium zucchini 3 cups soft bread crumbs 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 small onion, minced 3 tablespoons minced parsley 1 teaspoon salt Dash pepper 2 beaten eggs 2 tablespoons butter or margarine Wash zucchini, cut off ends; don't peel. Cook in boiling salted water for 5 minutes. Halve them lengthwise, remove pulp with spoon. Combine pulp with bread crumbs, cheese, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and eggs. Fill zucchini shells. Dot with butter; sprinkle with more cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

Q: I understand that the shrinking and expanding of the logs is a problem with log homes. Is this less with cedar logs? Is it ok to mix log types such as cedar and oak? Is there a sealer that will stop the logs from getting enough moister to expand?Have any of you ever used cement between the logs like the older style cabins had? Any body out there a log home builder?I have seen homes with adjustment bolts to at the top of the walls to compensate for the expansion. But i do not see that in many photos in the log home magazines, does this mean they are just shooting the photos from angles that will not allow the viewer to see the bolts?............. And in reality all log homes have these bolts, and it is unavoidable or what? If anyone can help me with this I would be thankful.
I doubt that there are experts in log houses on this site, though you may find some over in the Home Garden section. However, it IS pretty easy to find issues regarding log houses on the internet, and that is where you might want to start your research. This site is a log house maintenance firm which discusses many problems those types of houses has, including rot, types of chinking, etc.
Q: I am interested in flowering plants.
there are many garden consultancys around...just try to search in ur directoty.... and give a ring the come up with lot of varities of garden designing...u will surely love it...just try....i u like u can go ahead...i have seen such thing in a recent botanical mall held in HYDERABAD
Q: width must be provided or the image will not display. I pasted the above and no image displayed. I went back to Webshots and learned that the image size is 425 pixels. I presume the height is greater than the width since the image displays that way, so I reason that the height will be 225 and the width will be 200... but I don't know how to alter the code to include these requirements.

Q: Has anyone joined the Life Membership with NHGC? I am wondering if it is worth it.
I also joined 2010 and have not received anything from them in a very long time. (3-4 yrs). I am a premier member got a few tools to try and even gave review. Now trying to get info for my new yard. Can t get there from here. My member # is 70381064. My question is wtf did I pay for. Please advice where we can find answers or product. Will be going back to Beck. Have 3/4 acre to landscape. Land is ready to start getting idea of planting. Want to have all my ducks in a row for a beautiful yard I have waited for, for 40 years.
Q: We are purchasing our home from our landlord and they have to do an appraisal. The house is fine and I am not really worried about except for the fact that my backyard has a ton of flower gardens and I have not had time to weed them. Do I need to hire someone to help me clean them up before they come? Also, Do they go through your closets and stuff like that? Thanks.
Unless the yards are really a mess it shouldn't make a difference in the appraised value of your house. Appraisers have some latitude considering over all curb appeal. They will often take the overall appearance into consideration especially when the property is close to the needed amount to make the loan.....if the property really looks good they might bump the value up 2%-5% to meet the loan requirement. I have seen appraisers bump up the price as high as 10% because of the curb appeal (several years ago).....but in today's market appraisers are being much more cautious and conservative. Now it isn't unusual for lenders to get a second appraisal.
