- Q: So I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve a couple months ago, I am 20 now and I was told that the defect normal dosent cause problems untill late 30's-40's. I have been having chest pains and at times sever palpitations. Has anyone eles gone through this? Anyone older that has experience with this problem?

- Q: Liquid propane leaving the reflux pump of a distillation column flows through a 3.5 in ID pipe at a flowrate of 90 lbm/s. There is a flowrate control valve in this line, and it is set such that the pressure drop across the valve (delta)P=15 lbf/in^2. Upstream of the valve , the pressure P1=18 bar and the temperature T1=310 K. Assume there is negligible heat transfer with the surroundings and that the density of the liquid does not change significantly.a) What is the kinetic energy change across the valve?b) What is the enthalpy change across the valve?c) What is the temperature change across the valve?d) What is the entropy change across the valve?
- If there is NO change in the density of liquid propane as it passes through the valve, and if the size (area) of the pipe upstream and downstream of the valve is the same, then a) there will be no change in the velocity of propane, hence there will be no kinetic energy change. b) this is a process of throttling, with no change in kinetic energy, hence there is no change in the enthalpy. c) temperature change can be determined using the detailed property table of propane, but if it is an almost-incompressible liquid, then this too, will be negligible. d) dh = T ds + v dp. Since there is no change in h, integrate this along a constant h line from inlet to exit (upstream to downstream) and you will get ds = -(v/T) dp. Since p reduces from inlet to exit, the change in entropy will be positive. This is as expected. If we assume density (=1/v) and temperature (T) to remain constant, then the change in entropy will be s_downstream - s_upstream = (p_upstream - p_downstream) v /T.
- Q: I have a honda civic and i took it to get an oil change and they told me that i had an oil leak because my valve cover needed replacing. I did not let them do the work. I called my personal mechanic and he's out of commission for a little while, so he referred me to a friend of his. He said he cleaned all of the built up oil and replaced the valve cover. I noticed yesterday that my car looks like it is leaking oil really bad. I'm wondering, could this be from him washing the old oil that was leaking? My belts seem to be squeaking, like they do when it rains. Any ideas? could this just be excess water that he cleaned it out with?
- To determine If the valve cover-gasket is leaking again, take the car to a wand-type car wash. Shut the motor off, open the hood and thoroughly wash the engine and compartment down with hot water and soap. Concentrate on the valve cover itself and the mating surface between the valve cover and cylinder head. Rinse with hot water spray. This is the only way to clean-up the previous mess so everything will be dry and clean. Use a flash-light if you have one to inspect all the way around the lip of the valve cover to look for any bright, shiny oil that could be leaking again after a short drive. Having been cleaning engine compartments for 45 years at car washes, don't worry about electrical connections, cracking or breaking anything. There are quite a few tricks to make valve covers seal properly. To start with the cylinder head has to be clean and dry, the valve cover had to be clean, *flat and dry and use only premium Felpro, silicone impregnated valve cover gaskets.
- Q: I gotta 89 Crx si. Just wondering if you could put on a blow off valve and it work without it boosted
- you can put one on but it wont work.... BUT if you want the whole turb whistle sound you can buy one of those turbo whistles you can put it on the end of your exhuast and it will make that turbo sound but no BOV
- Q: Cylinder head valves. Can't really differentiate the difference between burnt and just carbon build up on valves. Are they the same?If I the valves have no cracks or holes, can I clean the carbon off of them and reuse them.If they don't leak when I re-leak test them, are they then good to use?Had very little compression in one cylinder. What cleaner is safe to use on the valves?I know I should replace all, but any money I can save right now, helps a lot. Also I seen a method of re-lapping the valves by using a tool (stick with a suction cup on end that sticks to valve surface) that you spin while valve is seated. It refinishes the seat and recreates the seal/re-laps. Appears to work and seal just fine. Anything really wrong with this method?
- Why not just replace the valves.
- Q: Getting a piston for my yz and It says power valve must be modified for .040 or larger soo what does that mean and how do you do it.?
- If you are replacing stock with stock, you don't. I wouldn't. That bike is powerful enough without a bore kit.
- Q: hello!I'm designing a floor cleaner and for a water release system i was thinking of using a ball valve, connected to an actuator, however i'm not fully sure what to look for, and although I can buy the actuator and ball valve together, I'm not sure how to connect it to a motor and battery? If anyone can help my with this I'd really appreciate it!!Thank You!!
- it is going to be to long of an answere to bypass by, yet you have a often closed valve and a often open valve. So while air is provided, one opens and the different closes. you may artwork something out with that based how your set up is going to be. it rather is the solenoids i'm talking approximately.
- Q: As title. What's an easy way to remember: mitral valve leaflets are anterior and posterior leaflets; tricuspid leaflets are anterior, posterior, and septal (medial); aortic valve leaflets are left, right, posterior leaflets; pulmonary valve leaflets are left, right, anterior leaflets? It's easy to remember all but one valve (mitral) have three leaflets each. Physically aortic root sits behind pulmonary trunk, I guess that makes it easy to remember aortic valve has left, right, Posterior; and that pulmonary valve has left, right, anterior leaflets. Where I'm running out of ideas now is how to remember tricuspid has anterior, posterior and septal leaflets... Please help.Thanks.
- The tricuspid valve has three leaflets which are thin and membranous with commissures that appear more like indentations than true commissures. The TV apparatus is similar to the mitral valve but has greater variability and thinner leaflets. The three leaflets are the anterior, septal and posterior leaflets, with the anterior and septal being larger than the posterior leaflet. TV= tricuspid valve tri-cuspid=3(three leaflets) leaflets=3leaflets Tricuspid: Having three flaps or cusps. The valve that is called the tricuspid valve is situated between the right atrium and right ventricle and permits blood to flow only from the atrium into the ventricle. The aortic valve in the heart also has three cusps. Tricuspid valve (Anat.), the valve, consisting of three triangular membranous flaps, at the opening of the right auricle into the right ventricle in the heart of most mammals; -- sometimes called the tricuspid valves, each flap being regarded as a valve. Take care as always
- Q: I want to wash it but don't know what to oil the valves with because I was told not to use mellophone/trumpet valve oil so would the sewing machine oil be okay to use with out damaging me Horn?I not any other safe substitutions?
- If you have a Walmart nearby you are in good shape. Sewing machine oil is too thick for the valves, it will slow them down....... not damage the horn. Mot on this oil later, A great replacement for rotor oil is lantern oil from Walmart or a hardware store. It is what is burned in old type oil lamps. It comes in quarts and is very cheap. You can also get different aromas in some stores. Sewing machine oil should NOT be used inside the valves....... but it is recommended for the little crack where the moving part of the valve comes out of the bottom of the valve case. It is also what you can use on the top of the valve under the valve cap. So rotor oil INSIDE THE VALVE and Sewing machine oil on the top and bottom bearings.
- Q: I own a 1982 Pontiac Firebird base model which has recently started leaking oil from its Proportioning Valve. I have looked all over the internet for a replacement, and it turns out GM has discontinued the part. Now im faced with difficult and risky task of attempting to fix it, or turn it over to a repair shop as a last resort. The valve seems to leak out of a small circle with a hole the size of a needle inside which was covered by a rubber gasket. I have no clue what this does, and how to repair it.
- First up is that the valve is not leaking oil, it is leaking brake fluid. That is bad. The proportioning valve controls the brake pressure to the rear brakes. Most of the braking is done with the front brakes and without the valve you could lock up the rear brakes on medium to hard stops and the rear end could loose traction, that would be a bad thing on a sharp turn. With that said please replace the valve I have never seen a repair kit for them. Have you looked at to GM for the part? They may also have knowledge on a conversion of the master cylinder with the valve built in.
