- The wheel bearings will allow the wheel to wobble left and right when it has either worn out or is loose. However on front wheel drive cars they dont come loose like they do on rear wheel drive cars. Jack the wheel up and push back and forth on it at the 3 and 9oclock positions. If it moves the wheel bearing is bad.
