If you are upgrading after 2 years on your contract, then certain but usually low-end phones can be upgraded to for free. That stuff you hear about upgrading to, like a galaxy 4 at no extra cost because T-Mobile has the best upgrade plan, is basically them saying you can have this phone for so and so a month. In the end you are leasing a phone like that. Not getting it free.

- For most cell (mobile) phones the answer is no. In the UK the cell phone company 3 offers a skype mobile phone that provides free skype to skype calls, along with the regular cell phone features at regular rates. In the USA you can load a skype application on the iPhone, iTouch, Nokia N800/N810 and others. Skype calls on these units do NOT go over the cell phone network, but rather use a local (free) wifi hotspot. I use the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype ( F1PP000GN-SK ) from amazon ($129.35), it works fine if you have a local free wifi hotspot (or Boingo). Out of these areas it is dead.

- Noooo. Get the G1 phone from T Mobile. Its T Mobiles head phone, its a IPhone and Sidekick in one, because its touchscreen and has a slider keyboard. Right now T Mobile is preordering it to customers for 179$ if you have been in your contract for atlest half or more a year. But you wait until the phone goes orginally on sale the phone is going to be 299$. And then 399$. I wouldnt get the Sidekick simply because its now boring. tR
