- First of all, you have to specify the exact model of your mobile phone. Unless it is running Symbian, Windows Mobile or PalmOS, you can't install an anti-virus program on it and you don't have to, either - there are neither viruses, nor anti-virus programs for the phones running proprietary operating systems. Even if it is running one of the three operating systems mentioned above, unless it is Symbian S60 R2, the threat is negligible - there are only a couple of malicious programs for the other operating systems (or even brands of Symbian) and the probability of your phone getting infected is virtually nil. Still, many anti-virus producers will gladly sell you an anti-virus program for Windows Mobile, PalmOS, Symbian UIQ or Symbian S60 R3 - despite that you don't really need one. Now, if your phone is running Symbian S60 R2, you really need an anti-virus program for it - there are hundreds of malicious programs (viruses and Trojan horses) for this environment. However, there is no free such program that is sufficiently good. So, you'll have to decide what is more important - price or quality. If the program being free is the most important criterion, try Calvin Stinger (first of the links below). If the program being good is more important to you, then try F-Secure's anti-virus program (the second link below). If neither of them works for you for some reason, ask again and I'll provide you a list of a couple of dozens anti-virus programs for mobile phones.

If it is an unlocked version you would be able to, but if it says T-Mobile at the top and the person you got it from didn't illegally unlock it then it will only work with T-Mobile service. Unlocked phones are usually very expensive so I feel like you probably don't have an unlocked version

- Boost mobile iden/walkie talkie runs on the Nextel iden nationwide network. Their sims can work on any Boost mobile walkie talkie or Nextel phone. Their sims will not work in any other type of phone like Att or Tmobile types. You are pretty much stuck with their lineup. Unless you use Boost cdma. There are TWO Boost mobiles. The Boost cdma is a Boost without walkie talkie or sim on the Sprint network. Sprint owns both Boost mobiles. The good thing about the cdma network is that it is generally faster and more reliable then Boost iden and you can use any Sprint phone after you first activate with a Boost cdma phone then transfer the account to the Sprint phone (You CAN'T open a Boost cdma account with a Sprint phone at the beginning.). Boost cdma recently dropped their prices so that they too have a nationwide $50 unlimited everything plan now. You can buy an older Boost cdma phone, a hot Sprint phone, call 1-877-TLK-MORE , ask for Unlimited by Boost (cdma) ,pay $15 to activate, either port your old number or get a number from the closest area to your area code (they only have phone numbers for thirteen states ). They might say they don't have your state or they need an out of state address. Just give them a Cali or Texas address that you find and port your local number. Boost cdma has better customer service, faster web , faster and more reliable texts and no where near as much dropped phone calls as Boost iden does. Whatever you choose, good luck.

- Honestly I would wait for a different one. I am a best bu mobile employee and i had the phone for about 4 months and just thought it could of been better. 1. The battery is so dreadful, i got maybe 4hrs out of it. 2. The signal strength on the phone was absolutely terrible. I never got more than 3 bars in places i would normally get full strength and that was on other virgin mobile phones. 3. The camera on the back would be really funky sometimes. It would show any picture i took with a blue color and i had no effects on it. 4. It got really dirty really quickly and the back cover never really fits on there correctly. I would say wait, i believe they should be getting some new phones to virgin sometime late feb.-mid march.

- Well, you can put a Boost sim in a Nextel phone. The Blackberry Curve 8350 for Nextel is cheaper then the i9. You would have to put third party software like Opera mini for web and Googlevoice for texting to get around the lack of Blackberry services though. Max is about $200 in near mint condition. There are tons of other cheaper Nextel phones like the i836, which is a basic but good looking flip phone, the Blackberry 7100i, an okay looking Blackberry that goes for under $50 used (needs same setup as other Blackberry to fully work though), the i920 and i930 are Windows mobile smartphones that if you have them unlocked, can use Tmobile and Att sims as well as Boost and Nextel. They are the only phones in the entire walkie talkie iden lineup that can do this. They can't send texts with Boost sims, but you can try and rig an im program like Aim or Googlevoice to get it to work as a substitute. There are dozens of models of older Nextels . A lot of them aren't very pretty, but a few of them are okay looking . And many of them are dirt cheap and can work with your Boost sims. Craigslist and OKorder.
