If the new phone needs a micro-SIM you can find instructions online showing how to cut it down to size, or you can order a micro-SIM (or get one free from a T-Mobile shop) and get your number ported from the old SIM to the new one (takes up to 48 hours). If the phone you've bought has been reported lost/stolen then it will get blocked and your SIM will not work on it. The phone will also not belong to you either, despite having handed over money for it. If you are on a CDMA network then you will have to tell T-Mobile the IMEI.

I am deaf. I do not talk on the phone at all, but I text all of the time. Texting, along with e-mail and IM-ing, are the only real ways that I can keep in touch with people. There are some cell phones, like mine, that are designed with a special feature that makes them compatible with many types of hearing aids. You don't have to look too far to find a new cell phone with this feature; my phone is a Samsung Tracfone, and it is HAC. (Hearing Aid Compatible) There are other phones that are specially designed for people with other disabilities. Like, for example, there are phones that are voice activated, or they have bigger buttons and displays. These features can be especially helpful for people with disabilities.
