Q: I would like to know what GPRS stand for and how it works with our mobile phones.: General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones. It is often described as 2.5G, that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM standards releases starting with Release 97 and onwards. First it was standardized by ETSI but now that effort has been handed onto the 3GPP.

Q: I have a mobile phone, an LG CU515. For as long as I've had it, I've experienced disruption of service. At random parts of the day, in any weather condition, I will hear a slight beep, and then open my phone only to read, Smartchip not allowed MM#The phone isn't shutting itself off, I just can't make or receive any calls, or text messages. WhenI'm in the process of an Instant Message, I'm immediately signed out. I've found powering it off, and then back on, fixes the problem. I miss calls and texts if I don't have the phone around me, as I don't hear the slight noise that always sounds, when these distruptions occur. I always get the messages that are missed, once I power the phone off and on.I've had the phone for at least 4 months. I've talked to 4 different 'experts' at ATT, but they're clueless. I'm very simple. I don't ask for much, but this is quite bothersome. Can you advise?: No need to be upset, Princess-all old people can't use cell phones. Problem is, mobiles don't last forever- esp. batteries if you are charging them every other day. 4 months is a bit early for the things you are experiencing, so take it back. If you can't do that, then get the cheapest one you can buy. You don't need 200 million pixel video camera on it if you won't use it. JUST MAKE SURE YOU CAN GO ON THE NET WITH IT! Don't forget to take your chip out and make sure the one you do buy is tri-band. But just keep phoning ATT and complain. I am guessing it is a free number, so when you are watching tv, having lunch, can't sleep, in the toilet, having a swim-just phone them. All the time, just keep going. You might get a free phone out of it-I did! 3.

Q: I really LOVE the virgin mobile phone, and i want to get it but i wanted to know if any virgin mobile phones are going to come out soon. I am a best bu mobile employee and i had the phone for about 4 months and just thought it could of been better. 1. The battery is so dreadful, i got maybe 4hrs out of it. 2. The signal strength on the phone was absolutely terrible. I never got more than 3 bars in places i would normally get full strength and that was on other virgin mobile phones. 3. The camera on the back would be really funky sometimes. It would show any picture i took with a blue color and i had no effects on it. 4. It got really dirty really quickly and the back cover never really fits on there correctly. I would say wait, i believe they should be getting some new phones to virgin sometime late feb.-mid march.

Q: I would love some advice, I'm going to sign up for t-mobile but don't know which new phone has the best battery life-- I had a lot of problems with my last phone at verizon, so its really important to me that it'll last like at least two days also good keys for texting, and preferably a slider. I'm on a budget, so $50 or under is the best! I've been looking at samsung blast but heard it had bad battery quality: My boyfriend and I both have T-Mobile. He has the blast and I had the Nokia 5310 (i recently upgraded to the G1.) The blast is an ok phone. The battery life is not anything amazing but it is ok. I really liked my Nokia 5310. It was compact, had a great music player and it had a long battery life. I know its not a slider phone but you should really check it out. They also have them on sale for $50, just at your budget!

Q: Bluetooth headsets for mobile phones: bluetooth headset and mobile phone goes hand in hand. you can't activate bluetooth without the phone. but using bluetooth headset is better than grabbing your phone at your pocket to answer a call. there is a button on the headset and once you receive a call, just press it and start to talk. press it again after the conversation. there is also a limit of distance wherein you can place your cellphone at the table while you have the bluetooth in you. mine has a distance limit of 10meters away on clear area wherein i can receive the call even if the mobile is a bit away from me. depending on the type of your bluetooth headset. *please be aware that during driving car, you cannot use it as police officers will pull you over if you do so. just like you cannot use the cellphone too.

Q: Phone did not sound how to get?: If not mute the function of the words, then you can try to restore all the settings of the phone.
