- Q: I am at a loss right now because i cant find the phone that fits me i love the blackberry tour but the no wifi thing really bothers me. i started to look at the windows mobile phones because of the fact of internet explorer mobile which in my opinion is a much easier to navigate browser than the black berry one and also the microsoft officebut the short battery life and the fact that most of them are touch screen turns me away from themm( i just dont do touch screen).I definately want a qwerty keyboardAny advice on a good phone???
- Blackberries are great. They have great hardware, a decent appstore, and some of the best keyboards. Windows Mobile has a lot of choices of phones to choose from but the fact is windows mobile is not a very reliable OS. Its usuable but what I'm saying is I prefer the blackberry (although WM probably has better web browsing). Phones to choose: Blackberry- Curve 8900, Bold, Storm 2 (no QWERTY) WM- Jack, Epix, Blackjack 2 (All of these have INCREDIBLE battery life), then any HTC phone with WM.
- Q: Hi,I can't find a decent, easy-to-read (and understand) website which will thoroughly explain most of the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phone masts. So I decided that maybe some of you clever people could help me! You can either:a) Give me a good link to a page about the advantages and dasadvantages of mobile phone masts;OR:-b) You could type them in your answer to me if you know a few good ones already. Thanks v. v. v. much in advance! :D
- Hi, Mobile phone masts are really antennas for base-stations. In communications the cell phone talks to the base station, and vice versa. I am guessing you are asking for disadvantages from a non technical communications standpoint, like: what would happen if we didn't have them? If not, let me know, I'll give you a technical answer. We wouldn't be able to use cell phones if we didn't have towers. Cell phones use the base stations to connect to the public grid, and the public communication grid is all cables and wires. Since you need a way to get from wireless to wire you have masts.
- Q: Hi i have been doing some research into mobile phones and i came across a few terms that really confused me, i understand that when you talk on the phone the data is converted from your voice into digital signals, the part i dont understand is where modulation such as PSK occurs and how TDMA and CDMA fits into all of this can someone tell me what the relation is between these things.thank you
- There are a few parts to a mobile phone system: most obviously you have the radio interface, some kind of two way radio link between the handset and the 'base station'. This transmitts and recieves digital data using quadrature phase shift keying (PSK). This is a kind of modulation very similar to FM, but is used with digital signals rather than analogue signals. So the digital data is used to phase shift modulate an RF carrier which is then transmitted, and picked up by the base station, which then demodulates the PSK signal to recover the digital data. This is all very well and good, but what do we do when we have many users? How can the base station distinguish between the signal from one hand set and another? This is where Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) come into play. TDMA (used in GSM systems) is a kind of time division multiplexing. Each user gets a certain 'time slot' in which they are allowed to transmit their PSK signal in. So each user takes a turn and sends a few bytes at a time. In GSM there are 8 time slots (I think, i cannot recall exactly) in each channel (frequency). The bit rate is low and special vocoders are used to get voice audio into a low bit rate. CDMA works differently, on principles originated by an Austrian actor (and electrical engineer and mathematician!) Hedy Lamarr
- Q: Can I use my boost mobile (minutes) cell phone number for my google voice to make calls and can I use my phone to talk to the person I'm calling if I don't have a headset mic to use on my computer???
- I even have heard that there grow to be an unexpected inflow of purchasers that sprint/Nextel did no longer anticipate and that calls and textual content textile messages have been dropped/not on time because of this. boost runs on the Nextel community and it isn't the final. Virgin cellular has a similar plan and greater beneficial telephones that it is recommended to look at. stable success!
- Q: I'm currently with Verizon right now and I have a Blackberry. I have a really cute Samsung phone too that I used when I was with T-mobile. If my blackberry ever dies or something like that, can I use the samsung phone?
- nope, because Verizon Phones dont have sim cards, and T mobile phones requires a Sim card to function the only other carrier you would be able to use that t mobile phone(if its unlocked) with would be ATT. and any other one that carries a Sim card(not sure if sprint has it)
- Q: Why smart phones often crashes?
- Improper operation leads to crash; low ambient temperature leads to crash.
- Q: i just broke my phone and its a t mobile. i need a new phone, but just the phone, no plan or anything. can anyone help out?
- Unfortunately your only choice is to buy a phone at invoice price. If you have a t-mobile account currently you can upgrade for a discounted price on any phone you want, but it WILL extend your contract for 2 years. The only way to avoid the contact extension is to buy the phone at the invoice price. You can go to any t-mobile store and they would be more than happy to help you.
- Q: i have a t-mobile phone with an att sim card, it says i need a subsidy code, anybody work for t-moble or att that knows
- If you had an account with T-Mobile that you paid-in-full they will give you the unlock code through customer service.
- Q: If I were to go to a T-Mobile store, and buy, say a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, for FULL price, could I use it with another carrier like ATT, or Straight Talk?Do T-Mobile phones come unlocked since I did buy it full price?
- If I were to go to a T-Mobile store, and buy, say a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, for FULL price, could I use it with another carrier like ATT, or Straight Talk? ------------ no…. tmobile wont sell you’re a phone at full price no matter how much you beg them Do T-Mobile phones come unlocked since I did buy it full price? ---------- no, contract, subsidy, or full price still means its locked. 1) Wireless Carrier stores, called CORS (company owned retail stores), do not sell phones at full price to non-customers. Either you are already a customer of theirs…. Or…. plan on being a customer of theirs in the next 10-15 minutes. Lmao 2) Branded wireless carrier phones sold at Full Price (499-699) on national retailer sotres and sites (walmart, amazon, radioshack, best buy) are locked to that carrier. You must call the carrier to obtain the unlock code. 3) Non-branded wireless carrier phones are sold ONLY by the OEM and are naturally unlocked, may/may not have additional hardware/software installed than basic wireless carrier versions, and are geared, mod’d more to developers and techs rather than the idiot sheeple of the general public. They are $699-$999…
- Q: Any other mobile phone suggestions
- I have the phone. The touchscreen is very responsive and easy to use, and everything on the phone like messaging and calling is good. The 3.2 megapixel camera is also pretty good too! It has quite a few little extras that are quite nice like the basic calculator as well as a converter which is useful. The only thing i find really frustrating about the phone is that it doesnt allow you to put any content on it such as new games and applications unless they are paid for! It doesnt have a stylus as it is sometimes advertised. The other thing is it can be difficult to connect it to a pc because my laptop with vista can never locate the driver. The last complaint i have is the headphones. They're rubbish. but other then that the phone works well and is very stylish if you only want it for the basic calling, texting etc. hope this helps.
