Amp'd Mobile's phones are MVNO, which piggybacks off of Verizon's CDMA EV-DO network in the US or Telus Mobility's CDMA EV-DO network in Canada. CDMA does not use sim cards. Cingular's phones and network are GSM, which require a sim card in order to work. They are two completely different technologies and are not compatible with each other.
