Q: *Is there
vacuum cleaner?
Q: I am looking to buy a good, inexpensive hand-held vacuum cleaner for a friend who lives in a dorm at college. Her room doesn't have any carpeting (except for a rug), but the floor is not very clean. I know a lot of the ones I have looked at on the Target and Walmart sites are around $20. Are they any good? Which brand(s) do you prefer, and where can I find them? Please be specific! Thanks!
I work in a vacuum sales/repair shop and I believe the Dirt Devil classic or ultra vac are your best choices. They are bagless/bagged units. They are NOT cordless. They only corless I sell, is a high power unit for about $70. The DD will run about 40-60.
Q: Since the Vacuum Cleaner was the staple household appliance for the 1950's housewife, and woman are still targeted as the wider market for vacuum sales e.g woman are used to advertise them. I am curious to know what this relationship says?It might seem to be a silly question, and perhaps my wording isnt correct, but it is something which interests me and I would appreciate honest answers.
The majority of people vacuuming are still women.
Q: I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. I can vacuum over a small piece of trash in the living room and the vacuum just pushes the trash around, lol. Help!
Bissell okorder /... but you can also see the others they have on the site as well. I cannot say enough about this vacuum, because it is also fairly quiet so it doesn't freak the cats out completely (one is still set on slaying the great beast, but he also chases his own shadow so it is more him than the vacuum).
Q: ?? Poll: When you were wee little, were you afraid of vacuum cleaners?
Not really afraid, more in fun that I hid in the vacuum cleaner closet thinking it would never find me there while it was in use. I loved small spaces and was not in the least claustrophobic.
Q: Hi,I am looking to buy a vacuum cleaners but am unsure on which one to get? Does anyone have any good recommendations. My price range is about ?150, preferably not a Dyson; and obviously lots of suction lolI have some animal so maybe one with a animal section or something.Oh, BTW i would preferably upright. Thanks
Well, amongst folks with animals, the Dyson is the favorite. We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.
Q: i Can anyone give me more suggestions on this question. I have a collie that lives in my house at times, an carpet an vinyl floors in my house. Is there something better than the Miele S5981 Capricorn with SEB-236 Power brush.
Ted I have the miele s 7260 and it works pretty good. It's made especially for dog and cat hair
Q: Hi, I'm looking for an answer from someone who subscribes to consumer reports magazine. When was their last article on vacuum cleaners published? I'm looking for a comprehensive review of vacuums, not one article on a specific model. Thanks for the help
Pop into your local library and see if they have the 2010 Buying Guide that Consumer Reports puts out. That's the last one I remember seeing. However, I will warn you, I was disappointed. They rated Hoover very high and after having two of them and nothing but trouble with no results from Hoover, I went to a Bissell Healthy Home. Now happy as a clam with my vacuum.
Q: I have 2 vacuum cleaners, both need new electrical cords! How do I replace them?
I ran over my cord one time and had to take my vacuum cleaner to a repair shop to have a new cord put on. It was cheap. Maybe it was about 12 or 15 dollars.
Q: my mom has a vacuum cleaner that is electrical and has a filter that our suppose to dump and well shes gone threw tons of vacuum cleaners and just gave up and is keeping this one well it gets clogged up and a lot of areas and her birthday is coming up and i would like to fix it for her so she doesn't have to put up with it any more what do i do?
First of all, unless your mother is very enthusiastic about her vacuuming, don't fix it for her birthday. Take her out to dinner, buy her a nice pair of slippers and her favorite perfume. Not a vacuum. All you can do is clean it out as much as you can. Look for larger objects that may have been sucked in and remove them. If it is clogged with a bunch of hair from someone or some pet, try and stop that hair from reaching the floor. Combing your pet on a regular basis and throwing away the hair not only helps your animal in the summer heat, but also keeps the hair off the floor. Good luck, and find a better gift for your mom than a working vacuum.
