- Q: What is the price?
- Of course, solid wood, 10 square of solid wood about 3000 or more. Strengthen the composite of about 1500-2000.
- Q: It will be in my room on the second floor. I am building it myself, as well as the stand. Will it come crashing through the floor of my house?
- Check the spacing of the floor joists and make sure the tank is placed running across them and not along the length of them. You want it to be on at least 3 joists. I have a 135 gallon that I'm now nervous to set up because my house was built crappy and the floor joist are 3ft apart. Most floor joists should be 12 - 16 on center
- Q: Three-tier parquet and multi-layer parquet What is the difference
- Three-story solid wood, relatively close to the solid wood flooring, foot feeling and the price difference is not much stability slightly improved, can be seen as pure solid wood flooring improved products; multi-layer solid wood is relatively pure wood composite floor, foot Pure solid wood slightly down, but in exchange for the high stability and low price, but also can do geothermal floor. So it has become Europe and the United States and other developed countries, ordinary residents of the first home pendant products! Is the absolute mainstream of the international market!
- Q: Can anyone advise on why a solid concrete floor would be favourable over a suspended timber or beam and block ground floor. The building is to use strip foundation on a gravel soil. Half the ground floor is to accomodate a storage area used to hold plumbing materials, so the live loading will be reasonably high. Thanks
- It is cheaper to build a solid concrete floor than a suspended one and it can more easily be designed to hold more weight than can a suspended floor. Another advantage of a concrete floor is that animals (rats, mice, etc.) can not get under the building and live there. The disadvantage of a solid concrete floor is that concrete is porous and it tends to draw up moisture from the ground and anything sitting on the concrete for a long time can get wet. Of course, the gravel should drain away any water that gets under the building, but if the soil is clay or any soil that water might sit on for a long time, the water can build up under the house and the concrete floor can get wet. Another disadvantage is that any radon gas that might come up from the ground will get into the building. With a raised foundation at least some of that gas would be vented out and not as much would get into the building. I hope this helps.
- Q: floor hockey
- Moving the ball with you're stick in a quick back to back motion while maintaining control. LITY - I played floor hockey at the Y a few years back and the kid dribbled his dinner all over the floor from the excitement
- Q: We woke up this morning to a flood on our living room. It did not drip from above and we have no idea where it can from not the bathroom or the kitchen either. We live in underground apt with tile floor is it possible it is seeping through the tile?
- if the water s dirty, i would say it is coming from underneath, if it is clean water, i would say you have a pipe leak somewhere
- Q: Over time I have noticed what appears to be my bathroom tiles moving out of place, as if the floor is slowing caving in. I do have an older house and there has been water leakage from the bathtub into the kitchen that has since been fixed. My question is what kind of professional do I call to take some look at my bathroom floor/kitchen ceiling for repair?
- well its called a realtor.. you wont want to hear what a contractor has to say.. depending on the damage and the possibility of mold you could be 10K deep before a faucet turns on.. what you described is major damage to the point joist need to be replaced you may luck out and new subfloor installed but to get to that nearly the entire bathroom needs to be ripped out. you as a human sees a bit of concave but what you dont see is the decades of damage so imagine ripping EVERYTHING out of your bathroom and rebuilding it.. again if you have describeds this correct so mutch water has caused the beams to bend.. you might be able to save the floor joist but you may need to remove the entire bathrooms floor is possible it only gets worse under the tub..
- Q: Anyone know how to white wash a maple gym floor like at the Cleveland Cavaliers facility?
- When you refinish a hardwood floor, you sand off the old finish, apply a stain, remove the excess, let that dry, and then apply a protective coating. I've never done a whitewash stain on a floor. But, I imagine you would just use a whitewash instead of the darker stain and everything else is the same. I would suggest, though, that you get a sample piece of hardwood flooring and try it out before committing to the whole floor. BTW - Refinishing a hardwood floor costs about $4 - $5 a square foot, plus an additional 50 cents a square foot for additional protective coatings.
- Q: Is dance flooring that plastic floor stuff, linoleum??Is it the same thing, or something else?Because I want to buy some cheap floor that is suitable for dancing on, maybe even the same as the ones they have in dance studios.Do you know:a) What dance floor is?b) Can you buy it cheap?c) Is there any flooring similar?d) Where can you buy them from?Thank you xx
- My girlfriend and I do ballroom dancing. The best floorings we have danced on are clean and recently waxed wood flooring and marble. Most dance studios I visited before signing up for lessons for us had parquet wood floors for their dance floors. Likewise for most halls that were rented for weddings we've attended. The marble floor of one hall was really nice to dance on as well, but the cost may be prohibitive since marble isn't cheap. The thing about clean and waxed wood floors is that it allows the women's feet to pivot for turns-- it is neither too slippery nor too sticky. Parquet floors, in my humble opinion, are not pretty. However they are only slightly more expensive than a good linoleum floor where I am at and you can make the dance floor any size you like easily since they are a floating floor. I have never had the opportunity to dance on linoleum, but if I think back I remember them being more sticky than I would prefer. If the floor is too sticky then it can put too much torsion on the girls ankle which is the case when you have a dirty unwaxed wood floor as well. I think the linoleum in all the kitchens I've ever been in were to 'soft' and gave too much traction. We did dance on the cheap, hard vinyl composition you see in schools, hospitals, and department stores once. It was okay-- good even. I can see that commercial stuff being usable-- and it is ultracheap.
- Q: ...or instead of just the floor, the whole dorm.1) Which floor/dorm is the best if you want to be able to get work done and sleep without trouble?2) Are any of these floors/dorms boring? Are the people on these floors better behaved than other floors?3) What are these floors/dorms like? Are honors dorms similar to any of these?4) Have you ever been in these dorms? Would you recommend it? I'm gonna be a junior in hs so i have time but i was just wondering. I'm not an outgoing, party-er. I want to have a life and make friends but I want to be on top of my studies and avoid trouble. You know, having the option of a good night sleep too. Would I not get a fun college experience in any of these floors/dorms? I still want to have crazy college stories to remember once I graduate!
- 1. Quiet floor. 2. They could be boring, it really depends on the RA and the students. I find that students on the quiet floor are more well behaved because they have to be so quiet all of the time. Throwing a party is pretty hard on the quiet floor. 3. The honors floor also tends to be well behaved, but isn't necessarily quiet. 4. I haven't, but my friend was the RA of the quiet floor. Quiet hours started at 5PM and she hated it (since she likes to play music and watch TV). Just because the floor you live on is quiet doesn't mean the floor above you will be. You still run the risk of not getting sleep on a quiet floor. The bottom line is that you can make friends in any dorm. It depends on you. If you're not outgoing, you might do better in a traditional dorm. I noticed that on quiet floors, students tend to keep to themselves compared to the traditional dorms where students socialized.
