Q: What is the moisture-proof mats for solid wood flooring?
Manufacturers equipped with moisture pad
Q: I mop with hot water and pine-sol mix in a bucket then i proceed to pour the mixture on the floor and mop it around but then when i let the sun dry it out it leaves my floor with these weird water stains on the floor. What is the proper way to mop a floor so i wont have to do it over and over?
Add a SMALL amount of cleaner to a full bucket of hot water. Dip the mop into the bucket to wet it, squeeze out excess water, then mop a section of floor. Rinse the mop in the hot water, squeeze out excess water and mop another section of floor. Once you're done, you rinse the mop and go over the whole floor again with fresh water.
Q: Live in a Condo, with someone under me, can i nail down the wood floor without damages tenant under me, the floor is squeaking real badly.
On a home show, I saw a squeaky floor fix. He screwed the plywood into studs in the floor. He was very careful selecting the screw size and to not hurt the carpet. He made sure he found the studs in the floor first. I think it was Bob Villa.
Q: Is it neccessary to prime the floor of an insulated garage before repainting?
That is a pretty tough one to be honest. I have done some work in this industry and every situation can be a little different depending upon the surface of the concrete you are working on. Smooth concrete with little or no aggregate is a little easier than a surface with clearly visible aggregate/rock. For stripping, start with a commercial grade grinder with a wire brush attached. Don't grind through the concrete but take the old paint off. Using a leaf blower blow all old paint, dust, debris, etc, off. Next, using old rags wipe the ENTIRE area that paint/sealant is to be applied with Xylene (an industrial strength solvent) that is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. Wear gloves as Xylene can be absorbed through the skin and is toxic/carcinogenic. Use the heavy disposable type nitrile gloves as regular latex will deteriorate very quickly from the Xylene. Be certain concrete surface is CLEAN AND DRY. Apply and cure appropriate sealant/paint. There are countless varieties out there depending upon the surface, intended use, chemical and environmental exposure, etc. A word of warning and disclosure, most of the work I did was under the supervision of a foreman and we were fixing botched DIY jobs where average folks tried to seal, paint or surface garages, patios and decks. Often times the highest expense to the customer was the labor cost involved in removing what they tried to apply themselves. I would recommend getting a quote from a licensed contractor who works in the sealants and coating industry first. Make an educated decision from the potential cost of doing it yourself or paying someone who will do and stand by their work....If the paint/surface/sealant fails it will be their dime, not yours. I would go this route myself before doing my own garage and I have done this work in the past. Hope this helps and good luck!
Q: is there any chemical/solution to remove acid stains from floors?please help me.
Flooring is one of the important aspect which add beauty to your home/building. Marble makes a luxurious material for floors, walls, countertops and mantels. This porous material tends to absorb stains from liquids and oils that have come in contact with it. Certain liquids, such as juice or wine, may contain certain acids that, once absorbed, leave an unsightly and harmful stain in the marble. Applying a poultice treatment will pull the stain back out of the pores of the marble and remove the stain. This low-maintenance treatment will restore your marble surface to its original shine. Good Luck...
Q: Lived for almost a year, with Bi Lizhufu trace of grams of the long-tan of the floor of the floor of the wax to fight their own, but after the floor appeared a block of the spot, which is the reason, how to solve it? The Thank you! More

Q: can you clean concrete basement floor with water and pine sol, with a mop ?Well i just bought a new house and i wanted to clean my basement floor with pin sol with a mop is that good for my basement floor or will it ruin it ?
Well, Pine Sol is more for wood floors.. The best stuff to use is Pledge (the one is the blue bottle that you squirt in areas, then run a wet mop over). It smells great and leaves all different surfaces clean. I also use Lysol floor cleaner with nemonia which is good for disinfecting that kind of surface. I would also vaccum it first because you might ruin the mop by running it over debri left behind - like pebbles and other big dirt particles. Happy cleaning!
Q: I recently just got put on a quiet floor (not at my request), and was wondering what the quiet floors at your school were like. For me, the quiet period begins at 7pm and ends at 10 am. What I'm hoping to happen is that the majority of the residents will decide that they don't want it to be a quiet floor. Some extra questions:Were the quiet floors enforced well?Did people on the quiet floor actually want quiet? Was it fun? (probably not)
My friend was the RA of the quiet floor last year. Trust me, she enforced quiet hours, even when her friends visited her. Her residents had fun though. They weren't drunk and partying at 3 in the morning on the floor. But they still hung out, played video games, talked, went out, etc. If you don't want to live on the quiet floor, see if you can switch to a different floor.
Q: My bathroom floor is currently covered with linoleum. I plan to strip the floor of this down to the sub-flooring (wood). What steps will I need to take to ceramic tile my bathroom floor? What things will I have to buy and in what order from start to finish to go from sub-floor to completed ceramic floor?Thanks!10 POINTS to the best answer!!!
Once the flooring is cleaned and ready to go. You ll need 1/2 cement board. My preference is Durock..Pre cut the Durock and lay into place. Cutting can be done with a hand cutter with a carbide tip or cut with a masonry saw blade (DUSTY!)..Dry fit the pcs, lift and sweep the area again. Spread a thin set with a 1/4 x 1/4 square notched trowel. Set board back into the thin set and walk on it all over. Nail down ( or screw) with 1 1/2 galvanized nails . Use nothing shorter.. 8 in the field and 3/4 along all the seams. Tape all joints with thin set and cement board tape ( this is different from dry wall tape.) Let floor dry 24 hrs.. You are ready to tile. Use the proper trowel for your tile. My recommendations are to use thin set and thin set only for tile setting. Starting from the middle, dry lay tiles out to the walls.. If you have a 1/2 tile or bigger , your good. If less than a 1/2 tile, readjust center of the tile to the center line, this will get you a better wall cut. Straight edges and tape measure to stay square is the best way to go. All this is in accordance with the Tile Council of America guide book, Along with the TCA guidelines.
