Q: Just a couple of the many tips that I have for vacuum cleaners. So, what's the clogger king?HAIRPINS, BOBIPINS! I service vacuum cleaners and the number one thing I find in the hoses of clogged vacuums are the hairpins that end up lodged sideways there because the spinning brushroller underneath the vacuum separates the pin and everything that follows must somehow travel around the pin. It's usually a small piece of cardboard, or a matchbook cover.REMEDY?Get yourself a magnet and skim the floor first. You can also get a magnetic strip that goes across the front of the vacuum online at any vacuum cleaner parts supplier. Now, for the filters.Hepa's CLOG! FAST! The vacuum cleaner manufactures know this and they screw you out of your money. PERIOD!Hoover uses ELECTROSTATIC MEDIA to make their filters. So you know what they do. 99.97%...SO DO THESE:A TEN PACK OF 4X 11ELECTROSTATIC REGISTER VENT FILTERS- cut-STACK-glueCOST?$2.79where? Lowe's in the furnace filter section.
Hey thanks for the tips, especially the filter info. Now, I have very long blonde hair that wraps around the beater bar burning up the rubber belt. How do I stop that?
Q: Do Roomba robot vacuum cleaners actually vacuum, or are they just sweepers?
It okorder /... We have one, and it is much more effective - particularly on carpet - than a sweeper. It has a bit of trouble moving around on deep, loose shag carpet, but it's great on hard floors, rugs and other carpet types. HBJ
Q: I thought Dyson had a patent on bagless vacuum cleaners but now everybody is copying him. Is it because the patent has now expired and so people can copy it? (as he once sued hoover for copying him but that was a long time ago, around 10 years ago)Thankyou for your help
Are you talking about a broom? I don't think those can be patented.
Q: I am looking for two vacuums... One so I can clean around the house, and a hand held with a hose for the stairs. I don't want to pay a fortune, and I would rather not pay over $50.00 for a handheld. I would like to stay in the range of $150.00 for the regular vac. Thanks.
I have a little hand held dirt devil dust buster. It is the greatest thing! There are no cords, so you can take it anywhere. It is so great for vacuuming the car!! As for one around the house, you are going to have to look for one based on your specific needs. There are ones for pet owners, deep steam cleaners, etc. And if you really don't want to do it yourself, there are the roomba's that do it all for you!!! Walmart has a ton of vacuums. I posted a link on here. You can also search by price.
Q: Why not Mops or Vacuum Cleaners? Where did the tradition come from?
Coz broomstickz are much cheaper plus more portable more over they weren't invented at that time lol.
Q: It sounds a bit odd but I'm dead serious. Whenever I look at my vacuum I have a bizarre urge to make love to it. But the other day when I tried it really hurt when it suctioned my dick so I kind of want to stop, but for some reason no matter what I do my vacuum won't look any less sexy. What should I do?
They say it beats as it sweeps as it cleans perhaps that is what turns you on
Q: Ever since the EU's ban against high power vacuum cleaners went into effect, global temperatures have maintained a steady plateau. Is there any causal relationship between the ban on vacuums and the global warming plateau?
Its a crazy ban The EU must love dirty houses
Q: The spots look like black ink spots. They seem to be powdery because now they are all over my carpet. Is there an effective way to clean my carpet? Can steam vacuums help? Will I have to call professional cleaners to clean them? Any kinda help is appreciated! Thanks
Sounds like the belt to your vacuum may be shot. Check that first. If it is powdery, just replace your belt, and re vacuum. If it is set in, you should call a professional in. You don't want to take a chance spreading the black throughout the carpet. Let the professionals be responsible.
Q: Because gladiators would want something that is versatile, more powerful, and easy to use. Attachments are more easy to change for when cleaning for furniture or stairs and switching from carpet to bare floor can be done at the handle by turning off the power nozzle, then switching to the bare floor tool. Easy bag and filter change.
Any clever gladiator Would choose a Bissell
Q: Can anyone/everyone help me in knowing what to buy as far as vacuum cleaners go?? I am in desperate need to replace the piece of crap that I currently have and are having a heck of a time doing it, for there are oh I don't know millions of them!!! I have a cat, 2 adults 3 kids so I definitely live in a High Traffic Household. Also I need one that comes with a hose (not just the floor sucking kind) and lots of attachments cause I like to go against the wall where the kids get dirt in the corners and the cat gets cat litter. I need as much feedback as I can get as to what I can buy. I would LOVE a Dyson, but I don't have a $1000.00 to spend and more like $200.00 (or less). PLEASE HELP!!!
I've had a kirby G4 (generation 4) and it's been great. The only downside is you can only buy the bags from a dealer (or rep like at a sewing center or repair shop) or online and they tend to be expensive. It comes with alot of attachments, but to use the hose requires getting down, removing the front metal part and attaching the hose. They usually come with a dvd (or you can probably watch it on their website) that goes over how to take that on and off, and do other things with it like using it for a blower (like to clean your deck of leaves), rug shampoer and upholstery cleaner, and how to remove the bag. They tend to be heavy but last forever. Any of the generation (G) models would probably be fine.
