- Q:I have a white carpet that has gotten dirty over the years. The color has just generally changed to a dirtier white. It's kinda dark and you can easily tell which parts of the carpet haven't gotten dirty over the years as they are perfectly white. I also have some stains. I tried bleaching some parts of the carpet which did actually work, but that left clean spots that look weird compared to how the rest of the carpet is. I would bleach the whole thing but it created such a strong smell last time that I couldn't sleep in my room. Is there a way to generally whiten the entire carpet with the supers strong smell of bleach. Preferably a way to do this with household items. Thank you.
- I agree entirely with Clayton. You want to hire a professional trained IICRC certified carpet cleaner. You have already caused some damage to the carpet by bleaching it. This may have caused damage to the carpet fiber as well to the appearance. Find someone who specializes in color repair service. They will hopefully be able to fix the damage you have caused and bring the carpet back to a clean and respectable appearance.

- I bought a saddle from a girl in the local Pony Club for $300. I have had it for three years and will probably have it for many more, it is in good condition. Buy a almost new used saddle and clean and condition it every so often. It will keep the leather soft and supple. And it will keep the saddle in better condition so it will last longer. For rugs, I would get a thick rug in the winter (well, actually, it depends how cold it gets there) and in the summer, you don't even need a rug. You could get a protective shett. It is like a rug that protects them from pests like flies and mosquitos. In the winter, I would just sponge it down and wait for him/her to cool down then put a cooler (a special blanket for a horse that has just worked hard). Later you can put a thicker blanket on, like when he is totally back to normal. In the summer I would do the same thing (put the cooler on) then put on the protective sheet or just nothing. My horse doesn't use a rug int the winter. I hope this helped you.

- For a rug this large, I suggest using either a foaming cleaner, like Woolite Spray Foam Carpet cleaner or a dry granule cleaner like Capture or Resolve. The both types of cleaners are a simple application. Just spray on the foam, agitate with a brush to work into the fibers, allow to dry and vacuum up. Dry granule, sprinkle on surface and work into the fiber with a brush and let dry, then vacuum. If you have spots or stains, just work either into it with a brush. I like the Woolite because it also contains a scotch guard that leaves a stain repellent and makes cleaning up spills easier without staining.

- Yes, it's common. The correct reason would be for inventory and stock purposes. Each one has to record a name so as not to conflict with another product.

Your carpet is something thats going to be there for some time, I like taking a bold stance by picking a vibrant color, but this is a color your going to have to live with for some time. I like red, red goes well with grey, black is nice too, dark but nice. I feel if you go grey your going to feel like your room is small, and boring. Beige is ok, but it has to be the right color of beige. What about hardwood flooring, they are universal, and the color goes with anything, if you don't have hardwood flooring under your carpet, what about stained concrete, I don't know what your working with, so I'm just throwing ideas out. So, how bold do you want to be? Hope this help.... P.S. if you do the hardwood or stained concrete, nice are rugs will help soften the room, and add that color sceme you desire!
