Bagless Vacuum Cleaners introduction

Bagless vacuum cleaner feature a removable dust storage container, which can be emptied into your refuse bin when full. This is a simple method of maintaining your vacuum cleaner and making sure it doesn't lose suction. The advantage of this bagless system over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it is more environmentally friendly, and avoids the need to purchase dust bags, thus saving you money.

FAQ

Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?

The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.

Which attachments should I look out for?

Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.

I have a large house? What should I look out for?

Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.

Q:I am trying to find an inexpensive vacuum for my apartment. One day I will buy a fancy expensive one but I need one now and that is not what I can afford. I have been looking at what vacuums people recommend and it sounds like the bagged vacuums work better. However, most of the ones in the stores are bagless so I had assumed that was better. Is that only true with high end machines? Or is everyone carrying bagless just because they look cooler on the shelves?

Q:Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
No they are not worth it. My wife bought one from a friend who became a saleswoman. It doesn't pick up dirt that well. It is a major nuisance to change over from vacuum to rug shampooer. It has a tendency to spill the cleaning liquid (dirty water that it sucked out of the carpet) so that most of the rug is OK but there are some really dirty parts where the liquid slopped out. If you switch from one mode to the other and don't get it together perfectly it will not turn on at all. My wife claims she doesn't know how to run anything that complicated. I stick to my ShopVac if I need to vacuum something. We have no dogs so hair removal is not an issue for us. Short answer is don't bother. Get a regular vacuum and rent a rug cleaner when you need one.
Q:which parts are metal and why are they used??and what metals are they made of?
The basic unit in vacuum cleaners is a motor with steel housing for safety, windings of copper, brushes of copper -impregnated carbon. The rest of the cleaner can be made of almost anything. Copper for the windings for conductivity, steel housing in case the 3000 rpm parts break apart.
Q:It sounds a bit odd but I'm dead serious. Whenever I look at my vacuum I have a bizarre urge to make love to it. But the other day when I tried it really hurt when it suctioned my dick so I kind of want to stop, but for some reason no matter what I do my vacuum won't look any less sexy. What should I do?
its like a milking machine except its your penis not the teet of a cow and it will hurt a bit more
Q:guys, i lost the fuse of ma vacuum cleaner,so 2 replace a new one, i need to know the fuse rating...so please tell me how much amperes is the fuse of hitachi CV-2900

Q:They back up a truck remove every thing out not nailed down then get a lawyer the man ends up paying for to act like a piranha to finish the job on the man and his income.
what is yours is ours, and what is ours is ours!!, personally i would only take what i needed it makes for a faster escape. maybe we think without your nice stuff you wil be miserable an that gives us joy..just a thought
Q:I understand that all Dyson vacuums go on sale everywhere that sells them at the same time. Thanks in advance.
MMMM.... I've never heard of the Dyson Theory! However, fret not... I work at Kohls dept. store and people that have a Kohls account at certain times of the year can take advantage of our 30%,20% or 15% discount.. It's generally in the form of a scratch-off OR catalouge coupon... It's good on ALL the merch. in the store.. So, right off the bat you would SAVE and we also match price SEARS, BEST BUY etc.. not online... So, if you did your homework and brought in the sales ad etc...You could do pretty well.... ***The last customer that I sold one I gave him 30% and matched price so he saved about $160.... ***You don't have to have the coupon.. Just during the sale event tell them you left it at home or borrow one from another customer... ****Check your local vacuum repair shop and see if they have a refurbished model.. Good luck...
Q:Why do dogs get so freaked out by vacuum cleaners?
Maybe he sees the vacuum cleaner suck up things and is scared. It might not necessarily be the sound.
Q:The one that starts out with vacuum cleaners making a squeaking noise? Damn i hate that commercial.
LOL LOL lucky lucky me I havent had the extreme displeasure of seeing that one!
Q:Iam supposed to do costing for a modification that we are doing for a hand held vacuum cleaner, the modification is an retractable arm.I want to know how are hand held vacuum cleaners manufactured, (forging, extrusion, injection molding??) What would be the cost??Any help thanks
Look at the hand held vacuums they have in the store. If the housing is plastic, it is a 99.99% chance it is injection molded. If it is made of metal it could be extruded if it has a constant cross section along its length. Aluminum is a very common extrusion metal. I would doubt any high volume hand vac would have a forged housing, but I don't get out that much. Casting and machining is a possibility. As far as costs, it all depends on the life of the tool, and the number of cavities for a mold or a casting. If you mold/cast one part at a time it is much more expensive than two or four or eight. The more you mold at once, the bigger the molding/casting machine and the more expensive the mold/casting. So it depends on how many you want to make in a given amount of time, and how many through the life of the product. Finally, for your modification, do you have a design with drawings and a volume target? That is the first step to figuring out costs.
