Q:Calculation method of wire and cable outer diameter
You are talking about the calculation of the diameter of the calculation method please refer to GB / T marine cables please refer to IEC-350 and 353
Q:Hi,I bought a new 500GB HDD today, with a SATA cable (data) but I don't know what kind of power cable I need?I looked around and saw Sata to Molex and all kinds of things, I've never had to hook up a second hard drive before and the terms are confusing me. Could anyone tell me what kind of cable I'll need and where I'm supposed to hook them up to?Thanks!
Yes you're on the right track. There's a couple of things that need to be added to your description of the problem: Does the motherboard have connectors for SATA (the small black connector, not the old white/tan kind)? If so, all you need is a regular, everyday SATA cable to hook from the motherboard to the drive. It looks like this red cable: And the Molex (4-pin, white connector) to SATA power (small, flat, black connector) looks like this:
Q:Recently moved from the UK, so I need power cables for the following:- External Hard Drive- Skype Phone Base Station- etcThese appliances come with a power cord from the socket to a small circular head that plugs into the said appliance.I've looked in Walmart, and all they have is a mutihead adaptor for 18 bucks, when I really need just a power cord with the wall socket and the right size circular head.Any advice is appreciated!
Go to stores like Best Buy, Radio Shack, or Fry's. Those devices use power supplies, not just cords. If it used just a cord, it would likely have an IEC two or 3 pin inlet, where you likely can easily get a replacement standard US plug cord. The small circular plug is coaxial, and exclusively used for low voltage (below 50 volts). The HDD at least may use a universal supply (all mine do), in which case a plug adapter will work. Check the Skype power supply, it might be similar.
Q:I was wondering if it is possible to have flat power cables as i want to place my hdtv on the wall but don't want the power cable trailing down so that it looks like its levitating (i suppose anyway). I also want to do this for my mini hi-fi, as that is on a supporting wall and feeding wires through that is either not viable and/or out of my electrical range. I live in the UK, so would prefer a national company as opposed to foreign.
Hi Allotted, The best thing to do is cut into the wall and run the cables down the inside. By the time you have power, DVD/VCR, cable connection and a dozen other things you have a huge bundle of cables. Cut a opening behind the TV and run the wires down the inside to the floor. Make an opening to bring them out there. I did mine like that and while it took some effort the results were a great looking installation. Norm
Q:I don't want to run it under the car, but I can't find a place to run it through the firewall... Do I need to drill a hole?
Look under the storage compartment on the passengers side. look under the dashboard on the drivers side, locate holes then look on the inside of the cars side skirts you should be able to remove the skirting and lay cable under there.
Q:I looked on 3 of my friends plus mine and looked at the cord that comes from the big block power supply thing for the xbox 360 and every one of them looked differant. Why is that?
one of them are for a regular tv and the other is for hd. if you look at the top of the cord( where it gets pulged into the xbox) there is a switch that says tv and hd. if you pulg in tv and switch the switch to hd you will notice you can't see anything
Q:the power cable is in 2 parts, one from the xbox to a box, from the box to the wallthat box has an led light. when the xbox is on, it should turn green, when the xbox is off it should turn orange. my led light is turning red instead of orange and green.its not red ring of death, or 4 red rings, i know this because my xbox wont even power up because the box in the power cable will not send power to my xbox. im so confused...plz help
I can't answer your question coz I've got the same problem too! can somebody please answer his question?
Q:power cables of 630 mm buried (cable trench) what could be the reason for fire?
A very high power surgeon could cause it. Very high current transfer of a short circuit could cause burning of the cable. Power cables have materials which have very high resistance (rubber materials mostly) but could burn in a not very high temperature.
Q:I want to turn on my PC but my power cable was missing so i got a new one. A small sheet on the PC's power cable input hole says quot;230 V Rated voltagebut the new power cable fork has some characteristics written on it like EL - 202 / 10-16 / 250 quot;. So I'm afraid that 250 stands for Voltage so the power cable voltage is different from pc's rated voltage. I live in europe and we have 220V here from the power supply. Can I use this power cable or will it mess up my pc ? It's quite a quick issue that I need help with. Many thanks to everyone who can reply quickly. Cheers ;)
The cable seems to be rated higher than your input voltage so you should be okay.
Q:I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.
You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.
