Q: I see this in a lot of translated quotes, but i don't understand why. the quote in it's original language wouldn't have implied accept but only put [ac]cept and the translator wouldn't be so poor a speller to have forgotten the h in t[h]is.i get the point of the bracket insert when it needs to say something like [consequentlly] .
In general, the square brackets indicate the the person who is citing has changed the original quote. One is only supposed to do this if it improves the flow of your writing, so long as it doesn't change the meaning of the original quote. You can change the tense of words, or add words if the part you are quoting is missing an important detail for the reader's understanding, like a name. For example, say my original quote is this, Timmy liked to play baseball. You might be writing a literay essay, which should always be in the present tense. So you might say Timmy is an athletic child, who like[s] to play baseball. You can manipulate the quote to make the tense work with the rest of your sentence, so long as the information is the same. You may also want a quote from a source that names someone, but uses a pronoun in the particular part you want to quote. To make it easy for your reader to know who you are talking about, you can add a clarifying word or name.
Q: I broke my bracket on my left top molar, the very last molar. My braces might be coming off in January but this is the 5th bracket I've broke the last one was from July. I'm 16, amp; I was bored. amp; I was talking on the phone amp; I was chewing on a bottle just as habbit - chewing.so then I felt it break.so 1) I wear rubber bands on triangles on both sides, do I still wear them with broken bracket??2) Can I wait until my adjustment on Wednesday to get the bracket fixed? 3) What can happen between now amp; Wednesday besides movement, will it be a lot of movement , please explain thanks!
Tell whoever takes you there that you broke it again. You can still wear the bands if it's not on that bracket. If your going there on Wednesday you shouldn't have to go any earlier. It won't really move. Btw You worrying way to much if you've already had them for that long and it's surprising that you don't know. And you should be smart enough not to break it again especially if your chewing on something like that. Be careful until January or February coz you've broken them a bit to much.
Q: I need help with multiplying out two brackets. I also need help with multiplying out two brackets with a number in front of them.
If you have two brackets multiplied together, multiply each term in the first bracket by each term in the second bracket: (a + b)(c + d) a(c + d) + b(c + d) ac + ad + bc + bd If you have two brackets multipled together and by a term, multiply each term in the first bracket by each term in the second bracket, then multiply each term in the bracket by the outside term: a(b + c)(d + e) a[b(d + e) + c(d + e)] a(bd + be + cd + ce) abd + abe + acd + ace
Q: I am creating this awesome cat climbing tree. I know everything I'm doingjust curious for structural soundness how many L brackets should I use? Should I put the brackets on all 4 sides of my posts? Or just two? Keep in mind this tree is being created for a very big cat. He is 22 pounds and is probably taller and longer than most dogs at this point. Plus his sister.
That depends on what material you're using for your cat tower and which type of L-brackets you purchased (some come with a single set of screw holes, others with two or three sets). If you're using solid plywood or hardwood, it would be best to have around 5 pairs of holes (three double brackets or 4-5 singles). Be sure to spread the brackets evenly-- weight distribution is the goal here. Hope this helps!
Q: Hey i have to expand some brackets. i forgot how to do it and i need to know. so could you talk me through this first one then i can do the rest?(x+6)(x-8)Thanks
Expanding brackets in math is simply multiplying all expressions inside the bracket with the variable or coefficient outside. For example: 3x(5 + 3y) 2 To expand the brackets, simply multiply 3x with each of the expressions inside, always keeping in mind the sign of the answer (negative/positive) Step 1: (3x * 5) + (3x * 3y) 2 Step 2: 15x + 9xy 2
Q: I was just eating one of those small coloured chocolate eggs and I felt something hardI took it out and it was bracket from my braceIt was one on the back molar which didn't have a wire on yet so it doesn't affect the movement I'm going to the orthodontist as soon as possible which is Tuesday but it feel really rough where the bracket wasIs this the glue or some of my tooth chipped?
I have had this happen to me many times when i had braces (I had the tendency to chew ice :l). If there isn't a tooth chunk on your bracket that fell off, then it is most likely just the glue. The bracket tends to make the glue harden in weird sharp points and bumps. When braces are taken off the hard glue on the teeth remain, so they have to scrape it off. I would not worry about it. It happens all the time. If you wanted, you could shine small flashlight in your mouth to get a better look at your tooth if you are really worried.
Q: I read that Bracketing would be best to use because it gives you 4 (in my camera) exposures and you can choose the one that you like the bestTRUE??? Or, should I only use it in certain circumstances and the other settings in different circumstances? If so, please explain
bracketing is a good habit to get into. any given exposure may not come out even though your light meter says everything is correct. one thing you should keep in mind is that all light meters are dumb. and they only measure a very small portion of a scene, then average out everything else based on that reading. bracketing helps compensate for lighting anomalies by over and under exposing a picture. the great thing about this is that you may like the over or under better than the regular exposure. it gives you more to choose from and helps prevent losing images that you only shot once and for whatever reason didn't come out.
Q: Another bracket question. A quote I'm using for an essay says, Nothing happened except the granules immediately dissolvedWould this be correct: Nothing happened except the [sugar] immediately dissolvedor Nothing happened except [the sugar] immediately dissolved Basically I'm just asking whether the the goes inside the brackets or not.Or are neither of those correct?
the one [the sugar] is correct (:
Q: I have a loose bracket, and had only have had my braces on for about a week. It s the first bracket from the back of my mouth on the left side, and I noticed it was loose when I was just eating some Ice Cream, and I don t understand how it is loose because I haven t eaten anything that would make it loose. I m basically just scared it ll fall out and I ll choke to death, what can I do before I make an appointment?
If the bracket is still attached to the wire, you should not worry about choking. Even if it came off completely, you would feel it before choking. And if the worst happened and you swallowed it, it would simple pass through your body. Make an appointment as soon as you can to have it repaired.
Q: Haii(: I have a homework question that had to do with Order Of Operation. Here it is9+[4-(10-9)*exponet*2]*exponet*3after I subtracted 10-9 and got 1 should I do 1 to the 2nd power or 4-1? Thanks a bunch(:
BEDMAS B-Brackets E-exponits D-divide M-muitiply A- add and S- subtract. Always do brackets first.
