Q:How do cranes get put together?
They're just born that way! lol, just kidding!
Q:Where are gears used on a crane?
Don't okorder
Q:What association does Wing Chun have with Fujian White Crane (Tiger-crane) kung fu?
Fujian White Crane is not Hung Gar or Tiger Crane. Southern White Crane, or Gu Lou Kuen (Ancestor Fist) is the predecessor to Goju-ryu karate. Goju and GLK emphasize the sam jian ma, sanchin dachi, or three battles stance, and rootedness, body conditioning, and strong shoulders and arms. The power comes from the rooted base and strong arms. There are rumors that Wing Chun is derived from Ancestor Fist, but philosophically, technically, tactically, and strategically, the styles are extremely dissimilar except for the short range fighting. Wing Chun is also rumored to be created by Ng Mui or Wu Mei, the Buddhist Nun. But the resemblances between modern Wing Chun and styles named after the nun are few and superficial. Wu Mei emphasizes power generation in numerous ways and continuous attacks. Wing Chun emphasizes deflection and power generation by shifting the feet, and simultaneous attack and defense. Wu Mei also has a full suite of weapons, and Wing Chun only the pike and butterfly sabers. Wing Chun is a style created in the Shaolin Temple, but it is probably closest to Hsing-I Kuen or Hsing Yi Quan in training with their chi sao or sticky hands practice.
Q:I'm trying to workout the best height of a truss for a ship-to-shore container crane project. The crane will have a 65m outreach, 18m center section and 15m backreach. I was thinking in the region of 2m-3m truss height.Any input would be great. Thanks
Jimmy: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) produces design standards for many types of cranes: see the link below. Many crane owners, licensing and governmental authorities having jurisdiction over cranes require design, fabrication and testing to ASME standards.
Q:I would like to get some advice from Martial artists of the training that Crane style Kung Fu go trough especially the balance. I would like to learn how they learn to balance without difficulty and the training they go trough.
Balance is balance - there's no specific training but good balance will help you with all aspects of your training. A few things that helped me - tying shoelaces by getting into a crane posture rather than kneeling to the laces. The concentration on the shoe helps to balance you. Practice Crane Stance and try to keep a clear mind while in the stance - if you start worrying then you'll fall. Remember to keep the knee high and the foot pointed.
Q:I caught this crane fly in my garage but is almost the size of a dragonfly. It has a 3 inch wingspan. I saved it in a jar because I though no one would believe me. so do they really get this big or is this thing a freak?
the answer is yes.
Q:Can anyone tell me the location of the barn in the water color Waiting Refuge by Jon Crane or how to find it
Well, to help you it would be necessary to look at the picture, I suppose, and none of the internet search results are still valid.
Q:What is the insulation resistance of tower crane?
Two. Safety regulations for tower cranes GB 5144 - 20068.1.3 tower crane metal structure, track, all electrical equipment metal shell, metal line pipe, safety lighting transformer, low voltage side should be reliable grounding, grounding resistance is not more than 4 ohms. Repeated earthing resistance is not greater than l0. The selection and installation of the earthing device shall comply with the relevant requirements of the electrical safety. The insulation resistance of the 8.1.7 main circuit and control circuit shall not be less than 0.5M ohm.
Q:If there are cranes by a small pond should there be fish?
Cranes don't typically eat fish. They mostly eat insects, maybe an unlucky frog. If you're seeing herons or cormorants at this pond regularly, then that's your sign there's fish present. It doesn't take those birds too long to scope out an area for fish, and if there are not any there, the birds will move on. If they are there every day, grab your rod and reel and check it out.
Q:In the Bride comes to Yellow Sky, Stephen Crane uses symbolism to evoke in readers a sense of the “old west”. However, the knowledge of the “old west” that the average person holds in his or her mind is false and nothing more than a Hollywood created myth. By using the symbols inherent in Hollywood’s old western myth Crane manipulates the reader’s misconceptions only to leave them feeling stupid when he reveals a hole in that way of thinking with the irrational ending. This is actually a thesis i'm working on for an analytical essay on the piece.I need to know if anyone has ever read the story and gotten the same feeling Crane was having fun at the reader's expense or perhaps poking fun at the old western I have very good points from the text to support my thesis but i cannot find anything online that touches on the possability of this being a parody. Anyone else think Crane's having fun or is a bit condescending in this piece?
I have to say no. Your question erred in a significant way. Hollywood didn't create this false image of the West. The false image was created a long time before by people living in the age of the incidents. It didn't take publishers long to notice that people living back East enjoyed these gritty depictions of the West. Dime novels were a big seller in the 18th and 19th centuries. Look at Stephen Crane. He died in 1900. Hollywood was non-existent as the facet of American life that it holds now. Crane would have been writing this story with the idea that he was depicting a real slice of the wild West that was becoming more civilized.
