- Sure you can. The problem with floor tile is they don't make bull-nose pieces, etc., but you have already taken that into consideration. Get a wet saw. Floor tiles are harder to cut with a score and snap cutter. I'm sure you know glazed ceramic tile does not need sealing, I'm not sure what the other guy is thinking.

- tear the linolium up you should have plywood under there if its plywood you can a couple things. a you could pour a selfleveling compound on, its comes in a bag like concrete and you mix it with water pour it up to an inch thick and tile right over that. b you can lay osb or cement board on top of the plywood which come in 3x5 sheets for about 10 bucks and tile over that. the levelor would run you about $40 for a small bath maybe 75 ft2. the cement board is $10/15ft2 plus mortar $10 and screws $5. if its concrete you can tile over that just make sure its level and a clean smooth surface.
- Q: I am laying ceramic tile over subflooring using 1/4 inch wonderboard. I am trying to not to have to move or modify existing floorboard trim. If I have 1/4 inch thick tile, 1/4 inch thick wonderboard how much thickness should I assume for adhesive? I have an existing 11/16 gap between subfloor and bottom of floorboard trim. Will I be able to use adhesive to close the gap to make fill the gap or are there other options?
- Not a good idea to try and use the adhesive in that manner to close up that gap.. The adhesive will be approximately an 1/8 th inch.. You ll find no floor is perfectly flat and no base board it truly straight. You asked for other options and the 2 best are to either use a shoe or trim molding after the tile is installed or to take off the base and re use it after the tile is on.. - Q: Im trying to figure out how to apply (vct) Vinyl tile squares? Whats the best way to start a project? What adhesive do you use if any? Is it like ceramic with some form of grout? etc!
- On VCT, Vinyl Composite Tile, you need adhesive to put it down and it goes together directly next to each other, you do not grout VCT. You also need a heat gun and a VCT cutter when installing. The manufacturer of the VCT also makes the adhesive that is needed for installation. After it is installed it needs have a weight roller rolled over the tile to ensure it sticking to the floor. VCT should also be sealed and waxed after completion to ensure it won't be scratched and that no moisture gets underneath the surface. You can lay out the tiles before the adhesive is applied to see what it looks like and where the cuts will be, you don't need to lay out the whole floor just a little bit. You can chalk line the floor with a straight edge to ensure the VCT is being laid in a straight line. You may be able to get on the Armstrong, Congoleum, or Mannington website for more info.
