1.    Structure introduction :

The boiler is a double-drum longitudinal natural circulation assembled water-tube boiler. The combustion equipment adopts light chain grate and equipped with stepless speed transmission device. The front, rear and two sides of the water-cooled wall are arranged in the furnace, and the water-cooled wall on both sides adopts the membrane wall structure. The front and rear water-cooled wall hanging special-shaped refractory bricks form a high and short front arch and a low and long rear arch above the grate, covering about 75 % of the length of the grate. The convection tube bundle is composed of boiler steel tubes, and the flue gas is folded into three return strokes with a partition wall. A cast iron economizer and a horizontal steel tube air preheater are arranged at the tail.

The blower blows cold air into the air preheater from the left side of the boiler, and enters the hot air ducts on both sides of the boiler after heat exchange. It rises to the furnace through nine independent grate air chambers. Each air inlet pipe is provided with an adjustment door, which makes the air distribution adjustment on the grate simple. The coal hopper is arranged in front of the combustion equipment, and the coal gate adopts a water-cooled cast steel serrated shape, which effectively increases the surface area of the coal seam and is conducive to the full combustion of coal.

The fuel enters the furnace through the coal hopper device and burns. The high-temperature flue gas absorbed by the water-cooled wall of the furnace enters the cooling chamber and convection tube bundle. After heat exchange, the furnace body is discharged into the cast iron economizer and tubular air preheater, and then through the dust collector. Finally, the induced draft fan is drawn from the chimney to the atmosphere.

2.Product features :

The membrane water-cooled wall boiler is one of the characteristic products of our factory. Because this type of boiler adopts a variety of new technologies and new structures, it has the characteristics that other boiler manufacturers do not have :

a.The burner, upper & lower drums and convective tube banks are assembled in workshop to reduce to workload at site, shorten the assembly period,ensure the assembly quality and cut the investment for client.

b.The boiler has double drums, total water tube and natural circulation, with large water capacit, large radiation heating surface,,large output capacity and safe & reliable operation.

c.Our boiler is featured in the left & right sides of furnace, where are all membrane walls. This feature helps enlarge the radiation heating surface effectively and enable the boiler with excellent workload capacity. Detailed explanation is follwed:

Ⅰ、Membrane walls have great rigidity and are well sealed, so there will be no transformation of two sides during operation and no need of refractory material, which can be replaced with light insulation material. The light of boiler brickwork and workload & cost of brickwork is less than others.                                                                                                                                                                          

Ⅱ、Due to the well sealed membrane wall, less heat loss and flue gas loss, and higher boiler efficiency.

Ⅲ、The boiler temperature can rise up and cool down more quickly, shortening the start up and shut up time.

d.For ash cleaning of convective tube bank, we provide bypass ash dropped unit and internal ash dropped unit for your choice. Both of them can help keep the cleanness of tube bank and maintain the effective heat exchange between water in the tube and gas.                                                     e.The front and rear membrane wall can extend to the end of fore -and-aft arches, helping them attached to the membrane walls and not breaking downing during cooling.

f.The left & right membrane walls extend until the side sealing, to reduce the coking on the furnace, which affects the burning.

g.The rear membrane wall is sparse with two rows with fire wall in middle. The fire wall can protect the walls and form a reburning chamber. The carbon in the fly ash can be burned totally in the chamber so that the boiler efficiency is higher and the exhausted gas is cleaner.

h. In the aspect of combustion equipment, the enhanced active grate is adopted to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the grate.. To reduce the coal leak, we apply big grate for passive ones, and seven independent wind chambers under grate, which provide uniformly and adjusted wind from two sides. We can control the wind to meet different working condition's need.

i.The coal gate is water-cooled sawtooth type, which can loosen the coal to improve the burning surface. After years' practice, it's proven that this type coal gate can help the coal burned totally and there will be less coal in slag, and less incomplete combustion loss.

j.Finned tube of economizer can reduce the ash deposition in economizer. There is manhole for check and maintain above economizer.

Q:I'm having trouble with physics revision and heat transfer. There's a question in the book about whether a boiler should be dark and matt or light and shiny, and I just don't understnad! Can someone explain it to me?
Is the boiler in your book at the focus of a solar collector? If so then dark and matt is good otherwise it really doesn't matter. If it's a wood, straw,dung or fossile fuel boiler then it is effectively surrounded by (or surrounds) a firebox ( if the outside of the firebox is light and shiny then that's great but it has nothing to do with the boiler) the one exception I can see is where you have a fan driven gas boiler where the main heat exchnger is actually inside the boiler and the outer surface of the boiler should be light and shiny to cut down on waste heat radiated from it. So if radiative transfer of heat out of your boiler is a problem then it should be light and shiny but if the boiler works by absorbing the maximum amount of heat by radiation from a source which is much hotter than the boiler surface then black and matt.

Q:I have a gas boiler and water baseboard heater ,The boiler would turn on for about 5min then turn off even though it has not reach the tempature on the thermostat I notice that the overflow valve leaks , my psi is at about 15 ,temperature on the boiler is about 80-85.I also can hear a small humming noise coming from the return pipe .what can this be...
If your system has and expansion tank it may have become water logged and hydrostaticly full. When the burner trys to heat the water in the boiler, the water has no place to expand, and.the pressure builds up and the pressure switch on the boiler turns off the boiler prematurely as if it was up to heat. Your relief valve is probably set for 30 lbs but has been building and relieving at each try for heat due to the hydrostatic pressure in your system, If your Expansion tank has a bladder, charge the bladder with a bit of air. If it is a tank only then Isolate the tank from the system with a hand valve, drain the tank to empty while opening a vent on it to let air into the tank.. Close of the drain and the vent and re-open the hand valve to the system. The system will flood water back into the tank but the air cushion will be captured in the top of the tank. Now when firing it will have a space of air to expand to. Hope this helps.
Q:Have oil heat with tank-less hot water. Heat not being utilized now b/c it is spring but furnace turns on to heat water. After boiler turns off there is gurgling in the boiler and pipes and then some loud banging, particularly late at night when there is no water use, that I cannot isolate. Water is not being turned off or on during banging. Thanks for any help.
u have water hammer find out were the pipes r banging and clip them down u also mite have air lock go round every radiator and bleed them(release air from the nipple it the top left/right
Q:How are scales formed in boilers?
The limescale that forms in boilers (and electric kettles) is formed by the thermal decomposition of the calcium (and magnesium) hydrogencarbonates present in temporarily hard water. e.g. Ca(HCO3)2(aq) --- CaCO(s) + H2O(l) + CO2(g) The solid calcium (or magnesium) carbonate (the limescale) builds up on the hot surfaces.
Q:valint boiler
It seems like your boiler is losing pressure through the pressure valve. and the water is going out through the overflow pipe. These valves cannot be repaired, they have to be replaced. The presure valve is like a one way valve and when you charge thr boiler it holds the water pressure in the boiler, but over a time they wear and begin to let water escape and so that is how you loose pressure.
Q:my boiler will only provide hot water when the central heatin is on wtf?
If you've got a 'combi' boiler it usually means the diverter switch has packed up and you'll need to call someone out. If you've got a conventional system ie. a hot cylinder to store hot water there's a good chance the motorised valve has stuck in the mid position. you will usually find the motor valve in the airing cupboard it is a brass 'T' shaped valve with either plastic or silver metal box on top and you should be able to manually over-ride it by moving the slider on the side to select hot Water only. A three element boiler drum level control senses three variables (elements) which are used to control the water level in a boiler drum. These variables are A.) Level in the drum B.) Feed Flow rate into the drum C.) Steam Flow rate from the boiler. The combination of these three variables helps the automation determine how to best control the feed valve under all load conditions. For propulsion boilers which can rapidly change load the three element regulator is best (compared to a single or dual element) for the compensation of shrink and swell effects on drum level under rapid load changes.

Most larger boilers today consist of a furnace that is made of steel tubes surrounding an empty space. The space is where the fire burns, from coal oil, natural gas, etc., heating water inside the tubes to the operating temperature and pressure of the boiler. Many boilers have a drum where the mixture of steam and boiler separate, and then the water is returned to the furnace zone to be be heated again. Beyond that, boilers auxiliary have vastly different equipment depending on the type size and fuel that is being used. Pumps to circulate water and fans to move air and flue gas are the major types. As far as safety is concerned, they all will have safety valves, they are required by a code in most places to keep the pressure from building up too much and exploding the boiler, potentially harming people working around them.
