1. Structure introduction :
The boiler is a double-drum longitudinal natural circulation assembled water-tube boiler. The combustion equipment adopts light chain grate and equipped with stepless speed transmission device. The front, rear and two sides of the water-cooled wall are arranged in the furnace, and the water-cooled wall on both sides adopts the membrane wall structure. The front and rear water-cooled wall hanging special-shaped refractory bricks form a high and short front arch and a low and long rear arch above the grate, covering about 75 % of the length of the grate. The convection tube bundle is composed of boiler steel tubes, and the flue gas is folded into three return strokes with a partition wall. A cast iron economizer and a horizontal steel tube air preheater are arranged at the tail.
The blower blows cold air into the air preheater from the left side of the boiler, and enters the hot air ducts on both sides of the boiler after heat exchange. It rises to the furnace through nine independent grate air chambers. Each air inlet pipe is provided with an adjustment door, which makes the air distribution adjustment on the grate simple. The coal hopper is arranged in front of the combustion equipment, and the coal gate adopts a water-cooled cast steel serrated shape, which effectively increases the surface area of the coal seam and is conducive to the full combustion of coal.
The fuel enters the furnace through the coal hopper device and burns. The high-temperature flue gas absorbed by the water-cooled wall of the furnace enters the cooling chamber and convection tube bundle. After heat exchange, the furnace body is discharged into the cast iron economizer and tubular air preheater, and then through the dust collector. Finally, the induced draft fan is drawn from the chimney to the atmosphere.
2.Product features :
The membrane water-cooled wall boiler is one of the characteristic products of our factory. Because this type of boiler adopts a variety of new technologies and new structures, it has the characteristics that other boiler manufacturers do not have :
a.The burner, upper & lower drums and convective tube banks are assembled in workshop to reduce to workload at site, shorten the assembly period,ensure the assembly quality and cut the investment for client.
b.The boiler has double drums, total water tube and natural circulation, with large water capacit, large radiation heating surface,,large output capacity and safe & reliable operation.
c.Our boiler is featured in the left & right sides of furnace, where are all membrane walls. This feature helps enlarge the radiation heating surface effectively and enable the boiler with excellent workload capacity. Detailed explanation is follwed:
Ⅰ、Membrane walls have great rigidity and are well sealed, so there will be no transformation of two sides during operation and no need of refractory material, which can be replaced with light insulation material. The light of boiler brickwork and workload & cost of brickwork is less than others.
Ⅱ、Due to the well sealed membrane wall, less heat loss and flue gas loss, and higher boiler efficiency.
Ⅲ、The boiler temperature can rise up and cool down more quickly, shortening the start up and shut up time.
d.For ash cleaning of convective tube bank, we provide bypass ash dropped unit and internal ash dropped unit for your choice. Both of them can help keep the cleanness of tube bank and maintain the effective heat exchange between water in the tube and gas. e.The front and rear membrane wall can extend to the end of fore -and-aft arches, helping them attached to the membrane walls and not breaking downing during cooling.
f.The left & right membrane walls extend until the side sealing, to reduce the coking on the furnace, which affects the burning.。
g.The rear membrane wall is sparse with two rows with fire wall in middle. The fire wall can protect the walls and form a reburning chamber. The carbon in the fly ash can be burned totally in the chamber so that the boiler efficiency is higher and the exhausted gas is cleaner.
h. In the aspect of combustion equipment, the enhanced active grate is adopted to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the grate.. To reduce the coal leak, we apply big grate for passive ones, and seven independent wind chambers under grate, which provide uniformly and adjusted wind from two sides. We can control the wind to meet different working condition's need.
i.The coal gate is water-cooled sawtooth type, which can loosen the coal to improve the burning surface. After years' practice, it's proven that this type coal gate can help the coal burned totally and there will be less coal in slag, and less incomplete combustion loss.
j.Finned tube of economizer can reduce the ash deposition in economizer. There is manhole for check and maintain above economizer.

- Q: How to changeover boiler to another boiler during emergency?
- Do you have two boilers connected to one load? There should be written directions for this procedure as if it is done incorrectly, the result could create another emergence/disaster. Get in a HVAC technician who is licensed for the size of boilers you have installed.

- Q: The water content in the boiler is 180 kg. The connected electric heater is 20 kW. Temperature of the water in starting is 27 Deg C. The final steam pressure required is 85 PSI.
- First you have to heat the water and the boiler. Since you say nothing about the boiler you have to neglect the boiler part. You need to look up in a steam table the enthalpy of saturated liquid and vapor at 85 psi (99.7 psia, probably 100 psia is close enough) and figure out how much it changed. The part I don't know is how you know how much liquid you have and how much vapor you have without knowing the volume of the boiler. The two most plausible assumptions you can make here is that the boiler volume will only be large enough to hold the saturated liquid or that it will be so large as to require all the water to be vapor to be able to get to 85 psi. I would guess that you need to convert it all to steam so use that. So you compute the change in enthalpy from water to steam for the whole 180 kg and divide by the power input to get time to get there. Make sure to keep track of the unit conversions between metric and English units.
- Q: I have a Vokera combi boiler (excell SP 80) which is probably around 12 years old. Lately is has switched off for no apparent reason. Even though I have managed to switch it back on, what would you recommend to do : have it repaired or changed?Other question, when I asked for quotes to have it changed, the plumber told me that the gas pipe is too narrow and the gas pipes leading to the boiler need to be changed. This would entail major work, so my question is : shy should I have wider gas pipes fitted?Thanks in advance for all your answers
- Vokera is a very unpopular make amongst those who's job it is to repair boilers, because they tend to be unreliable, difficult to work on needlessly complicated. If it were a more reliable make, I'd have no hesitation in advising you to have it fixed, however I'd be leaning towards replacing a 12 year old Vokera, because the older it gets, the more unreliable it will be. Modern combi boilers are more powerful, giving you a good powerful hot water delivery, but tend to require a 22mm gas supply pipe because of the additional power. There are some modern boilers however that are capable of running off a 15mm supply, but please don't get another Vokera!
- Q: The total heating BTU of my radiators totals to 62,000 BTU'S.Can i get away with installing a 60,000 BTU boiler as it is also going to run the hot water.. or should i go for the next size up?? (preferably vaillant boilers)Thanks
- as a vaillant boiler engineer this is the minimum i can recomend 80000 btu's is approximate to 24 kw if you add water to your heat requirement you will need around this. vaillant appliance suitable to you are - ecotec pus 624 (sealed system) i.e no heaer tank in loft but radiators and water cylinder ecotec plus 424 (open vented) as above with header tank in loft and pump outside boiler ecoted pro 24 (combi boiler) ecotec plus 824 (combi with flap) these are minimum requirements an all these modes have higher powered machines

- Its an expansion tank for the boiler system. It is a necessary component to your system. When the boiler water gets hot it expands. It goes into the expansion tank. If there was no expansion tank the boiler pressure would rise and exceed the set pressure of the pressure relief valve.
- Q: If a bath is filling upstairs, taps down stairs cannot be used at the same time?
- Yes you are right. A combi is a one tap boiler, but you can put as many taps as you like on the circuit, but you will only get a full flow from one at a time. If somebody runs the bath, you have to wait before you fill the sink. But they are only suitable for small places and this is not really a problem, you just have to learn to live with it. The only real problem with them is if you are running a shower and somebody else turns a tap on downstairs, the shower stops running just as you are going to wash the soap from your eyes. No fun that. But all systems have this same problem to a greater or lesser degree. So go ahead and get a combi, as long as you understand they have limitations , they are very good.
- Q: we are cold with no heating or hot water, happened after bleeding the radiators to our flexicom boiler. first said F11 now F22. tried reset and turning temp right down, also checked outside laggin. what is happening please and can we resolve it without hassling the landlord? we have 3 young children who are freezing! can anyone help please.

- 1, boiler product certification and quality certificates and other safety-related factory technical information is complete;
- Q: how do you bleed the boiler?
- To properly bleed a boiler takes time and Patience. Your boiler should have an auto fill valve to let water in. Hopefully you also have boiler drains on each zone. These drains will have a connection to hook up a garden hose. Direct the garden hose to a drain in the floor, or somewhere that will get rid of the water. Caution, this water is not only hot(180-200 Degrees) but can be very black as well, so choose carefully were you drain to. Turn one of your t-stats up so the zone you are working on comes on, you can feel the hot water by placing your hand on the pipe, again be care full, it is very hot. if the zone is open but not flowing, slowly opening the drain should push the air lock through. do not open or drain the zone to quick, you do not want to let the boiler go dry, bad things happen then. When you feel the hot water come back to the boiler through the pipe you know you have flow. You can hear the air in the pipes as it circulates and open the drain slowly to purge the air out. You need to do this to each and every zone in the system. It is advisable to have an experienced HVAC tech. do this if you are not comfortable, and watch him, ask questions. This is your system, you should know how and why it works. Good luck.
