The boiler is a double-drum longitudinal natural circulation assembled water-tube boiler. The body is divided into two parts, the assembly body and the assembly grate. The combustion equipment adopts light chain grate, with stepless speed transmission device. The front, rear and two sides of the water-cooled wall are arranged in the furnace, and the water-cooled wall on both sides adopts dense tube bundles. The furnace is arranged with high and short front arch and low and long back arch, covering about 70 % of the length of the grate. The convection section uses a partition wall to fold the flue gas into three return journeys, and two ash removal holes are arranged. Cast iron economizer and heat pipe air preheater are arranged at the tail. The blower blows the cold air into the air preheater for preheating and then enters the inlet ducts on both sides of the boiler. It rises to the furnace through six independent grate air chambers. Each inlet duct is equipped with an adjustment door to make the air distribution adjustment on the grate simple.

The coal hopper is arranged in front of the combustion equipment, and the coal gate adopts a water-cooled cast steel serrated shape, which effectively increases the surface area of the coal seam and is conducive to the full combustion of coal.

The fuel enters the furnace combustion through the coal hopper device, and the high-temperature flue gas absorbed by the water-cooled wall of the furnace enters the cooling chamber. The flue gas is discharged into the cast iron economizer after heat exchange in the convection section, and then enters the heat pipe air preheater, and then passes through the dust collector. Finally, it is pumped by the induced draft fan from the chimney to the atmosphere.

The brown is rust.leak at top is prob over pressure valve.Bottom..if not coming from pipes that need replacing better have boiler checked.if pin holes from rust in bottom it is no longer safe under pressure.pipes and joints can be replaced or fixed if loose.A boiler that leaks from too much rust is potentially dangerous.Get a licensed plumber who has boiler experience to look at it.

If your house is a single zone with one thermostat then the first thing to eliminate is the thermostat. Doesn't matter its age it can be new and be broken.With the power off remove the face plate on the thermostat and disconnect the wire connected to the w terminal. Put a small wire nut on the wire and turn on the boiler, if it is stays off for some time then you have your problem.If you turn on your boiler and a damper on the flu pipe opens then there's a clicking sound and the pump starts then we need more information. Shut of the power, put your wire back and put your thermostat back.

Right now, heating oil on the retail market is about $2.39/gallon which comes to 130,000 BTUs of heat. Natural Gas is averaging about 1.17/therm, which comes to 100,000 BTUs. The cost per 100,000 BTU delivered inside your house (counting boiler losses) will be about $1.24 for natural gas, and about $2.04 for oil, about a 40% premium. Go for a high-efficiency gas-fired boiler, something from Weil Mclain, Burnham, Slant-Fin or any of several others of similar quality and efficiency. We just replaced our old 400,000 BTU oil-burner with a 230,000 BTU gas burner last March, 2008 - net to the house is the same for both systems.
