Calcium Silicon Powder

1. Description:

Silicon Calcium Alloy is a stable compound; it is supplied in the form of solid with approximate melting point of 1245°C and boiling point 1800°C in normal atmospheric pressure.

Solubility in water reacts with moist gas and water.

Silicon Calcium Alloy is a potent deoxidizer and desulfurizer utilized in the production of high grade steels. Although Silicon itself is a powerful deoxidizer, Calcium is by far more powerful. In addition, Calcium Silicon is used to control the shape, size and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions improving fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the final product. Calcium Silicon can be obtained in lump or powder form. The most widely used method for intergraded steel applications is in the form of cored wire. This is mainly because calcium has a low density and high reactivity in the ladle making it difficult to introduce and retain in the melt. Cored wire eliminates these variables.

3. Application:

(1) Silicon calcium alloy is an ideal deoxidizer and desulfurizer.

(2) CaSi is generally used in manufacturing steel of high quality and low carbon, and the same as the production of stainless.

(3) CaSi is also served as a starting material for other special alloys, such as nickel base alloy and titanium base alloy.

(4) Silicon Calcium Alloy can also be used as the inoculant of cast iron and the additive in the production of nodular cast iron.

Q: A challenge to all Metalheads, Here is a list of All the acknowledged major Metal genres:Alternative MetalAvant-Garde MetalBlack MetalDeath MetalDoom MetalFolk MetalGothic MetalGrindcoreGroove MetalHeavy MetalIndustrial MetalMetalcoreNeo-Classical MetalPower MetalProgressive MetalSludge MetalSpeed MetalStoner MetalSymphonic MetalThrash MetalViking MetalThe Challenge is to name a band you like or can least tolerate from each genre, and a favorite album from said genre.
The other answer here is a good one. Since you are dealing with paper chromatography here, I cannot help but think a flame test might be useful
Q: I know that one band is classic Thrash and one is Nu-Metal, but these are my favorite bands. Why is it that metal purist love to discriminate against Nu-metal bands? Slipknot might not be as thrash as Slayer but the Vocals are much heavier than slayer. Slipknot is obviously not death metal but they are the heaviest and one of the most innovative and talented bands around. I personally don't care if i'm not a true quot;metalheadquot; if I like slipknot, I just wanted to get your opinions. Why do people discriminate against Slipknot?
Actually the answer to this question is slightly more complicated than the average cynic would have it. (By the way, sodium is a metal). Metals have several properties common to them: 1. They conduct electricity 2. They are ductile, and malleable 3. They are GENERALLY white and lustrous (few exceptions, such as copper, gold...lustrous but yellow/red) 4. They conduct electricity and heat very well. 5. They have generally low electronegativities compared to non-metals. For non-metals, reverse these properties and you have a good physical description. E.g. They don't conduct electricity or heat very well, they're not malleable or ductile, they're generally not lustrous, their electronegativities are relatively high, etc. You find most metals GENERALLY to the left on the Periodic Table, while you find non-metals generally to the right. That notable jagged line you see on many periodic table examples is said to divide the two categories, but it's a fuzzy line at best. There are metalloids, for example, that contain SOME properties of each, making life interesting for us chemists who like to classify things.
Q: Ulver switched from black metal to techno, black metal fans didn't complain about it nearly as much as nu metal fans complained when Linkin Park changed their style, we pretty much respected the fact that Ulver DGAF what we think, and will play whatever music they damn well please.
Check out yahoos metal chat room.
Q: Any good nu-metal or alternative metal bands?
Heavy metal,power metal,metalcore,thrash metal,death metal,black metal and gothic thats all i got
Q: What metal is the hardest and has the most resistance to acids and corrosion?
Eh, no
Q: Like I said in the other BotB, if I only do a limit of 16 sub-genres for rock and metal combined then I'll probably miss out a lot of them. This is the metal BotB. There are 12 sub-genres of metal here, I didn't do 16 like the rock/punk BotB in case RP weren't familiar with 16 sub genres of metal. Please choose TWO of your favorite bands for each. Like I said in the other BotB, if one sub-genre doesn't get enough bands then I'll get rid of it. I'll keep this question up for a week, or 4 days if I don't get any answers for a while. Thanks everyone ( = Heavy Metal (20th Century) - Heavy Metal (All time) - Groove metal - Industrial Metal - Trash Metal - Progressive Metal -Speed Metal - Gothic Metal - Symphonic Metal - Power Metal -Metalcore/Deathcore - Nu Metal -
You just don't have enough power to do it! Did you know Pure H2O haves no electrons and can't conduct electricity! Example: Lightning when it hits the ground it turns it to glass and you can dig and see it how it got Earthed :D
Q: like Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Incubus...DEATH METAL ROCKS
Are Metals Crystalline
Q: is it possible to make some metal songs about Islam ?
Metals: Shiny, form Ionic bonds, Hard/tough Nonmetals: Form ionic bonds, form covalent bonds, mostly gases at room temp.
Q: Do you think nu-metal is metal? Alot of people believe that metalcore, and nu metal is not metal...I think that both genres are metal...just not pure metal. They include other influences. But with nu-metal, I still have mixed feelings. I'm used to metal being all rock, not rap mixed with rock. But I have to admit it, whether I like it or not, it's metal...only with rap influences. Nevertheless...metal. IMO atleast.Tell me what you think...do you think nu-metal is metal?and what about metalcore?
Physically, metals are those chemical substances that are rigid, malleable, ductile and tensile. However there are some exceptions to such metallic properties like K,Na and Cs are neither rigid nor tensile...There are various other physical properties of metals like Sonour,Lustre, etc. and exceptions are also there in them... So the chemical definition classifies substances into Metals and Non-Metals without any exceptions ,on the basis of their tendency to attain a completely filled valence shell of electrons... Chemically, metals are chemical substances which are capable of giving electrons to other substances to form electro-positive ions called cations.Metals generally give electrons to non-metals (which are chemical substances capable of gaining electrons to form electro-negative ions called anions) to form Electrovalent or Ionic Compounds.
Q: I hear about all sorts of genres of metal, and don't particularly feel like looking them up on wikipedia. Can you give me general characteristics/definitons about, but not limited to:Black MetalDeath MetalExtreme MetalPower Metaland could you also give me some really good examples of each? Thanks! Also, any other genres of metal you feel like defining would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
All cheaper, non-precious metals are called 'base metal'. That includes copper, brass, bronze, pewter, iron, tin, zinc and so on. Precious metal are gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and a few others. Metals are 'precious' because they are rare (expensive), beautiful etc. A lot of base metal is very beautiful on it's own (I love solid copper and brass/bronze jewelry), but most commercially available base metal jewelry is plated (with gold or rhodium/silver) to look like precious metal. That's where the problems start. The plating wears off after a short while and the base metal starts being visible. If it is pinkish, it is copper. So, as far as I am concerned, you are fine if you buy solid base metal. That way, the base metal is polished and sealed (check out the link below for some shiny copper earrings) and you can clean it to a bright color. It's the plated metal, I would stay away from, especially for a ring.
