- Core is the reference to Hardcore. Metalcore is the bend of thrash and black metal with Hardcore punk, you see this mostly in bands like Zao, Poison The Well, and Shia Hulud. So YES, Metalcore is metal. Deathcore is this mix of Death Metal with Metalcore but really I hear no difference aside from the fact that in Deathcore they tune to drop B and the screamer does mostly lows. and NO its not rock. And before you say its commercialized metal think about this, what gets more air play?

- After listening to tons of different genres... black, death, sludge, doom, avantgarde, goth, viking, blackened death, power, speed, heavy metal, mesopotamian black, industrial, hummpa-black metal hybrid (how else do you describe Finntroll?)... I must say I'm partial to black. I started out listening to Dimmu Borgir, (which, may I add, In Sorte Diaboli is actually better than I thought it would be), and got addicted to black metal. Used music stores are my version of heaven. If there's some random used cd that's under $10 and looks interesting, I'll buy it. (That's how I discovered Naer Mataron)

- I still don't understand what the phrase new age metal is suppose to mean, are you talking about any metal that was made in the last 5 years or something? How is death metal new age? Death Metal has been around since the late 80's or something, it's hardly new, groove metal isn't new, Pantera was groove metal starting in 91' with cowboys from hell (before that they were glam)... Metal is Metal, and I like Metal, so if that means that I like new age metal than I guess I like new age metal.

- metal... come on rock just doesnt bring the musicianship, lyrics, and sheer brilliant songwriting intensity that metal brings... rock is still good ( all i listen to is classic and prog rock though, cause modern rock sucks!), but metal no competition! nice avatar very black metal!
