Hot Rolled Steel is widely available in the A36 steel alloy. The process to create Hot Rolled Steel

creates a more ductile steel with a rough surface finish and is sometimes more difficult to machine.

The cost is usually much less than a similar Cold Rolledproduct. Hot Rolled Steel A36 comes in

many shapes including: hot rolled steel flat bars, hot rolled steel flat bars, hot rolled steel round

bars, hot rolled steel square bars, hot rolled steel channels, hot rolled steel angles, and hot rolled

tubing. Order Hot Rolled Steel Alloys in A36 Hot Rolled Steel Alloys and Hot Rolled Stainless Steel

Sheets in small quantities and no minimums of all Stainless Steel at The Metal Store.

Uses: Hot rolled products like hot rolled steel bars are used in the welding and construction trades

to make railroad tracks and I-beams, for example. Hot rolled steel is used in situations where

precise shapes and tolerances are not required.

Q: what is the difference between METAL and STEEL?
Metal is the generic name for several pure chemical elements and they alloys that can be made from them. Steel is used to designate alloys that consist mainly of iron, with a limited proportion of carbon in them.
Q: How many pounds can steel lift?
Well, metal steel can lift an infinite amount of weight if necessary, BUT it can only withstand tensile PRESSURE up to a certain amount. That amount depends on what kind of steel you have; you can have low and high carbon steel, for example, here are some maximum tensile forces a lot of common steels can withstand: Coated Steel (Galvanized): 200-215 GPa Terne Coated Stainless Steel: 189 - 197 GPa Terne Coated Steel: 185-200 GPa AirMet100 High alloy steel: 193-203 GPa AF1410: 203 -213 GPa 17% Cobalt Steel: 199-209 GPa 36% Cobalt Steel: 199-209 GPa 6% Tungsten Steel: 218-229 GPa A-286: 201-211 GPa N-115: 201-211 GPa 250 Maraging Steel: 183 - 192 GPa 280 (300) Maraging Steel: 183-192 GPa And that's just Coated and High-alloy steels, I have yet to go through Cast Irons, Commercial-purity Iron, Low alloy steel, low carbon steel, medium alloy steel, medium carbon steel, stainless steels, tool steels, and very low carbon steels, and I'm not even sure if this is a complete list of the different types of steels in the world. TL;DR We need more information. EDIT: By pressure, I mean the negative tensile type of pressure. EDIT 2: At it's thinnest point, most supportive skeletal features will be able to support 132 pounds quite easily. However, if you want to make an effective light-weight strong skeleton, I would suggest using aluminium rather than steel.
Q: Is steel case ammo going to mess the gun up or is it just going to wear the parts out faster and if so how much faster? (I am not planning on reloading the rounds)
True, brass ammo is hard to find. Your only real options in brass is Remington, Winchester, American Eagle, UMC, PMC, Fiocchi, and a sometimes a few various imports. Most of these can be difficult to find in large quantites and are costly. There was surplus from South Africa, Yugoslavia, Egypt and possibly Iran that was brass but almost all of it is difficult to find. The AK was designed around steel cased ammo. I shoot plenty of it through my guns and have little worry about any parts damage or accelerated wear. Other than the option of reloading, brass doesn't offer much that steel can't provide.

Q: What is the difference between steel coils and steel sheets?
Steel coils and steel sheets are both forms of steel, but they have distinct differences. Steel coils refer to a long, continuous roll of steel that is wound up into a coil shape. These coils are usually produced at a steel mill and are typically used for further processing or manufacturing purposes. Steel coils are commonly used in various industries such as automotive, construction, and appliance manufacturing. They are often used to produce different products like pipes, tubes, and automotive parts. On the other hand, steel sheets are flat pieces of steel that are typically cut from steel coils. These sheets are available in various sizes and thicknesses, making them versatile for different applications. Steel sheets are commonly used in construction projects, such as roofing, siding, and structural components. They are also used in manufacturing processes, such as stamping, forming, and fabrication of various products. One key difference between steel coils and steel sheets is their shape and form. Steel coils are in a rolled, cylindrical form, while steel sheets are in a flat, rectangular shape. This difference in shape makes steel coils more suitable for continuous production processes, while steel sheets are used for specific applications that require flat surfaces. Another difference is the handling and transportation of these steel forms. Steel coils are typically transported and stored using special equipment, such as coil cars or cranes, due to their large size and weight. Steel sheets, on the other hand, can be easily stacked, transported, and stored using conventional methods. Lastly, the processing requirements of steel coils and steel sheets differ. Steel coils often undergo additional processing steps, such as slitting, cutting, or coating, to meet specific customer requirements. Steel sheets, on the other hand, may require minimal processing before being used in their intended applications. In summary, steel coils and steel sheets differ in their shape, handling, transportation, and processing requirements. Steel coils are rolled, cylindrical forms used for further processing, while steel sheets are flat pieces cut from coils and used for specific applications. Understanding these differences is crucial in selecting the appropriate steel form for a particular project or manufacturing process.
Q: How are steel coils used in the automotive stamping industry?
Steel coils are used in the automotive stamping industry to provide a continuous supply of flat steel sheets that are then fed into stamping machines. These coils are unrolled, straightened, and then fed through the stamping presses to create various automotive parts, such as body panels, chassis components, and other structural parts. The use of steel coils ensures efficiency, precision, and a consistent quality in the production of automotive parts.
Q: How are steel coils labeled and identified?
Steel coils are labeled and identified through a variety of methods to ensure proper tracking and handling throughout their journey. The labeling and identification process typically involves the following steps: 1. Manufacturer's Identification: The steel coil is initially marked with the manufacturer's name or logo, allowing for easy identification of the company that produced it. 2. Coil Number: Each steel coil is assigned a unique identification number, commonly referred to as a coil number. This number is often stamped or etched onto the surface of the coil and is used for tracking and inventory purposes. 3. Size and Weight: Steel coils are labeled with their size and weight specifications. This information helps in determining the dimensions and weight capacity of the coil, allowing for appropriate handling and transportation arrangements. 4. Grade and Material: The grade and material composition of the steel coil are typically indicated on the labeling. This provides essential information about the properties and quality of the steel, ensuring it is utilized correctly in manufacturing processes. 5. Heat or Lot Number: Steel coils can also be labeled with a heat or lot number, which refers to the production batch from which the coil originated. This information helps in traceability and quality control, facilitating identification in case of any issues or defects. 6. Barcodes or QR codes: Many steel coils are now labeled with barcodes or QR codes, which can be scanned using automated systems. These codes contain all relevant information about the coil, allowing for efficient data capture and management throughout the supply chain. Proper labeling and identification of steel coils are crucial for effective logistics management, inventory control, and quality assurance. By employing these identification methods, manufacturers, distributors, and end-users can easily track, handle, and utilize steel coils in a safe and efficient manner.
Q: What other metal is used to make rings? My girlfriend is allergic to stainless steel, but she wears a silver/grayish color ring, but I'm not sure what metal it is. Any ideas? Thanks!
can she wear sterling silver or white cooper?
Q: I juuuust got a new stainless steel sink only 5 months ago, and it already has a couple rust spots on it.What caused this?!
This is usually surface rust caused from other non-stainless objects coming in contact with the sink. It is a stain, more than actual rusting of the sink. Barkeepers Friend works well for cleaning stainless steel. Find it in the cleaning aisle of most larger stores.
Q: How are steel coils used in the production of industrial tanks?
Steel coils are used in the production of industrial tanks as they are rolled into cylindrical shapes and welded together to form the tank's body. The coils provide a durable and strong structure, capable of withstanding high pressure and temperature conditions. Additionally, the steel coils can be customized to meet specific size and shape requirements, allowing for efficient and cost-effective tank production.
