- If you have access to a socket wrench of the right size and configuration, it might work. Some bed bolts, though, have square heads and most socket sets work on hex heads (6-sided). As far as how to do it. remove the mattress, box spring, and slats. have a helper hold the footboard while you remove the bed bolts. Slide off the footboard and repeat with the headboard.

However, most of the dealers I contact online tell me that they don't recommend using their bed frame with anything other than a regular mattress. What is the best solution for my problem? - My son had a guinea 2 guinea pigs and i made him get rid of them because the bedding was getting to expensive and the cage stunk sooooo bad. After months of him begging me for another guinea pig i decided to give him another try so i surprised him with another guinea pig i did some research before i got him and the new thing for guinea pig cages is fleece and so we set up the cage with fleece vs bedding and i am so glade that i gave in and got it for him because the fleece is the best there is no smell and if he spot cleans it the cage wont smell and saves allot of money. What u do is layer the cage with newspaper or a dog pee pad that u can 10 pee pads from the 99 cent store then if u use newspaper put a towel but if u used pee pads u don't even need a towel and just wash the fleece weekly and it will be cute and clean for sure.
- Q: I need somewhere to order big amounts of cheap guinea pig bedding. I tried using fleece,towels,newspaper etc but they just continue to smell and are a pain. I prefer using aspen, woodchips or some kind of bedding. I have a big (2x5 foot) cage with 3 guinea pigs. Bedding from the pet store for an appropriate size costs $20. That's like $20 a week! - On amazon, they have really cheap bedding. Just search guinea pig bedding, and something along the lines of aspen bedding, 8 cubic feet will be there. (the picture looks like a big brown paper bagish thing.) It lasts, like, 4 months. :)
