Q:So, I‘m hoping to get my braces on before September and I was wondering if I were to get ceramic ones, would they have the same results as the metal ones? I really want the ceramic ones because they look more appealing and and a lot of my friends are getting their braces off and im about to begin so yeah. i would prefer the clear ones. if there are any people who have had experience w/ clear/ceramic please let me know, tips, how to get the best results would be much appreciated. thanks so much!
hey! so I have ceramic braces and yes, they work exactly the same and you will get the same results. if your treatment time is say 2 years, it wont make a difference if you have ceramic or metal. how do i know this? one, i did a crap load of research before i got my ceramic braces and two, i asked my ortho right before i got them on. now, in terms on aesthetics.they really do look A LOT better than metal. now when i say that i mean that they are simply less noticeable. when a person smiles you don't see a bunch of metal and honestly, it has taken a couple months for some people to even know that i have them on. it's not as if you are hiding the fact that you wear braces, they just are not so crazy obvious and they blend in better. I can't even tell you how happy i am that i got ceramics. they work EXACTLY the same as metal. before i got mine on I read on some web sites that the brackets were not as strong as metal. that is simply not true. unless you are chewing on rocks it makes no difference. I personally have had mine on for a year now and have had zero problems. one big thing that i kept on reading about before i got mine were that they stain. there are a lot of misconceptions on this on so here is the real deal: the ceramic BRACKETS do NOT stain. what can stain are the clear BANDS that go around the wire to keep the wire on the brackets. these little bands get changed every month. in terms of staining it's not some crazy yellow stain. you cannot even tell as it all blends in with your teeth so much.you can get around that by just having grey on the little bands if you want although i have always stuck with clear as they have never stained for me. all in all, i say get the ceramic ones. they look so so so much better than metal if the metal look is what bothers you. i am really happy with mine and would recommend them to anyone! don't let anyone tell you that they don't do as good of a job or that they take longer; it's simply not true. hope that helped!
Q:I‘m a history major, just looking to add one more class that fits into my awkward schedule. One of the few I can choose from is history of ceramics for an elective credit. Has anyone taken this type of class and able to offer an idea of what exactly it might include? I‘m considering it, but don‘t know if it will be worth it.
history of ceramics will probably say how ceramics was a technology that developed cultures, as well as being art. For example, ceramics technology helped people store and transport food and water, which was vital to the success of cultures
Q:we are planning on putting down tile in our kitchen floor and are wondering which is better and long lasting the ceramic or porcelain tile. If anyone knows which is better please let me know.
Not all tile is the same. Ceramic and Porcelain tile all have a rating from 1 to 5. Menards has the rating posted for every tile and every tile shop should have that information on each tile. Rating 1 is the weakest and really only suitable for wall tile. It breaks too easy. Rating 3 is common for low moderate traffic areas such as bathrooms and kitchens. Rating 4 is for takes a heavier abuse than rating 3 and is basically used for the same tasks. Rating 5 is the toughest commonly used for heavy traffic such as in malls, driveways, outdoor tile, etc. Porcelain tile is a little more water resistant than ceramic. Ceramic lets a trace amount of water filter through.
Q:I want to make snakes replicas for different decors, miniatures, actual size or giant size. I am thinking about ceramic as material, but I do not know the row materials in making ceramic, and also where to buy them. Thanks.
ceramic clay is what you are looking for. You have to fire the clay to get that shiney,or glazed look to it.
Q:I am in a Ceramics art class at school i graduate in two weeks after that I will not be able to have access to a kiln. does any one know were i can buy one. plus does any one know how high this will make my elecrical bill.
Kiln's are extrememly expensive and unless your planning on making ceramics your full time/part time profession it's really not worth buying. There should be some local ceramic pottery or greenware stores that may have a kiln you can use. They may charge you a small firing fee depending on the size of the peice but it is a lot cheaper than purchasing your own kiln. I would suggest trying to find something like that before buying a kiln or finding a How To fact sheet on building your own, inexpensive kiln at home. It can be done!
Q:I know invisalign is like twice as much as regular braces and only has a 50% succes rate so im not getting them. But what about ceramic braces ? Do they cost more and if so how much more? Are they good for people who need significant treatment (unlike invisalign)? Tell me what you know plz thanx
B.S. FIRST remove ALL the wrong fluid from reservoir with a TURKEY BASTER. Actually ALL brake fluid reservoirs WILL COME OFF EASIY some have a bolt and otheres are just PRESSED IN Once it is REMOVED and washed out with BRAKE CLEANER re-install it and fill with FRESH FACTORY ONLY BRAKE FLUID. This means NO UNIVERSAL JUNK If this is a HONDA use HONDA brake fluid, etc. Use a POWER BLEEDER to create pressure in the system, and power bleed EVERY BRAKE starting from right rear, left rear, right front, left front. You can do this TWICE for safe keeping. The SEALS will heal themselves and a MINUTE portion of steering fluid will NOT affect braking. IT is MORE of a problem in a way to use a DIFFERETN KIND of brake fluid in there. GOOD LUCK!!
Q:I‘m looking to get rid of my normal non-stick frying pans to exchange them for something more eco-friendly and just healthier over all. (even though it hasn‘t been completely proved that tephlon can cause health problems through pans, I need new ones, and I‘d just rather not take chances) I‘m not looking to spend a ton, but I would like to get something that will last and obviously cook foods nicely. I‘m seeing a good amount of porcelain and ceramic pans.but I‘m not sure which to go with. Any ideas?
Unfortunatly you can't really do anything. They might have to give a reason of why they fired you or your boyfriend. But that's why i say 'Marriage BEFORE a Baby Carriage'
Q:Hello I have a fuji sl1 with kysrium elite wheels by mavic, and a ultegra sl drivetrain, i would like to know what brand of ceramic bearings should i go for. Thanks
My advice is to forget ceramic bearings. They won't make you go faster unless you are an elite racer looking to shave a few seconds off of a long time trial. I am pretty sure that all the bearings on your bike except the bottom bracket and headset are cup and cone with loose bearings. Take the time to completely overhaul the surfaces- remove the bearings, clean all surfaces of the factory grease, and reinstall with white lithium grease. Don't pack the bearings- Coat the races with a small amount of grease- just barely enough to coat it- and roll each bearing between your finger until thinly coated. Do this every 1500 miles and you'll be far ahead of the ceramic bearing peloton. If you really want to go overboard get some high grade stainless steel balls from your local bearing supplier.
Q:I am soon to get a baby bearded dragon and i am wondering if it would be okay to use ceramic tiles, like you would have in your bathroom or kitchen; i have looked around and found nothing on this, i am not using sand as i do not want to chance impaction, all answers appreciated. Thanks.
Ceramic tiles work just fine (I have some in my Leo's enclosure) but I would use the textured tiles, like outdoor/patio tiles, not the perfectly smooth ones; the reptile will have little to no traction and will have a hard time catching food and moving about.
Q:I need art credit for high school but I don‘t want to take an extra elective. I am considering taking it over the summer but I‘m wondering if it is worth the Tu/Wed/Thu 9 to 1 for eight weeks and is the class easy and fun or boring and hard. Thanks.
Someone said don't attach to AC. He is DAMN right. I once tried it when I was kid. Blew up the house fuse :D Make sure you attach to some sort of battery. Car battery should work.
