Q:On every excavator there are Gadgets we sometimes use depending on the nature of job one is doing and i came across the button in question and i did not know how it works.
i came across it, still figuring it out. maybe it is to delete all memory/pause every function of the excavator temporarily?
Q:Bench tested altinator,it's good, new batteries, new belts, checked fuses, still only 24.8 volts at the batteries.Should be around 28 volts with engine running. Display in opperators cab reads quot;charging problemquot;. Is there a relay I don't know about?
yes yu may have an external regulator fitted , some times its under the seat , maye be elsewhere , might be near fuse box , should be bigger than a normal relay , will have alt written on it , probably black and plastic , yu can try and call dealer parts section and ask them if there's one on yur machine , yu will need serial number of coz , if its imported serial number wont be any good , is the charge indicator light on the control panel working , did yu check the fuses ?........ move them around in case there's a corroded connection , how many wires on back of alternator ?.......should be big red one , and at least one small one ( signal wire ) make sure this is ok , make sure wiring harness from engine to chassis is ok , yu might find wiring diagramm on internet , this will show external reg , are there any small wires connected to the big ht ( high tension ) wire on the battery ?.......is there an inline fuse fitted there ?? .....is corrosion a problem with any part of the harness ? dont be afraid to cut open the harness with a box cutter knife if yu think yu have a problem , its ok it wont bleed , just retape back together in a proffesional manner when checked out ,
Q:I need some work done and none of the excavators call me back. I'm thinking about buying one and doing some part time work with it if the demand is so high they wont return calls.

Q:I am interested in buying a mini excavator what kind of trailer ,the excavator will weigh about 5500lbs give or take to modle i get. will my 250 be able to tow this. ill have to get a trailer break system put in. It has a 7 prong connector but theres nothing for braking in it if i am correct?its a 2004 Ford 250 super duty would a regular car trailer work? i don't know how much they can hold.
If have all that, you're F-250 will more than read for the job. My company has smaller 1/2 ton trucks that pull 7000 lbs. GVWR equipment trailers all the time.
Q:I'm doing a landscape assignment that includes a pool and i need to know a cheap price for a pool, preferabley under ground and around the size of 4x8m? And also the site where you got the info from, thankyou!
You've got a number of variables to contend with here. 1/ Is this a vinyl liner pool? A gunite pool? or a Fiberglass pool? All have differing costs for the same size pool. 2/ Cost of labor and materials in the area the project is to be done. This differs. 3/ Ease of access into the backyard for excavation equipment etc. If you have to rent a crane to lift an excavator over a house because there's no other way in for example...that adds a lot to the base price. 4/ That dirt from the excavation has to go somewhere. Often it costs to dump it even in clean fill areas. If that dirt contains anything else like construction debris in a sub division that was backfilled in ( common practice) it'll cost more to dispose of. You'd be surprised what's under people's back yards in subdivisions. This is why pool builders come out to do a site survey first before they give an estimate. Every backyard is different. I can only give you two guesstimates. One based on a vinyl inground and one based on a gunite in the Toronto area. The backyard being easily accessible. Vinyl: 20-27 grand. The price will vary with installed equipment. Things like a salt generator will add 1200 bucks to the base price. A DE filter costs more than a sand filter etc.... Gunite: Starts at around 30 grand. What I suggest you do is to look at websites for pool companies local to you that give base prices for their kit packages for vinyl or fiberglass pools. You won't find anything like this for gunite pools because they are all hand crafted from the bottom up and no two are identical. With the vinyl or fiberglass pools you can work out typical labor costs since most companies will advertise how quickly they can install them and a pool crew usually averages 4-6 guys. Failing that...give a pool company a call and ask for their best guess over the phone, letting them know the particulars of this imaginary back yard. Ease of access etc.
Q:Does it take longer and more difficult to dig a foundation than to put up floors of a building. How about cost
Interesting question. Digging the hole for the foundation is much faster than putting up the floors. Using a house as an example, the excavator usually can dig the hole in a few hours. Then, one day to pour the footings for the foundation, another day to form and pour the walls (if using that type of foundation). If using block wall foundation, figure a few days. Now comes the framing. Depending on the size of the house, it will take anywhere from 1-3 days to frame in the first floor deck. Figure another 2-7 days to frame the first floor walls, depending on the crew size and complexity of the plan. Repeat for any additional floors and then roof. There is no way to give you a cost. You have not given any information, such as size and type of building, location, construction materials, etc. Hope this helps.
Q:I'm still in highschool but I can do an apprenticeship program to help me.
Joining the Job Core for heavy machinery operating can give you training and job placement and housing and some Grant money to get by on wile your in Trade Schooling for operating machinery. Other then that you pretty much need a Referral from some one that knows some owners of construction companies and can get you started. Some Jobs last for a long time and other are short and time between jobs are some times long. There is a machinery Operators union and they have there own training school and on the job training.
Q:We have a crimson maple tree in our yard that needs to be moved approx' 50' due to an addition to our home. It is 20' tall with a drip line of 15 feet and a trunk diameter of 6quot; -7quot;. Some landscapers say to move it with a tree spade, and others say it should by hand dug and balled with burlap before moving. Which method would you recommend?
A 20 foot tree is really too big for you to move by yourself. The roots will have spread approx. 20 feet across and they may go that deep as well. That makes for a very major dig in your yard. I would look at having professional landscapers do it. The Muse
Q:I can't find the battery. I tried to follow the electrical wiring to no avail. Thanks in advance. Also does anyone know where I can find a service manual to download?
Normally with any of the mini excavators there under the seat or stored on the right side under the hydraulic tank cover, but as our company refuses to buy any of the JBC garbage thats only a guess at to where that podunk company puts there batterys all our mini's are Kubota up to the 080, anything bigger will be John Deere, Case or Komatsu.
Q:What are the steps in getting a new structure tied into the cities sewer/water utilities? Do ordinary plumbers do this or do you have to get a specialist to perform this work? Would anyone know what permits are necessary, what is all involved to get this taken care of?
Yes you will need a plumbing permit, most plumbers will work with an excavator to dig the trench to the sewer. Contact a licensed and insured plumber in your area (ask around for references). They will run a trench from your exisiting drain lines to the sewer and make a connection, same with your water supply lines if needed.
