Q:what are the people who level the land called? (are they land levelers)?
Terraformers, landscape gardeners, civil engineers and many other names, but whats in a name or title, its the action that counts.
Q:the question is' the city of rubber ville plans to dig a rectanguler landfil. the landfil will have a base with demensions 700 ft by 200 ft and a depth of 85 ft.'1- how many cubi feet of garbage will the landfill hold?2- what information would you need to determine how long the landfil can be used until its full?3- an excavator was hired to dig the hole for the landfill. how many cubic yards of dirft will he have to haul away?i reaally dont get this!can you please explain 1, 2, and 3 to me??
Well for number 1, simply find the volume by multiplying the given dimensions For number 2, you would need to know approxamitely the volume of trash going in daily, or something along those lines For the third, convert dimensions to yards, then multiply them? That's how I would do it, unless I misread the question
Q:There's a huge construction site (buildings being torn down) that I drive by on my way to work, and it's full of various heavy equipment. I'm fascinated by the excavators, because they remind me of giant, toothy quot;mouthsquot; on the end of long arms. It's also interesting to see how precisely they can chomp, lift and/or move things with their quot;jawsquot;. (I know, they're actually called buckets, heads and/or attachments, but I like the metaphor of mouths and jaws. *grin*)I was just curious how easy or difficult excavators are to operate? I'm guessing they're more challenging than some pieces of construction equipment. Hopefully at least some folks here have experience using them. Thanks and have a great weekend! :)
You can learn the macro-maneuvers rather quickly with a few days of practice. That is, you can dig a trench, clear out and move dirt from a large area. You master the controls and then you get an understanding of where the machine ought to be in relationship to the work. That's for the purpose of leverage and operator safety. The micro-maneuvers require a deft touch. There are operators who routinely can pick up a branch and stack it on a pile of other brnaches. This skill take quite a while to develop and there are operators who never quite master it. That is essential when there are laborers on the site who could be in danger of getting hurt with a small mistake on the operator's part. Using the thumb -- a separate lever opposite the bucket can be tricky as well. But unless you master that, you would not be able to use the excavator to tear down structures very well.
Q:I need a Right hand drive motor for a 220x bobcat mini excavator, any idea where I can get a used one?
www.okorder /
Q:Anyone know the costs/taxes/duties involved in importing a excavator into canada?
Contact CRA on this, it's not a simple process. It'll depend what, where it was built, all sorts of factors. You'll want to deal through a customs broker, they can also estimate the taxes and fees. You'd also be advised to check your local provincial licensing regulations, worker's compensation board etc, they may have specific rules on safety equipment etc.
Q:How about Carter excavator model?
When you buy a Caterpillar excavator, you need to pay attention to the length of the arm and the bucket. Caterpillar's idea is to maximize customer satisfaction requirements, so that the same type of excavator on the configuration will be different, such as the long arm and bucket capacity, and lighting protection device, radio, etc.
Q:what are some dental supplies?
Toothpaste, toothbrush, floss and mouthwash.
Q:Could a paleontologist that found a dinosaur skeleton make good money from the find? I know I have to go to grad school for this? This is when they make the money isn't it? I know of a nice site to find trilobites that know on else knows the only bad thing is that these are headless and some are curled up and others are flattened out. However, I have also found many caves in my area that haven't been gone through by excavators. The caves probably have some prehistoric bones. Either way lady geologist your on a role and have 20 pts so far unless some one gives me a better answer.
I volunteer (as a geologist) with a museum of paleontology that has about 10 paleontologists / geologists. None of them are rich through discovery, publishing or speaking. The fellow I work with does nicely investing in stocks and real estate. Here in Alberta Canada fossils belong to to the government (the Queen of England in fact). It is illegal to remove or possess them. The best you can expect (if you find a new species) is to have it named after you (ie Bobosaurus) There is a case in S Dakota where the largest T rex (named Sue) was found on BLM land. It was worth millions but the private company was treated harshly by the feds (FBI etc).
Q:I see people from time to time claim that WTC leaseholder Larry Silverstein admitted that building 7 was pulled down by a controlled demolition on national TV. This seems stupid beyond words. Is there any truth to this claim?
do you mean after the fact when they had found cracks in the foundations of the surrounding buildings ?
Q:I am building a small cottage and the excavator is starting the hole for the crawl space/ foundation. I need a simple, standard contract for us to sign with each other. Anybody have such a thing handy?
