Q:I put a new ignition switch in it. Had just put a new starter in it. There is a electric motor that looks like a windshield wiper motor and gear box that runs the diesel on off, I am thinking. It used to go on and off (back and forth) now it doesnt move. So I can start it, it runs great but when I turn the key off everything quits working but the engine keeps running. If anybody has any ideas...........Thank you: There's a solenoid on the fuel pump that is supposed to shut off the fuel when you turn the key off.It's usually not much. Go to the local dealership with the model and make and they'll be able to tell you for sure.They go out once in a while.It's nothing more than a little electro magnet just like a solenoid on a starter.
