Q: i got my scaffold piercing 4 days ago and it still hurtsit usually doesn't hurt when nothing touches it, but then with the lightest touch of a finger or anything else, it hurts badly.i just cleaned it with h2Ocean and a q-tip and now it hurts really bad. :|should it not be hurting by now? or is this normal.? if its normal.. how long until it heals/stops hurting like a *****. hah: When I got my ears pierced professionally, they only hurt for a couple days, maybe a week if I messed with them too much. Later, I personally double pierced my earlobes with a sterile needle at home, it's been over a month and it still occasionally hurts when I sleep on it weird. That is my experience, however it depends if they use a gun or a needle, where exactly you have it pierced, and other factors still can change (infections) the amount of healing time. But a good ballpark figure is about 1-2 weeks, but I know people who's pain can last a month. Good luck, and make sure you find a good professional piercer, and not the local mall free piercing preteen shops :).

Q: I'm trying to understand a problem in my physics book. The problem is this:A person is pulling on a rope, that is connected to a pulley on the ceiling. The rope then goes to a box with a pulley on it, and then up to the ceiling where the rope is connected (to the ceiling).The rope and pulleys are massless and frictionless.The book lists three forces (tension forces) going up and one weight force pulling down.My question is, why isn't there another force pulling against the tension of the rope from the guy pulling the rope?: well, the person is going to have to pull on the rope, and that will be another force that is not pictured in the book. if you think about it, when a rope is under tension, each end is getting pulled, like a tug of war, otherwise it just moves toward the other force. When the forces are balanced, the rope is in tension and does not move. The forces pictured in the book are tension provided by the weight. The person will have to add a tension force downward to compensate.

If you're very terrified of needles, have one of your friends hold your hand while doing it and talk to them while doing this to keep your mind off of the piercing. It should be done very quickly though, so don't work yourself up too much :)

Q: So im a guyAnd I might get oneAnyone had one before/got one?Any advice?How much do they normaly cost?if you answer this i will love you forever :): i got mine (industrial) almost 8 years ago and it cost me $42. it hurt, they do it with one needle and just go straight across your ear. my mom nearly cried when she saw it. it feels really hot and sore after you get it and you have to constantly turn the bar in your ear to prevent infection and a keloid scar. i had a keloid scar on my ear from it and when i started working i was asked to take it out. it smells funny sometimes but i loved having it. kinda miss it now. good luck! xo
