Q: is there anything people can suggest to get an odour out of an area rug... it says specifially that I can't shampoo it so thats out.I can try febreeze but that always seems to just mask the odour it doesn't actually get rid of it.I think the odour itself stems from our vacuum, it needs replacing but until then I need to figure out a work around for this smelly rug as my infant usually has his play blanket ontop of it and has tummy time on there so I really don't want it to smell anymore.1. Can't shampoo2. Febreeze only masksAny suggestions please!!
this odour was it caused by something that you spilled on ? perhaps milk! a steam cleaner would get it clean , why do you say that you can't shampoo? shampoo the entire carpet , keep the window open when you can and sprinkle some baking soda on it before vacuuming, it has nothing to do with the vacuum it self ,unless the bag is full and needs to be replaced,
Q: Does anyone know where I can find a large area rug, mostly black with gold detail? I was looking at oriental rugs, but I'm not particularly fond of any of the ones I've found so far. If it was up to me it would be mostly black with some kind of golden chinese dragon in the corner, or just be asian themed. Any ideas!?! Please!
What size are you looking for? And what's your general price range? Area rugs range in value from cheap machine-made rugs to extremely expensive handmade works of art. If you're serious about having this rug, have some money to spend, and are willing to wait a few months, I would recommend a custom ordered Tibetan carpet. There are several small Tibetan rug productions that make high quality handmade rugs in a variety of styles and colors - they'll even work from a design you give them. Typically these rugs can be had for $50-$100 per square foot, and take 3-6 months to complete. If you're interested, you'll want to work with a reputable oriental rug dealer that can help you find the right production for your needs.
Q: My eight month old son just popped the lid and coverede himself and the carpet!!
Carpet cleaner and then add boiling water. After this, make sure you scrub really really hard and make certain that the carpet is completely dry, use a hair drier if you have to, because you don't want mold under the carpet. This should remove it, it removes most carpet spills except things like ink.
Q: Let me first say, I am Christian. I want readers input on this: I am praying daily in my home. I would like a prayer rug, a Muslim prayer rug. I don't think it has any value to my prayers. I just like the idea of praying from the rug. What is your take of this idea? Thank you.
No disrespect to your religion, but why would you mix something from one religion with something from another religion? Why not create your own place to pray? Someting that has significance to you? If you feel to have a rug in there, buy a new one.
Q: I bought a turquoise accent rug from target and it's bleeding onto my tile. The label says spot clean only but if I put it in the washing machine will all of the color come out? Is there any other way to clean it?
Hmm. I have bought the same type of rug only in a dark blue with the note to spot clean. I had the same thing happen except on linoleum. I didn't really pay much for it so I thought I'd try washing it on a gentle cycle, the materials it was made from was pretty durable (don't know what yours is made of) so I washed alone and added vinegar to the wash (which is said will set the color). I washed mine on a medium load to make sure the water completely covered the rug, add the vinegar to the water as its filling. I poured mine in but if I had to guess I used about 2 cups and don't use detergent. I stopped the cycle and let the rug sit in the solution for about 1/2 hour then continued the wash cycle. I thought it did a good job. I used the vinegar/water wash a few times and noticed that it did help with the bleeding. Good luck whatever you end up doing.
Q: Our small office currently has tiles (vinyl, I think). I wonder if it would be beneficial to have floor carpet installed. What are the pros/cons of having that carpet put in? We'll stay here at least a year or two. Every desk (4 right now, will be adding 2 more) has a laptop or computer, monitor. All workstations connect by WiFi so it's just the power cords that are unsightly. We have guests/clients visit the office less than 5 times a month. We often have conference calls -- will the carpet help with soundproofing? And will the carpet help keep the place cool and complement the A/C?
There is no other flooring type that has the design flexibility of ceramic tile or natural stone. There are multiple shapes, sizes, installation patterns and color ways that give ceramic tile and natural stone endless design choices. This is just one of the many benefits of ceramic tile and natural stone
Q: Hi everyone, how do i take a plain white area rug and make a black floral design on it on parts of the rug? like on two corners and maybe a swirl or two in middle ? i know ive seen people use templates and literarly spray or paint over template to make design. then use a sealer or something i dont know :( help thank you
I did a design on an outdoor sisal type rug and it came out really nice. I used spray paint and sealed it with polyurethane. You can get the templates at a craft store or make one yourself. There might be a problem if there is a high pile on the carpet. The design might not have clean edges. You could try one section of it on the back of the rug. Or get a carpet remanent with a pile like you have on your white carpet to try. If the design does not have clear edges you might be able to touch it up with a tiny paintbrush. I don't think a dye (like Rit Dye) would work. It would run and make a mess. I think you would have to stick to a surface treatment only-like spray paint.
Q: I need a good turnout rug for my delightful stallion as he manages to break every rug I put on him, wether it being ripping off a belly strap (which I don't know how he does because he is in a field with post and electric fence, so there is no barbed wire or anything for him to tear it on) or he breaks the clips on the leg straps, then the rug slides. I need a proper turnout rug, with a bit of quilting for winter, not just a thin sheet. It obviously needs to be fairly sturdy and hardy but because of the number of rugs I have already bought him, then I can't afford to spend a fortune on it. if it was under ?30 that would be great, but absolutly nothing over ?40.So does anybody know any good brands or can find me links to good ones? Thanks in advance
I always use weatherbeeta but Robinsons UK have a range which is good value called the Requisite range, could be good?
Q: I have a wine stain on my white carpet ....?what can I do?
Right away dump on some salt to prevent the wine from setting in. Try club soda, pour it on the entire moist area, the carbonated bubbles help to lift the stain... dab don't rub, with an absorbent cloth to sop up the rest of the red pigment... if you're like me and don't keep club soda around you can use white wine to counteract the red!
Q: HOw can i make my carpets look brand new and fresher like when it was new. i steam clean but it looks flat how can it look better
