- Q: How can I make aluminum oxide?
- Visit this link: okorder ... Hope it's useful to you!
- Q: i heard that aluminum causes Alzheimers and i was wondering if there is any aluminum in tin.
- It would be wrong to state that aluminum causes Alzheimer's. What has been found is an accumulation of aluminum in the brains of people who have died of Alzheimer's. So aluminum is implicated, but not proved to be a cause. It's for this reason that I gave up using deodorants 25 years ago, because they used aluminum hydroxide.
- Q: Can aluminum sheets be used for boat hulls?
- Yes, aluminum sheets can be used for boat hulls. Aluminum is a popular material choice for boat hulls due to its lightweight nature, high strength-to-weight ratio, and excellent corrosion resistance. Aluminum sheets are often used in boat construction to create hulls that are durable, sturdy, and capable of withstanding harsh marine environments. The versatility of aluminum allows for various fabrication techniques, making it suitable for different types of boats, including recreational boats, fishing boats, and even commercial vessels. Moreover, aluminum hulls require less maintenance compared to other materials, which makes them a cost-effective option for boat owners.
- Q: Aluminum is put into copper chloride and how can you tell what happens to them visually?
- Aluminum will reduce copper ions (and be oxidized) when chloride ions are present. Otherwise aluminum metal will pretty much just sit there. The reason is the passivating layer of Al2O3 on the surface of any piece of aluminum. This metal oxide layer prevents the metal from actually reacting. But in the presence of chloride ion in water, Al2O3 will react, resulting in AlCl4^- and OH- ions. Al2O3(s) + 8Cl- + 3H2O(l) -- 2AlCl4^- + 6OH- This allows the aluminum metal to come into contact with copper ions resulting in the redox reaction: 2Al(s) + 3Cu2+ -- 2Al^3+ + 3Cu(s) There is a side reaction where aluminum metal reacts with water, and hydrogen gas is produced. 2Al(s) + 2H2O --2 AlOH^2+ + H2(g) When you actually observe the reaction, you will see copper metal being formed, aluminum metal dissolve and bubbles of hydrogen gas being given off. ============ Follow up ============= Because of the passivating effect of Al2O3 and the fact that Al2O3 dissolves in the presence of Cl- forming a new complex ion, AlCl4^-, Brian's answer leaves out a lot of the important chemistry.
- Q: This question asks about the various applications of aluminum sheets within the construction industry.
-
Aluminum sheets are versatile in construction due to their strength, durability, and lightweight properties. They are used for roofing and cladding to provide weather resistance and aesthetic appeal. Aluminum sheets are also utilized in the fabrication of window frames and doors for their strength and thermal efficiency. They are employed in the construction of scaffolding and temporary structures due to their lightweight and ease of assembly. Additionally, aluminum sheets are used in the manufacturing of facades, canopies, and decorative elements for their modern look and low maintenance requirements.

- Q: Which are better? I currently have steel (kinda ugly) rims on my Chevy Blazer right now, and my roommate has some aluminum alloy rims that will fit that he wants to sell me. He hates my steel rims so much that he's willing to sell me the alloy ones for $100.Should I take it? Or just stick with my steel ones?
- Aluminum rims are a whole lot better on the mechanical stand point, they are lighter, usually stronger (depending on the alloy) and they allow for better heat disapation. Lighter rims will save gas money (nothing you will notice, maybe an extra mile/tank, if that). Depending on the alloy used in the aluminum rims, they are usually stronger and can take more froce abuse, just as long as they don't get scuffed up, ect. With the better heat disapation. When the brakes heat up, the heat is sent out ever direction, mostly through metal. Aluminum (alloy) is a great conductor of heat. So when the brakes heat up, the aluminum rims will absord much of this heat, and the outside air will be able to cool the rim faster then the brakes themselves, but the brakes will stay cooler this way. Brakes that are running cooler, will last longer then brakes running hot. You will have less of a chance of brake fade a condition where the brakes get to a point of being to hot, they don't function at all, or its hard to stop the vehicle. It will also extend the brakes over all life, in some cases up to 40-50%. I had stock steel rims in my truck, small rims for a small truck, and whenever I was doing highway driving, i would get brake fade under high speed braking. When I switched to aluminum rims, I have not had brake fade since, I don't know about the life on the pads, as I switched the rims, before I wore a set down. I picked up a set of 4 5spoke rims from an Explorer and put them on my ranger, I paid $80 for the 4 and they look in pretty good shape, little corrosion. A down side to aluminum rims is corrosion, they corrode easier, and can cuase discolouration of the rim itself, or can cause leaky tires if it corrodes around the bead seat, which it usually does. Its a fair trade off however.
- Q: Are aluminum sheets suitable for industrial machinery?
- Yes, aluminum sheets are suitable for industrial machinery due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and excellent thermal conductivity. Additionally, aluminum is easy to fabricate, making it a popular choice for various applications in the industrial sector.
- Q: Is it possible to use aluminum sheets as an insulating material for walls in new construction projects?
-
Aluminum sheets themselves are not typically used for wall insulation due to their poor insulating properties. Aluminum is a good conductor of heat, which makes it unsuitable for insulation as it can transfer heat easily, leading to energy loss. However, aluminum can be used as a vapor barrier or as part of a composite material in combination with proper insulation. For effective insulation, materials with low thermal conductivity like fiberglass, cellulose, or foam are commonly used.

- Q: Do 101 aluminum sheets require any special maintenance or care?
- 101 aluminum sheets do not require any special maintenance or care. Aluminum is a durable and corrosion-resistant material, so it can withstand various environmental conditions without deteriorating. However, to ensure their longevity and optimal performance, it is recommended to keep them clean from dirt or debris by regularly wiping them with a soft cloth or sponge. Additionally, avoiding abrasive or harsh cleaning agents is advisable to prevent any potential damage to the aluminum sheets. Overall, with minimal attention and care, 101 aluminum sheets can maintain their quality and appearance for an extended period.
- Q: Can 101 aluminum sheets be anodized in different colors?
- Yes, 101 aluminum sheets can be anodized in different colors.
