- If you can hear the noise it makes I can guess that the motor is running. It has lost connection with the screw, chain or other mechanism that pulls the door. ADDED: Don't stick a screwdriver into the up/down adjustments - if the door operated normally before it failed, these won't have any effect on the problem othen than messing up the adjustments after the problem is repaired.
